I have been swapping Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco all year (with success)...But next week when they face each other in Atl - who do I start?
11/8/2010 10:48:13 PM
I think yahoo took a night offits showing Big Ben with Zero points
11/8/2010 11:11:46 PM
Thank you T.O. for saving my record in my money league.
11/8/2010 11:42:54 PM
^^It's showing 10.98 for him in my league.[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 12:15 AM. Reason : ]

Holy shit I never thought I stood a chance going into tonight against wahoowa. Thanks TO!!!!!

Fitzpatrick vs DETorMatty Ice vs BAL
11/9/2010 10:33:39 AM
Fitzpatrick for sure
11/9/2010 10:34:36 AM
BenJarvus Green-Ellis (vs PIT) or Ricky Williams (vs TEN)?Gotta go Ricky, right?[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 12:03 PM. Reason : a]
11/9/2010 12:02:34 PM
Yeah RickyI've got to pick up a QB this week and I have to drop one of my RBs.Should I drop Fred Jackson, Ryan Mathews or Green-Ellis?[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 12:28 PM. Reason : .]
11/9/2010 12:27:25 PM
I'd probably drop Fred Jackson
11/9/2010 12:51:03 PM
Really? He's been more consistant than Green-Ellis who is losing a significant amount of carries to Woodhead each game. Although Woodhead gets the ball in the RZ tho.Jackson has averaged 8-10 points a week for the last 3 weeks for me.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH I HATE BYE WEEKS!!!!![Edited on November 9, 2010 at 1:04 PM. Reason : .]
11/9/2010 1:03:26 PM
I have kind of the same situation going on with a couple of mediocre/sub-par running backs in my 16 team league. Fred Jackson doesnt put up great numbers but hes a lot more consistent than Green-Ellis will ever be. I vote to keep Fred Jackson and drop Green-Ellis.Thats probably the worst situation imaginable. A Buffalo and NE running back on the same team. [Edited on November 9, 2010 at 1:28 PM. Reason : ]
11/9/2010 1:27:48 PM
That's how I feel. I need a tie breaker with an intelligent argument to back their reasoning!Panthro, where the hell are you? You are more absent from your own threads than anyone I've seen on TDUB. We might have to dethrone the "guru."
11/9/2010 1:30:07 PM
Here's my reasoning.Green-Ellis has more potential for big points, aside from last week, he's averaged 11.3 points per game the previous 6 games (& 6 TDs) and consistently gets 10+ carries per game. Losing carries to Woodhead? Please. Are you basing that off of just this week? Because week 8 he had 17 touches. 72 points this season. Now I don't like his matchup against Pittsburgh this week, just keep in mind F.Jackson will see Pitts in week 12.Fred Jackson, aside from 1 TD last week he would have had 3 points. His only other TD was week 2, in which he still only ran for 39 yards. That's it. 2 TDs all season, has the worst yards per carry of any back in the NFL (just a guess) and has never exceeded 70 yards rushing per game, even with 20+ carries. That's pretty pathetic. About the only intriguing thing about him is the 20+ carries the previous 2 weeks, but seeing as he only averaged 3.2 yards per carry in those two games without TDs, I just don't have much confidence in him. Again only 3 games this year over 10 carries. 42 points this season.Mathews is really a lot like Fred Jackson. As for their respective schedules, they're pretty much the same, just different order.[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 1:51 PM. Reason : .]
11/9/2010 1:43:13 PM
As much as it pains me to say it, Matthews isn't worth a damn. He's hurt, a rookie, in a 3 way timeshare and on a bye. Not sure you can get much worse than that.At least the other two are outright starters getting points. We are at a point in the season where you can't hold out on the promise of upside. It's week 10. If they haven't done shit yet, what makes you think they will?Drop Matthews.
11/9/2010 1:45:50 PM
Kyle Orton or Joe Flacco?and in my other league....Eli Manning or Matt Schuab?I'm thinking Flacco and Eli...anyone got an opinion?
11/9/2010 1:47:34 PM
Yea, I'd put Mathews in the same boat as Fred Jackson. I'd drop either of them before Green-Ellis.^I'd go Flacco & Eli.... Orton is good, but schedule is picking up and opponents are picking up on their pass-only offense.[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 1:54 PM. Reason : .]
11/9/2010 1:47:38 PM
ok...so New Orleans D is on a bye....but i really don't want to drop them due to their upcoming schedule. I have Orton and Palmer...should I even consider dropping Palmer for a 2nd D or just drop NO and hope to pick them back up next week or play matchups.
11/9/2010 2:35:17 PM
are Palmer and Orton your only QBs?
