Obama does look whiny, but he's right. Also, CNN, MSNBC, and the rest did not start raping Bush's face until really late in the game. They had the awesome election/hanging chads story, which was great for them, but I'm sure many were bitter about the outcome. Then 9/11 happened, and Bush got a free pass for years.
9/28/2010 1:32:21 PM
Obama is not right. He just doesn't agree with Fox's slant on the news. He continually gives them credibility whenever he comes out like this. Obama thinks that everyone should like him and when they dont, hit hurts his feelings. and his butt. its very tiring. grow a thicker skin for fuck's sake. you are right about 9/11. it did spare Bush about 4 years of any criticism...but the last 2 years of his Presidency were brutal...probably unlike anything we have ever seen. undoubtedly, more conservative reporters are giving Obama the same treatment they saw the liberal ones give Bush. it will be like this the rest of our lives. every future President better get used to ignoring it.
9/28/2010 1:59:24 PM
lets look at the entire quote, which comprises less that 2% of the interview
9/28/2010 2:26:44 PM
it isnt as if this is the first time Obama has publicly complained about big bad Fox News. it has been a common theme of his administration over the past 2 years to blame Fox News for their problems...whenever his approval rating dips, they start beating the drums, blaming Fox News. it is tiring and unbecoming of a President. its also VASTLY overstating the far reaching powers of FOX to say they are "contributing to the destruction of the country." give me a fucking break. whiny bastard. if you dont see this his complaining as unnecessary, or at least petty and unproductive, I dont know what else to say to you other than "nice sock & sandal combo bro."
9/28/2010 2:35:25 PM
oh yeah, I got that line from a little movie classic called JOE DIRTif you werent such a dirty hippie liberal panty-sorter , maybe you wouldve had time to watch it.
9/28/2010 2:36:50 PM
obama answered a direct question in an interview.the correct answer, of course, is that fox news is teh suck. they're a mouthpiece for the GOP, an masquerade heavily biased opinion as journalism. Fox blatantly pander to the retards who can't exercise critical thinking skills as they work in dead end service jobs and remain tools for the republican party's "trickle down economics" why? because Glenn Beck is a godly man. that's why.of course not all Fox fans are retards. The multinationalist corporate executives shipping all your tech jobs overseas, love them. why? because policies supported by Fox News continue to widen the gap between rich and poor, eventually squeezing out the middle class.

fuck ya I am serious. it is a classic
9/28/2010 2:52:01 PM
I agree, but I didn't remember that linealso a big difference between the attacks on Obama and on Bush is that the latter largely relied on the truth
9/28/2010 2:56:57 PM
both Obama and Bush are douchebags. its pretty much a prerequisite to being President. the sooner you recognize that, the better off you will be.
9/28/2010 3:02:57 PM
So when all the GOP presidential primary candidates are on the Fox payroll (Huckabee, Palin, Gingrich, Santorum), will it be embarrassing for them, or glorious?
9/28/2010 10:38:11 PM
embglorious?Reagan was an actor before he was a president. It's embarrassing for America, if anything.[Edited on September 28, 2010 at 10:53 PM. Reason : ]

that got a bit of a snort. short bus jokes are always good for a chuckle.

11/5/2010 8:38:24 PM
But didn't you hear? It's costing the American taxpayer $200million A DAY for the president to be in India. Because Fox News said so many many many many many times so it must be true!
11/5/2010 8:49:36 PM
Don't forget the 34-ship India invasion fleet. How many billions is that costing?
11/6/2010 7:45:21 AM
^I believe that came from the Indian press corps. For "security" reasons the white house wont say how much the trip does cost. ummmm, ok.

11/7/2010 6:58:46 AM
One example of bias during their supposed regular news time:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bky0cXRj20
11/7/2010 8:40:44 AM
spooky, Im not saying 200M a day is accurate at all. I was just saying where the story originated.I also dont see a reason why they wont tell us the cost of the trip. (but really, does it matter?) People just want to compare to see if its grossly out of line with other presidential trips. Surely he is smart enough to not do that.
11/7/2010 9:01:06 AM
^ Gotcha. And I totally agree, I don't see why it should be such a big secret--I don't think that placing a price tag on a trip of this size would in any way endanger the president or his mission to drum up business for billionaires.
11/7/2010 9:38:03 AM
^so true
11/7/2010 4:42:50 PM
Can you show some examples of the White House releasing cost details of a trip like this before the trip?I'm just wondering if that's a commonplace occurrence that they're legitimately dodging or if this is just another "let's say he's a Muslim so he has to waste time denying it" distraction.
11/7/2010 5:03:03 PM
Here is a youtube playlist of a guy who points out Fox's many biased reportshttp://www.youtube.com/user/LiberalViewer#grid/user/A3BD2524FE99BD4D
11/7/2010 6:13:03 PM
Tims, Im not really sure where you can get that info. I have seen a couple segments discussing this issue talking about how much Clinton's trip and Bush's trips were. I seem to think they were a couple million each.
11/7/2010 8:14:02 PM
I can say with certainty that the following is true:1) If Obama had to snort a line of diamond-encrusted cocaine from DC to Mumbai, while stopping to down a fifth of Johnny Walker Blue Label at every mile, it'd still be 1/100th the cost of any real federal fiscal responsibilities.2) Security expenditures and the like are determined by non-political, hired positions. Thus, whatever the dollar figure is-- I'm willing to accept it as reasonable.

I just read that Beck's shows this week are detailing how Obama and Soros are conspiring together to destroy the dollar.
11/8/2010 9:25:02 PM
Well the dollar is certainly tanking, but listening to beck was probably where you went wrong.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2t5YSl44dU&feature=player_embeddedThe tutorial on money printing and commodities going up is spot on. It's just a shame he has to add all that other bullshit that his viewers eat up.The dollar isn't what I'd call tanking yethttp://www.bloomberg.com/apps/quote?ticker=DXY:INDIf it breaks the all time low then we have real problems. However, notice just how soon after the QE announcement everyone and their brother started having problems with it, with the MSM being complicit in the info-noise. This is a pattern that has been going on since the crisis, the deflationists talk up deflation, the market buys into it to set the state for fiscal/monetary stimulus. Stimulus happens, inflationistas start complaining about inflation, stimulus is pulled. Rinse and repeat.I don't actually expect we'll breach the all time lows on QE2, partially because other countries will race to devalue just as quickly as we can. Something somewhere else in the system (likely in China, but possibly in Europe) will crack before the dollar does.[Edited on November 8, 2010 at 9:40 PM. Reason : .]

Thanks for reminding me why I read Beck transcripts instead of watching video. Why the focus on agricultural prices? OH, OK-- that's the one index that supports his claim. This, on the other hand:
11/8/2010 9:51:25 PM
chance, I fear defaults starting in the next couple years and the continued printing, making our dollar worth less but also making us a shitty borrower too. I hope im wrong but it looks as if we start seeing some states default first bringing in more federal trouble which will put pressure on further printing.
11/8/2010 10:00:30 PM
^^ Try finding the commodity data that goes up to today, not stops at the end of July (or beginning, since we can't quite tell from a glance at your graph).Oh hell, you lifted that from Krugman. Fantastic. He couldn't be a bigger moron if he tried
11/8/2010 10:04:37 PM
Given that the inflation rate is a measure of commodities prices:http://www.tradingeconomics.com/Economics/Inflation-CPI.aspx?Symbol=USD..still below ideal. BUT OMG. COLLAPSE. IMMINENT.^ You're confusing rate of change with price.[Edited on November 8, 2010 at 10:16 PM. Reason : ]
