"My first year at State was the first team post-Rivers.

I got to see Jay Davis, Marcus Stone, Daniel Evans, and the beginning of Russell Wilson.

The worst memory I have was everyone so pumped we were going to make a bowl game, all we had to do was beat Maryland, and then we got shut out at home in what I remember as the coldest experience I had in Carter-Finley."

Same here, class of 2008. I got to see oh so much NC State shit. TA was in (kept us out of a bowl in 2004), Jay Davis shitting the bed all the time (especially that Clemson game), Marcus Stone (who I thought was black until he started starting) "getting" us to the tire bowl with the country's #2 defense with a 6-5 record, Akron was down, losing to Wake because their fucking kicker kept hitting from 55+, more stupid shit against Clemson, a certain someone throwing a yellow flag at Chuck the Chest, and that god awful MD game in TOB's first year.

hahah i remember beck came into that game and played decently well for a few drives and the guy next to me was (in jest) saying "if we played usf tomorrow we'd beat them".

I was at State from Fall 2002 to Fall 2006. Rivers junior year was awesome, same with the Hodge years. Little did I know that it would be all downhill from there in football and the highlight in basketball would be making the Sweet 16 in 2005 despite going 7-9 in conference play that year. I thought every year would be double digit wins in football with national rankings and riots on Hillsborough, and always being in the top 4 in hoops.

I remember

Dunlap's corner vs bc
Evans coming out party as the next rivers vs fsu
Wilson coming out party against ecu
wilson running all over the place against miami
beating unc in ot

the usf monsoon game was probably the most fun i ever had at a football game with under 10,000 people.

cold, pouring rain, windy, and we lost 41-10. yeah, that was fun. but i did see a a big branch on top of a jaguar on the muddy walk back to the TX lot.

(usf was #13 at the time, funny that you bring it up while they're playing rutgers)

^I was just thinking about that game earlier today. I've never been so wet at a game in my life! There was like a total of 100 students left in the student section in the end zone for the second half and we had a lot of fun. The girl next to me only wore a white sports bra in the rain for the game, adding even more to the memories. It was too bad her brother was sitting on the other side of her I couldn't get good looks in, lol. One of the female ushers threatened to throw me out for heckling one of their players with grillz.

Maybe the most fun I've had at a non-UNC game.

^^ now we know for sure that you're Earl

You talked about that Evans vs FSU game for 6 months after it happened and it just so happens to be one of the games you remember most. Not a coincidence.

^^That was one of my favorite game experiences. We were all holding onto each other so tightly during that last UNC drive praying they wouldn't score.

the usf loss in the monsoon was probably the worst game I attended

but making the trip to alabama for the pizza bowl only to watch harrison beck come out in the 2nd half and lose the game in a slow, painful fashion wasnt fun either

I hate when you people play the "we've never been good at football so TOB should not be held accountable" card.

Being good in the past is not a requirement to be good or even to higher a good coach. Not all good coaches are currently coaching at other schools doing great right now either. Oregon was never a powerhouse and now look at them. Sure we don't have the same circumstances as an oregon or oklahoma state but theres nothing keeping us from being a competitive top 25 program other than hiring a good coach.

Yow seems to be pretty good at that and I feel good about the fact that she said mediocrity will not be accepted.

These next two games will define his career.

2-0 Impressive hire
1-1 he are who we thought he are
0-2 pathetic disappointment

I need to reword that. These next two games won't define his career here but its definitely put up or shut up time and these next two games will finalize the judgment he receives. After all of the things that have happened since he's been here. These two games will determine what type of season we have this year and its safe to say 0-2 will lead to another late season push for mediocrity, 1-1 would mean we are average which is just what most of the people on this board want out of our football time, while 2-0 would make us relevant at least for most of the season and also mean our football team is pretty good which would be a relief since we doubled down on this season being great by essentially cutting a starting nfl qb. After this year, we'll see a tremendous talent dropoff so we have to judge his peak by this season and it will be hard to deny these two games will dictate the rest of our season.

Good news is this is how Amato got fired -- penalties, poor qb, nc state shit. Unfortunately, institutional loserism might force us to hit rock bottom with stocker before we get rid of football Herb sendek

I'm done with him and his coordinators. Sure, we can't expect to do better with someone else or whatever you TOB supporters say over and over. Don't care. If NCSU is perpetually destined to go 7 - 5 (with 2 or 3 wins against cupcakes no less) I'd rather watch a different coach do it.

Debbie will do better than fowler. She pulled a rabbit out of the hat with gott -- fired for scandal and out of basketball and cheap. made good soccer and vball hires.

Trust the lady to do a coaching search better than fowler

Guys I heard Staats Battle may transfer if we don't boot CJ Leslie off the team. What do you think we should do, remember staats has three years of eligibility and Leslie is probably gone after this year.

Everything except QB play has been getting worse with TOB here. Now without an elite QB, we are on the edge of a cliff.

If we ever want to see quality football at nc state, Debbie has to find someone else
