Hello luke kenard
11/15/2017 7:11:41 PM
Blake Harris in now
1/10/2018 11:43:17 AM
I don’t know much about him. Former 4*. I’ll take it
1/10/2018 12:22:01 PM
LOL that Mizzou recruiting class has already fallen apart.
1/10/2018 1:23:47 PM
I read that we were to scholarships over the limit. I cant keep track of who our players are as is. So what does our team look like next year?
1/10/2018 1:59:55 PM
We're currently 2 over for next year I think. Somebody is gone after this year whether they like it or not Harris is apparently yet another driving guard without a jumper. Also 7 schools in 8 years.
1/10/2018 2:17:16 PM
1/10/2018 2:21:40 PM
Yeah we're currently sitting over the limit next year, even assuming Yurt goes pro. It's why Harris is actually going to walk-on this semester and supposedly will have a scholarship in the Fall. Next year's roster: PG: Johnson, Beverly, Batts, HarrisSG/SF: Dorn, Bryce, Daniels, Newman, Bey, HellemsPF/C: Hicks, Kirk, Bates, Steere, FunderburkUpdate: Kirk appears to be transferring, so our scholarship numbers work now if Yurt goes pro.[Edited on January 10, 2018 at 2:24 PM. 1/10/2018 2:23:15 PM
How does Braxton Beverly get on the court next year?
1/10/2018 2:46:47 PM
to piggy back off^^PG: Johnson (JR), Beverly (SO), Batts (SO), Harris (FR technically...3.5 years left)SG/SF: Dorn (SR), Bryce (JR), Daniels (SO), Newman (SO), Bey (FR), Hellems (FR)PF/C: Hicks (assuming he medical redshirts, SO), Kirk, Bates (FR), Steere (FR), Funderburk (SO?)(Newman is a walkon, not counting against scholly numbers). that's an inexperienced, thin frontcourt^i mean, he's playing pretty well right now. i think he'll continue to improve and get plenty of PT next year[Edited on January 10, 2018 at 2:50 PM. Reason : l]

I dont disagree that he is playing well. And we are very fortunate that the NCAA granted him eligibility this year. But if we get Johnson back and Batts continues to play at the level he played against Duke, Beverly would be our "4th string" PG. Unless we are going with a small lineup next year, I dont see him getting much playing time.[Edited on January 10, 2018 at 3:01 PM. Reason : ^I will take that bet.]
1/10/2018 2:59:31 PM
I would not expect Hicks to be here next year either.
1/10/2018 3:07:39 PM
He (Beverly) won't get as much as he is now, but he's not going to be "4th string". I don't know for certain, but just quickly looking at Harris's stats, Beverly is having a better freshman season.[Edited on January 10, 2018 at 3:09 PM. Reason : ^maybe, maybe not. but in case you didn't know, he's not playing now because of a torn ACL]]
1/10/2018 3:08:38 PM
Yeah, I just kind of assumed Harris would beat out Beverly, because otherwise why would he transfer here? But maybe Harris isnt as good as I am assuming. I dont know, I've never seen him play.
1/10/2018 3:11:18 PM
1/10/2018 3:12:28 PM
He's going to get the team hooked on Meth?
1/10/2018 3:14:20 PM
the other team
1/10/2018 3:16:29 PM
Pretty sure Newman was a preferred walk-on but has a scholarship right now so I think he does count against the limit(and thus why we're over 1 if Yurt stays but we're fine if he goes pro as expected).
1/10/2018 3:18:05 PM
Beverly had already beat out Johnson as the main PG dating back to Zona/UNI games
1/10/2018 3:21:40 PM
^it puts us at 14 not counting yurt and kirk based on the roster you posted.
1/10/2018 3:23:52 PM
Hard to predict the line-up for next year. I'm fairly certain Batts/Beverly have earned their minutes and from what I've read Bryce is the best scorer on the team right now so I imagine he'll be seeing plenty of minutes. I'd actually put Harris as the 4th guy in the rotation, but if you can go 4 deep with good ball handlers that can distribute, not a bad situation, especially given Keatts system. Unless Harris can develop some 3pt shooting though I'm not sold he sees a huge volume of minutes next year unless Bryce and Daniels can pour it in from outside.
1/10/2018 3:35:07 PM
I think you'll see some of BB at 2 guard to focus on shooting and be a secondary ball handler. Might see some platooning as well were they run out hockey lines just to keep everybody fresh after the press and transition play.
1/10/2018 3:36:56 PM
How many more fucking guards do we need who can't shoot.Unless this is a sign that Markell aint coming back
1/10/2018 3:43:54 PM
I think Jay Bilias said Daniels was "the best player on the court" when he watched our practice last week. I mean, it a pretty good problem to have.
1/10/2018 3:46:38 PM
Beverly already beat out Batts and MJ as starting PG, hr won't be 4th string unless they improve or he regresses. He still shot alot that Duke game and his D is a problem but that 3 he made late was crucial
1/10/2018 4:06:18 PM
Assuming Markell is off the team, Blake Harris SHOULD be the starting PG next year no question.Think that will slide BB to a PG/SG role in relief with LBatts.

I like Bevrely and Batts at point, I'm not sure about this Harris cat. Can he shoot the 3? The clips shows him making layups and jumpers.
1/10/2018 7:09:07 PM
^
1/10/2018 7:23:36 PM
I'd imagine you'll see these 3 guards early and often in our starting line-up next year IF Johnson isn't available: Beverly, Batts, Bryce. Our Killer B's are going to likely be starting.
1/11/2018 9:05:54 AM
Need bodies to play Keatts style, especially guards. If they actually play with the pace and intensity he wants having several to rotate through will be needed.
1/11/2018 11:06:16 AM
1/11/2018 11:27:47 AM
Why would Beverly not play? Isn't he leading the ACC in assist to turnover ratio? You guys are crazy if you think he's moving to garbage time.
1/11/2018 12:12:12 PM
Why lol?
1/11/2018 12:12:24 PM
I can't keep up with it, but I think the lol because we're already over our scholarship limit, especially if Johnson comes back.
1/11/2018 1:50:20 PM
Keatts said in an interview that the Harris signing had no bearing on Markell. It seemed to indicate that he expects attrition from other areas.
1/11/2018 1:54:35 PM
yeah obviously KK is expecting other attrition. i guess it's just a matter of who...of the guys he inherited (ie, didn't recruit) Yurt, Dorn, Hicks, and Markell will be eligible next year...and seems like Yurt is probably a good bet to go pro. Dorn would be a senior so he could do the grad transfer thing i guess although i'm not sure i would understand his motivation for transferring. Hicks hasn't shown much so he could be a transfer candidate, although with his injury it seems like it would have benefited him to announce his transfer sooner rather than later so he doesn't have to sit another year after being out with injury all year this year. Markell seems like a good fit for KK's system, but maybe he's looking for a fresh start somewhere else. of KK's other recruits, only Braxton and Batts are both playing this year and will play next year. Freeman and Hunt will be gone and Daniels and Bryce just transferred in. so with Kirk gone and let's assume Yurt gone...Hicks seems like the most likely to go, but even then he stands to have plenty of PT next year if he can improve and get healthy. so basically...who the hell knows what's gonna happen. it does seem clear that KK ir totally revamping/rebuilding the roster with guys he wants.
1/11/2018 2:17:41 PM
Dorn can't transfer again right?
1/11/2018 2:21:41 PM
Why not?