11/9/2010 3:13:52 PM
@dmspack - I'd go Orton and Manning. Manning is red hot right now with an awesome receiving core. Orton spreads the ball around a lot and they have no running game so they throw the ball alot.@phish - drop NO. Palmer has some upside with TO having the season he is and Orton is.... well.... Kyle Orton. He's doing well now but you can't help but wonder how long it will last. QBs are too hard to replace. Defenses aren't.So the following QBs are available:Favre vs CIN (I like this matchup but Favre averages two INTs a game)Sanchez vs CLEBradford vs SF (SF is horrid so that matchup could be good)Fitzpatrick vs DETV. Young vs MIAI'm leaning towards Favre or Sanchez. Any thoughts?
11/9/2010 3:24:48 PM
Sanchez or Fitz, Favre is just too risky, I mean he's a 20-something QB for a reason, I mean you might as well pick up Shaun Hill (v. Buf) this week. Detroit is 27th ranked against opp-QB's (for Fitz) and Cleveland is 24th (for Sanchez)[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 4:07 PM. Reason : .]
11/9/2010 4:03:00 PM
^ You do know that Hill is probably not going to play on Sunday (forearm). Drew Stanton might start.
11/9/2010 5:01:08 PM
Fairness of Brady/Vernon Davis for Josh Freeman/Zach Miller/Malcolm Floyd? Its pretty obvious a team is getting dumped, same guy agreed to trade : OchoCinco/Crabtree/Steven Jackson/Austin Collie for Santana Moss/Thomas Jones/Breaston/AddaiI don't like vetoing trades, but I can't stand teams that give up and blow up their team, especially when its to their brother and best friend. On the surface first trade doesn't look horrible, its just seems the one guy is dumping.[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 5:12 PM. Reason : .]
11/9/2010 5:09:09 PM
Just made this trade. I do not like it as much in retrospect when I offered it, but I am a set at RB (Arian and Turner) and needed WR help:I give: McCoy and T.JonesI get: Miles Austin and A.BradshawHopefully Austin and Kitna will start to develop some chemistry and I figure the Cowboys are going to be losing every week and they'll be airing it out to Austin maybe. Bradshaw is playing well too and gives me a fill-in if Turner or Foster go down or have a poor matchup.
11/9/2010 5:29:38 PM
I'm trying to pick up a TE on waivers and I have it as my first priority that will be processed the 12th but my second waiver priority (i.e. my backup TE that I want) is showing that it will process tomorrow, the 10th.....What's up with that?
11/9/2010 5:32:18 PM
^^^ anyone have an opinion on if that guy is dumping? Both teams on the receiving end of his trades are already in first place....[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 5:36 PM. Reason : .]
11/9/2010 5:33:17 PM
which QB should I start this week? I have Matt Stafford on my roster, but he will be getting dropped in favor of another QB since he's out for the seasonJay Cutler vs. Minn (already on my roster)David Garrard vs. HouRyan Fitzpatrick vs. DetCarson Palmer @ IndyMatt Cassell @ Denpretty decent options
11/9/2010 5:39:35 PM
I like Garrard.
11/9/2010 5:48:59 PM
^^Fitz has been working pretty well for me the past 3-4 weeks and should have a good matchup against Detroit
11/9/2010 6:05:58 PM
Would you drop Vernon Davis for Tamme? (I also have Marcedes Lewis)[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 6:34 PM. Reason : .]
11/9/2010 6:34:39 PM
^^I like him in a league where I have Rodgers (on bye this week), as he has been killing it. But they just lost Roscoe Parrish for the season, and while that might not sound like much, it is going to probably impact their passing game a good bit^it's tough to choose that. TE's are tough to pick anyway- they can have a week w/ 100yds and 2 tds, then a week with 1 catch for 5[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 7:02 PM. Reason : I play TE's based on matchups. I have Gonzalez/Keller in one and Olsen/Marcedes in another]
11/9/2010 7:00:56 PM
Ok, I have:WR: A Johnson, Garcon, D Jax, V Jax(week12)RB: Bradshaw, Torain, R Brown, P Thomas, Woodhead, Should I trade Johnson/Torain for Tomlinson/Ocho? Best is also an option instead of LT
11/9/2010 8:02:23 PM
no, LT and Ocho are both on the decline, Andre Johnson is still a beast^^Roscoe was like the 3rd receiver on their team, I think they'll still be alright with Lee Evans and Steve Johnson. I bet CJ Spiller will get a little more playing time now that Parrish is out
11/9/2010 9:01:51 PM
I'm weak at WR, and I'm thinking about sending out some trade offers where I give LT and get a solid WR. Is Moreno going to be a decent enough replacement? He seems healthy and has put up some decent points this year.
