I currently run this wizard build and have been comfortably playing thru the whole story mode on T3.http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Veldrin-1917/hero/834027Disintegrate to explode everything, and magic missile + prodigy to regenerate AP when needed.
3/3/2014 10:18:58 AM
I really like the changes they've made to loot/itemization.
3/3/2014 10:25:42 AM
It's so much more fun now. I like how there are Legendary affixes now that can enable entire builds or play-styles. There are also ones that are just fun, like this chest piece I got that makes all your attacks guaranteed crits when your life falls below a certain level. I'm having a lot fun with this Wizard spec just farming T1,http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/ShrikeT-1187/hero/3633133[Edited on March 3, 2014 at 10:56 AM. Reason : :]
3/3/2014 10:56:07 AM
Hahahaha holy shit they've changed the monster affixesHas anyone gotten a poison/plauge rare pack? It's WAAAAAAY different.I also got a pack where these little lightning balls floated around. Another one with wormholes, but I didn't understand what those did. This shit is so much different.
3/3/2014 11:23:31 AM
it spawns wormholes on all players/followers and if you don't move will then tp you to another wormhole I think? idk. the new loot system is way better I just wish the mob density were higher.
3/3/2014 2:09:21 PM
my barb (who refused to AH for the most part) has gotten so much gear since the swap too. i also got that legendary axe with the chance to smite. havent tried using it yet though since i was going p tanky for a bit.
3/3/2014 2:13:48 PM
^^ i think the density will be higher in adventure mode
3/3/2014 2:35:17 PM
Just found a helmet that increase all fire damage by 16%. Switched to an all fire build and am absolutely wrecking shit on Torment 2.
3/3/2014 3:28:47 PM
Ended up having a light day so I got to play a bunch. I don't think I've ever had this much fun with Diablo 3. There are way more skill modifications on loot. Every 30 minutes I'll get 2-3 pieces of gear that make me change around all my skills and try something different.
3/3/2014 5:54:57 PM
yeah, i picked up thunderfury and went from a 2h build to 1h build and seem to be doing ok in T2-T3 with ~90k dps
3/4/2014 8:41:53 AM
Just FYI, apparently the MF% buff from higher Torment levels only applies to Reaper of Souls legendary items. So it's basically pointless to play at higher T levels right now except for the extra experience.
3/4/2014 8:45:09 AM
ah ok, i was mostly doing it for the act 1 quick quest completion. theres a series of about 5-6 quests in a row that end up netting about 10mil xp from the quests alone
3/4/2014 8:47:16 AM
Found a legendary voodoo mask yesterday that makes all my fetishes shoot blow darts at my target when I do. Oh man fun was had[Edited on March 4, 2014 at 8:52 AM. Reason : .]
3/4/2014 8:52:36 AM
i haven't really been playing more than the barb and wiz, i could try out the wd again, but the dps is going to be so bad on them...
3/4/2014 8:55:47 AM
I played nothing but a WW Barb since D3 released, and loaded 2.0.1 to find that train has pretty much come to a halt for good. I thought I'd be pissed, but honestly it's a little refreshing because I've now got a reason to check out each class again. The changes to the WD have felt good. My pets don't instantly die, my skills actually do damage.. It's a 180 from where the WD was pre-patch in my mind. I tried the Wizard and found a ton of different skill/gear options. I can easily see a lot of diversity with Wizard builds based around the skill modifiers on gear. Going to screw around with the Monk and DH today.
3/4/2014 9:04:27 AM
My witch doctor pre-patch destroyed damage wise and the pets never died.
3/4/2014 9:12:08 AM
maybe i'll try the WD out again later
3/4/2014 9:16:19 AM
the skill modifiers are def nice. ive swapped my build about 4x in 2 days of play. can't say like i felt i had that option previously.plus with the new loot is mega awesome. my ranged barb found a legendary and a set item on one random purple dude. can't argue with that.
3/4/2014 10:06:29 AM
i've gotten a couple really nice upgrades on my WD so far, but no interesting skill mods yet. i had a pair of gloves that were a dps downgrade but buffed fire damage by 18%. i tried a fire build to see if i could notice the buff but it seemed a lot weaker so i switched back.its fun to even think about that sort of stuff now though, and i'm sure eventually i'll find something that actually does pay off to work around.i know i've really enjoyed 3 different new builds i never would've tried before, so already its been a lot of fun just changing playstyles. monk was always the most boring to me; i'll have to try that one out soon to see if its more fun now.[Edited on March 4, 2014 at 10:12 AM. Reason : .]
3/4/2014 10:10:42 AM
i picked up a puzzle ring which is kinda nice, i wouldn't be picking up the other stuff anyways. so it works out.
3/4/2014 10:14:17 AM
Home from work yesterday pretty early and made a DH on a whim...leveled that fucker to 42 in a matter of a few hours. This game is already more enjoyable, if only because of the drop rates...nice to actually see a Legendary now and then.Kind of hit a wall around 40 though, didn't look like anyone was on within my level range to drop into a game with.
3/4/2014 10:36:14 AM
i'm thinking about running a hardcore char this weekend to try and get up into some paragon levels before the xpac. what characters have the best survivability now? i know the barb pretty well, and i played a monk before i died due to disconnect on belial
3/4/2014 10:55:10 AM
I can't actually play anything but hardcore anymore. Its pretty hard to die in Hardcore unless you set the torment way higher than you can handle.Gearing a barb that wont die is easy, and right now Wizards and WDs are pretty good choices.
