I upgraded to 2.1 last night, it seems to have fixed a lot of stuff for me so far. *crosses fingers*

It would be awesome to remote to my desktop from my ipod. Haven't had any luck on vista though.

Can't get Air Sharing to work on Vista either. The Air Sharing website said they updated to a version that would work with vista, but apple hasn't approved of it yet, so 1.0 is stil on the app. store.

^yeah same here. Been trying to set up mocha vnc. Had no luck. My realvnc host on the desktop seems to recognize that it's trying to be connected to but after about 3-4 minutes the ipod just says disconnected by host.

^Yep, I get the same thing with Vista. Like if my monitor had shut itself off, when I use mocha vnc lite from my iPhone the phone's screen is just black. However, if I go move the mouse on my PC to wake the monitor up, vnc seems to work. I haven't had any issues on my XP laptop though.

I had 2 dropped calls tonight driving on 40 around Mebane. It still doesn't seem to know how to hand calls from 3G to Edge even after the 2.1 update.

very happy with the new update. I was sick of the lagging text input

then again I have the old iPhone...

^^^I use Winadmin (RDP, its $12).. not sure that it works with vista but it's great

I think there's a Mocha RDP out now for free

---------------------

addition.... WinAdmin Works with Vista via RDP (i think)?

The old RDP protocol must be allowed in Vista. not sure if that's a deal breaker, check the link

http://www.mydigitallife.us/2008/09/iphone-app---wi.html

I didn't check the mocha website, but I would guess its the same deal.

My iphone has always been pretty solid, but since the update its running like a top. fast, responsive, and hasnt even hiccupped. backing up and installing apps is waaay faster.

My gf's iphone, however, seems a bit more flakey. it'll hang up every so often, especially before 2.1. So maybe there's a bit of luck to it.

Finally got Mocha VNC running. It's able to handle my dual 24"s and lets me scroll around my desktop.

turned off authentication on real vnc. You need a password too. Don't know how safe that is though.

in google maps, i was looking at directions in list view and clicked on Search again and I got a bunch of credits. anybody else get this? not sure if that is intended functionality or what, seemed like an odd sequence to get credits though.

Can you do multiplayer Cro-Mag Rally over wifi? Or is that just Asphalt 4?

Anyone played Asphalt 4? Worth it? We're looking for a multiplayer game to play in internal combustion class.

not really.. there's one scratch i can see by getting it in the light juuust right (with screen off).. but i seriously kept my old one in my pocket with keys/change, etc for a year and never had a scratch that you could see with the screen on

My screen looks like a war zone after a year of use, there's scratches-a-plenty. But to be truthful, I didn't use protection (badum tshhhhh).

Having said that, I dont notice the scratches once the screen is illuminated... and the phone performs exactly as it did on day one

Line Rider is a lot of fun. Of course I always enjoyed it on the PC years back when it came out.

The Force Unleashed is actually decent too. It's pretty much so all gesture based. But it's more fun than I imagined. After comparing the PSP version to the 360 version I wasn't holding up much hope for the iphone version but rather than try to go for a toned down version of the real thing like the psp or ds did they went in a completely different direction with the gestures and it's actually pretty fun.

we should indicate if an app is found through the App Store or available only through a Jailbreak if you post about an app. Would make things easier and more organized.

sweeet! I just noticed that X-Plane 9 is available on the iphone (through the App Store)! I have got to try this out. Reviews look promising.

So far I've mentioned jailbreaking if I've been talking about something requiring it.

Line Rider and Force Unleashed are on the App Store. not for free. Line rider is $3, I think Force Unleashed is $10

Or everything's free if you've jailbroken if you wanna go that route.

See, I plug mine into my bedside table every night and I sync on my computer when...well when I need to sync it. I don't think of the two things as being one event and I'd be willing to bet that I'm not the only one.

So I'd love a wifi sync option.

^same. When I do plug in my phone to the computer its at work on my laptop which isn't the machine I have my iPhone synced. So when I do want to sync it i have to plug it into my computer at home...wifi would be great.

Seriously, it's not worth the convenience. Don't ever allow access to your computer without a password!

This has probably been discussed, but i haven't read through all 55 pages.
Is there anyway to have Calendar appointments show up on the lock screen wallpaper?
If so, anyway that doesn't require jailbreaking or a ghetto screen pic like I have now?

QuickPwn.. no issues, was quick as hell. when i was doing a lot of downloading and other stuff with new apps i noticed battery life sucking bad but now that i'm mainly just using it like i normally would battery life is back to normal (as in, just using the apps and not installing/removing/rebooting a lot)
