Moto Droid running Froyo and OC'd to 800mhz
7/6/2010 12:57:35 PM
yeah, I got 30 hours on a single charge with light to moderate use with the Kangerade Froyo rom on the Droid. Currently running the Sapphire Source Rom and even with moderate to semi-heavy, I'm still able to make it 12hrs+ and have 30-40% battery left.
7/6/2010 1:55:52 PM
any kernels yet for Froyo source?
7/6/2010 3:09:24 PM
p3 has various sapphire specific kernels.http://www.droidforums.net/forum/cvpcs/56457-kernels-get-your-kernels-red-hot-kernels-sapphire-0-7-0-a.html[Edited on July 6, 2010 at 3:39 PM. Reason : ]

For those that are interested, it looks like the official HTC extended battery for the Incredible was finally released:http://store.androidcentral.com/htc-extended-battery-w-door/8A37A6698.htm

Someone was going to post it:my work does not show pics so I have no idea if that worked, here is a link to the article, just in case:http://www.androidcentral.com/tests-show-android-22s-javascript-engine-runs-rings-around-iphoneShort: Android browser > anything else.[Edited on July 7, 2010 at 10:19 AM. How do I get my google tool bar back. I woke up and it waqs on one screen and nothe main one
7/7/2010 11:09:13 AM
^ not sure I follow, but if your default screen is not the one you want, then you need to go to the launcher settings and change it. Not sure how this could have changed without some input. Also depends on what launcher you are using.I just set up AppBrain to sync from the web/phone. I LOVE IT.
7/7/2010 11:34:04 AM
^^press and hold on the google search bar, then drag it to the edge of the screen in the direction you want to move it, once the screen slides over to the page you want, you can release it and it will stay on that page.if it's gone entirely from your pages, press and hold the background, click on widgets, and add google search
7/7/2010 11:38:44 AM
^ yeah... for some reason I was thinking he meant the default screen. So just tested AppBrain syncing with the phone and I have to say that I am very impressed. No more searching the market from my phone. I have about 10 apps lined up to download now.... love it.
7/7/2010 12:23:37 PM
seems like a cool feature, but if i see an app i want on appbrain, i just hit the little button to display the QR code, scan that and i'm installing. doesn't seem THAT much faster to have them sent to my phone.

7/7/2010 12:53:53 PM
^^ yeah, I had the same thought... but the coolness of it triumphed. Anyone else hear TMo might be selling the Galaxy S early to compete with the Droid X launch? Sounds odd... I guess after the iFail debacle I will wait and play with one before buying it outright.
7/7/2010 4:39:39 PM
^^ The dude never even eluded in the video who he was or who he worked for. Best Buy would have done better to completely ignore the issue.

7/7/2010 6:26:55 PM
So who here has actually rooted their Evo? Not sure I see the benefits without a dope 2.2 rom. I keep putting it off and the longer I do, the more I want to accept an OTA update. Are they just disguising all the exploit patching with promises of fixing real issues or should I just stay at 1.32 until I get around to full root?
7/7/2010 8:31:17 PM
You should post that in the XDA forum for the evo
7/7/2010 10:02:43 PM
if there's interest, i've been playing around with photoshop alot lately and i was thinking about creating an entire NC State theme for Android here's just a quick wallpaper i whipped up, i wish i knew how to create a scrollable one, i just figured out how to create custom icons
7/8/2010 12:08:54 AM
^Any wallpaper is scrollable...you make a picture your wallpaper, it scrolls. But if you want to create wallpapers, I suggest learning how to resize pictures while maintaining aspect ratios...
7/8/2010 1:40:03 AM
oh i guess the kangerade ROM does something to make wallpapers unscrollable cause i tested it out on mine and it only scrolls the homescreens but the wallpapers themselves are all statici'm well aware about how to resize and in fact i had an original wallpaper setup to be scrollable with 3 homescreens with different text on each but since apparently i'd have to go back to stock to test it on my own phone i'm thinking maybe I'll just stick to the icons since that's common to all android sets/roms
7/8/2010 3:34:37 AM
^ Yeah, some launchers have that option to not scroll. Check the preferences.. I'm guessing you are using ADW?
7/8/2010 12:06:40 PM
pardon the quality, it was taken from an old theme i did back in the day when all anyone had was 1024x768, scaled up to Droid wallpaper size 960x854[Edited on July 8, 2010 at 12:54 PM. Reason : QR]
7/8/2010 12:50:50 PM
^ what did you take a picture of, just scanned the barcode and it looks like you snapped a photo of a wall/paper?
7/8/2010 1:00:27 PM
i resized an old wallpaper that i did for a theme for XP back in 2002, the blur is just from upscaling it. i might be able to find the old photoshop file on my desktop at home.here's the original resolution:[Edited on July 8, 2010 at 1:27 PM. Reason : QR]

Has anybody been keeping up with the Droid X giveaway on twitter? They are giving away 21 Droid Xs hidden across the country. They have clues to the locations on @droidlanding . They have given away 2 already.. 1 in NYC yesterday and another in Philly today.

whooops. I've had my phone in my pocket twice instead of the holster. Dropped it on the driveway the first time and chipped some of the paint off on the top. Dropped it today and have a crack across the search key. fml

For those running Cyanogen's CM6, I would suggest going to CM Settings > Performance > UNCHECK Enable surface dithering. This alone made the phone feel twice as fast, crazy.

^That touch-to-talk thing sounds great! Thanks. I heard of Vlingo, but would prefer to try a demo. Are refunds granted 100% of the time with Android? I'm just not sure how much I'd use it or if it is actually superior to the default Android voice recognition. I doubt I'd use the thing where it reads things to you.