3/4/2014 11:30:26 AM
sounds like that's what i'll go with then.is it impossible to run through the harder difficulties to start off?
3/4/2014 11:35:17 AM
Got back into D3 as well. My wizard is up to 175k dps now, and I've been able to change builds around. Its amazing how many abilities I only used once. Frozen Orb being back is just awesome.Game feels so much more like a game now instead of a chore.I got an item a couple of days ago where the proc is if I'm surrounded by three or more mobs my toon shits her pants and creates the "Stinky" debuff (does like 300% weapon damage over time). Still laughing about that.
3/4/2014 11:52:47 AM
i tooo have the shit yourself pants.
3/4/2014 12:32:06 PM
Nephalem Valor being removed is quite possibly my favorite thing ever. Fuck your 5 stacks Blizzard. Condensing all the potions down to one also seems like a very nice streamline. Same with crafting mats. Also, "Players can now see the stat ranges of items by pressing and holding CTRL while an item's tooltip is open".[Edited on March 4, 2014 at 2:41 PM. Reason : press and hold]
3/4/2014 2:38:02 PM
i agree, getting to change the skills on the fly is much more helpful.
3/4/2014 2:40:08 PM
Have found multiple legendaries per play session since the Loot 2.0 patch. One item was a set of Nemesis Bracers that spawns an elite champion each time you use a shrine. Pretty neat.
3/4/2014 2:45:46 PM
I'll probably be playing some tonight.Exiled#1152
3/4/2014 2:50:54 PM
I just tried to log in, apparently the servers are down[Edited on March 4, 2014 at 3:14 PM. Reason : maintenance until 5pm]
3/4/2014 3:13:18 PM
yeah, i saw mention of there being maintenance today. hopefully they're adding in offline play, or ability to host a multiplayer server separate from their servers
3/4/2014 3:15:12 PM
i think they recently said that's never going to happen
3/4/2014 3:16:46 PM
as someone who played tons of MMOs growing up and plays LOL a ton, i really don't give a shit either. so long as there isn't painful lag (which has happened in d3 I'll admit) then I'm fine.
3/4/2014 5:08:22 PM
They've said, probably multiple dozen times, that there will never be offline play.Though you can play offline if you own a console version of the game.[Edited on March 4, 2014 at 5:35 PM. Reason : *]
3/4/2014 5:16:40 PM
added you Exiled[Edited on March 4, 2014 at 8:26 PM. Reason : lol, first guy i killed gave me a weapon that doubled my dps]
3/4/2014 8:08:22 PM
i've debated getting a console version of the game. but no real sense in doing that when i can play on pc
3/4/2014 8:50:54 PM
djgrimx#1384 herejust added exiled as well
3/4/2014 8:52:40 PM
just found the new fuckhead affix combo for wizardsreflects damage + thunderstorm + anything + anything.... especially jailer or vortexi feel like 80% of the elites these days have reflects damage, such a bullshit affix
3/4/2014 9:03:48 PM
not sure the new system is easier than the monster levels they previously had, but definitely leveled faster than i was expecting through hardcore.hit 26ish by the time i downed the spider queen
3/4/2014 11:55:15 PM
bonus XP[Edited on March 5, 2014 at 12:08 AM. Reason : 50%]
3/5/2014 12:08:33 AM
Yah the bonus XP is raining down hard. I went from 52 to 60 on a Wizard last night in about 2 hours. Before that would have taken way, way longer.
3/5/2014 7:19:59 AM
That double XP is no joke. Especially on one of the higher difficulties. Debating whether I should work on my paragon level or run a different class up to 60 while I have the chance.
3/5/2014 8:01:15 AM
I'm debating getting a hardcore character to 60 while it's super easy. I definitely have the time.[Edited on March 5, 2014 at 8:07 AM. Reason : .]
3/5/2014 8:06:56 AM
not like it takes THAT long in the grand scheme of things either way. i think my WD had 20 hrs or a little less and was lvl 54. i'll probably get him to lvl 60 while the getting is good though so i can have 1 caster and my barbarian.
3/5/2014 10:25:36 AM
now would be the best time to level up new characters. the legendary hunt is nice but unless youre just gearing up to be able to handle T2, T3, etc.. for exp, the best thing to do right now is farm exp for paragon levels, especially with the community event +50% exp buff going on until 3/24
3/5/2014 10:54:01 AM
at this point loading up on paragon levels that translate to new characters seems the way to go.and i almost think starting a character from scratch (or perhaps doing the reset quests) would be the best way to get a character geared up since they guarantee a dropped legendary from some of the bosses
3/5/2014 10:56:10 AM
^ Was thinking that same thing. Actually was considering running A1 and then just resetting after Butcher goes down. That might be mostly because I hate A2 for some reason
3/5/2014 11:05:59 AM
Yeah I just reset and have been going through Act 1. Finding lots of legendaries and am gaining paragon levels pretty fast. I was only at like Paragon level 3, so it'll be nice to get that as high as possible before expansion and then I can level a crusader/other chars with some nice paragon boosts.
3/5/2014 11:10:35 AM
i think they're actually making it so you have to have completed every quest in the game to reset it, but i'm not sure its working correctly at the moment