11/9/2010 9:20:03 PM
eh, if you go into it knowing that he could have a good week one week and a stinker the next, then you'll be fine. I'd rather use him as a flex, but I guess he could be alright as an RB2. I'd like to see how he performs this week (fully healthy and coming off of a bye) before I make a final decision on him.pick my 3 WR this week, non-ppr league:Randy Moss @ MiamiSantana Moss vs. PhillyRoddy White vs. BaltPierre Garcon vs. Cincy
11/9/2010 10:03:33 PM
Felix Jones @NJG or Visanthe Shiancoe @CHI for WRT Flex? 6 vs half dozen?andVick @ WAS or Big Ben @ NE [Vick currently starting]I'm also debating if I want to keep NO defense due to scheduling, dump them for PHI and hope to pick them back up, or just roll without a defense this week, but I'm already going to fight tooth and nail for points due to byes and injuries. I have no real ties to Shiancoe, I picked him up for Gonzalez's bye. I suppose I could drop him for a WR or RB just as well.[Edited on November 10, 2010 at 8:46 AM. Reason : ]
11/10/2010 8:42:31 AM
going without a defense (or kicker, or any position in your roster) is ridiculous. Thats like giving your opponent 5+ points every week. All it takes is for one interception or fumble to be recovered for a touchdown and you will be set. I would drop the Saints defense and pick up the Eagles defense this week. I was reading an article by Matthew Berry a couple weeks ago and he said that the Steelers and Jets defenses are the only two that are not droppable, and that makes sense with all the parody this year. In the long run, I think Philly's defense is better than the Saints, so it wont kill you if you cant pick up the saints defense after the game.Next, I would actually start Shiancoe over Felix Jones this week. Here are Felix's numbers for the last 4 weeks:Week 6 - 14 carries for 32 yards; 10 rec for 61 yardsweek 7 - 9 carries for 35 yards; 3 rec for 27week 8 - 8 carries for 22; 3 rec for 14week 9 - 5 carries for 16; 0 recthose numbers are AWFUL, I dropped Felix this week, he is an absolute fantasy bust this year. I never thought he earned the preseason top-20 ranking, but I didnt think he would be this bad.I would also start Michael Vick over Big Ben.now help with mine dammit:

yeah, I didnt realize he was on pace for 800 receiving yards. I thought he was just a gimmick player. I still think they will be alright with the emergence of Steve Johnson and Lee Evans - I mean we're talking about the 0-7 Bills.two more questions then I'm doneTampa Bay's D/ST vs. Car orPhillys D/ST @ WashSantonio Holmes @ Cle orMichael Crabtree vs. StL
11/10/2010 9:48:17 AM
With Matt Moore and about all of Carolina's RBs out go with TB. The WR is kind of a coin flip but I'd go with Crabtree because NYJ's offense could shit the bed again. I need to pick up a WR this week. The options are Lee Evans, James Jones, Jordan Shipley, Earl Bennett, Jacoby Ford, and the other usual suspects. 16 team league which is why the options suck and its 1 PPR. Any suggestions?
11/10/2010 10:34:52 AM
lee evans... all the way
11/10/2010 10:47:20 AM
Pick 2:Steven Jackson v San FranMichael Turner v BaltJahvid Best v BuffaloPick 1:Hines Ward v NERandy Moss v Miami
11/10/2010 11:09:36 AM
^I'd go Jackson and Turner...and Ward.
11/10/2010 11:26:39 AM
Agreed. Best is hurt right now with a toe injury I think. He'll still play but he's not 100%.
11/10/2010 11:31:10 AM
Flex spot...start:1) Knowshon Morenoor2) Steve Johnsonor3) Percy Harvin
11/10/2010 12:00:13 PM
Johnson only because Parish is out and he will be the sole target. Harvin is also a good choice.
11/10/2010 12:12:09 PM
don't forget about lee evans, spiller, and jackson (and there TE). Fitz patrick is like Eli in that he will throw it to whoever he can/has to. I don't think rice is coming back this week, so harvin still looks good. But it really could go either way b/w those two guys. Just look at matchups/weather/etc on game day and see what looks good (i didn't bother to look it up myself now because I'm on my way out the door)
11/10/2010 12:17:21 PM
^^^ JohnsonBrees is on a bye this week and my awesome replacement for the week WAS gonna be stafford, but he had to go and get injured again.grabbed vince young and shaun hill fresh off the waiver wire. which should i start?have young in right now, but it's a close call. i also have calvin johnson as my #1 WR. it's always extra sweet when your QB throws one to your WR in fantasy.
