So what happened with that hand Ben??
10/30/2005 1:30:16 AM
I still think one of my all time favorite poker hands is in this years WSOP where Hellmuth calls guys all in with AK, the other guy had KJ, and the guy hits a J on the river to win, and Phil goes off on a hilarious rant saying how the whole table is terrible, the guy that just beat him is so bad he can't even spell poker etc...I had it Tivo'd and I swear I laughed everytime I watched that part.

i really dont like playing against the computer it doesnt seem real enough...is there a good free place to play like not for money so you can just practice and shit?[Edited on October 30, 2005 at 2:49 AM. Reason : i dont think computers know how to bluff]
10/30/2005 2:35:41 AM
fuck i just got 2 2's delt to me but i lost in the flop
10/30/2005 2:40:57 AM
^^What are you talking about?
10/30/2005 2:12:20 PM
the other night i won the poker game on the first hand vs. Shivan Bird and NCSUBBMgoing all-in with an A,8shivan bird had A,KI got an 8 on the river
10/30/2005 2:14:23 PM
i woulda choked you[Edited on October 30, 2005 at 2:18 PM. Reason : AK IS A RAISING HAND NOT A CALLING HAND!!!1]
10/30/2005 2:18:13 PM
if 2 people end up having the exact same flush, but 2 different suits. do they split? is there a better suit?
10/30/2005 8:37:43 PM
what game are you playing.thats impossible in holdem and omaha.but possible in stud i guess, but the chances of that happening, are fucking miniscule.[Edited on October 30, 2005 at 8:41 PM. Reason : e]
10/30/2005 8:41:05 PM
its a split[Edited on October 30, 2005 at 8:42 PM. Reason : and yes its rediculously unlikely]
10/30/2005 8:42:02 PM
^ in holdem, there cant be two flushes of different suits, of exactly the same rank.its impossible.[assuming holdem, which is the flavor 'round here][Edited on October 30, 2005 at 8:43 PM. Reason : e]
10/30/2005 8:43:21 PM
well yeah, when it came up we were talking about nonholdem is there an answer, or does it just split?
10/30/2005 8:44:52 PM
yeah i realize the odds are crazy, i just had the conversation with my brother once about a possible stud hand that went that way. and i was just having another conversation with MY SHAWTY about regular ole 5 card. we were thinking maybe spades would win for some reason SO I THOUGHT ID ASKwhy would we think that about spades?
10/30/2005 8:47:02 PM
id think its a split, but i cant say as to ive ever seen that in a rule book.ie, two 7 card stud hands,Ah Kh 7h 8h 9h X X and Ac Kc 7c 8c 9c X XI guess would split. When deciding a high card for chop splits, like when the house rule is the high card in the hole takes the extra toke off the chop pot when it doesnt divide equally, the suits go in alphabetical order, but in hi/lo games it goes reverse alphabetical. alpha, spade highest down to club. reverse alpha, club highest down to spade.
10/30/2005 8:48:10 PM

My favorite Phil Hellmuth quote...I was playing $2/5 NL at The Bike (in L.A.) during the Legends event this August... Well, the "big game" of the night was $200/400 limit, at the table right next to mine. Playing there most of the night were Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Barry Greenstein, Jerry Buss (owner of the Lakers), Mimi Tran, Tuan Le, and a few others... Before this game started up, Hellmuth had been playing Tuan Le for a long time heads up in a mixed game, and he'd been talking shit to Tuan about his play all night long. So at some point, a big pot is being pushed to Tuan Le, and Hellmuth stands, shocked by Tuan's cards after he calls Tuan on the river. And after mumbling a bit at the beginning of a rant, with the same tone that you always hear him use on TV..."You check/raised me on the turn with the sucker end of a gutshot!"Maybe it's one of those 'you have to be there' lines, but it was absolutely hilarious, and seeing the board on the showdown, that is exactly what happened. All night long, Hellmuth acted just like you see on TV all the time - no cameras necessary.
10/31/2005 2:49:38 AM
i can see/hear that.good story.
10/31/2005 2:50:57 AM
i dont watch poker on tv all that much(too boring), how does he act on tv?
10/31/2005 2:55:55 AM

10/31/2005 3:24:51 PM

10/31/2005 3:36:42 PM
