53So, former Superman actors that have appeared on the show:Teri Hatcher... checkDean Cain... checkTerence Stamp... checkChristopher Reeve... checkMargot Kidder... checkAnnette O'Toole... check, although not known until she told casting directorsam I missing anyone?
11/14/2010 5:53:19 PM
Michael Ironside, he just played Lois' dad, the general, also did the voice of Darkside on Superman: TAS.
11/14/2010 9:43:04 PM
That episode was fucking stupid. An old lady at an orphanage is training the young girls to wear tight leather clothes and fight with Freddy Krueger nightmare gloves? Come on now.And Clark was all "I can help you!" when he first discovered them but he didn't go back after he got free? He didn't want to stop the old lady? Or at least even investigate it further or anything?
11/15/2010 8:51:41 AM
^you obviously dont know what granny goodness is all about
11/15/2010 9:25:46 AM
desaad as a young good-looking dude threw me off bigtime
11/15/2010 12:05:35 PM
11/15/2010 4:42:09 PM
God damn Mrs. Aquaman was hot as fuck.
11/20/2010 12:11:24 AM
^fuck yes
11/20/2010 10:41:40 AM
Agreed, Mrs. Aquaman was amazing.Question though... maybe I missed it but how did Clark get out of the facility? He was surrounded by Kryptonite when it exploded. Same deal for Slade... I don't see how he survived. I rewinded a few times but it didn't even mention anything, it just went from the explosion to Clark throwing hay around in the barn.
11/20/2010 1:56:52 PM
I thought it was a bit abrupt too, but I didn't really think that it was anything that would actually kill him. Kryptonite doesn't really remove his powers, it just weakens them and he's still invulnerable to just about everything. They probably didn't have the budget to show exactly what happened, but I just assumed something like the explosion caused a hole in the ceiling that allowed him to go through or whatever. There are probably 1,000 different things they could have came up with to explain it, but yeah it is kind of weird that they didn't even bother mentioning how he actually did do it. And Slade didn't die because he's a Cylon. Duh.
11/20/2010 5:21:26 PM
so that was slade at the end. i didn't know who that was supposed to be
11/20/2010 6:26:58 PM
If they've shown Clark is really good at anything, it's getting his ass kicked while de-powered and then popping right back up the second whatever was causing the de-powering to occur was out of range. So I mean, ship explodes, kryptonite bars sink faster than Clark, Clark escapes and heals.Slade is probably not dead because of the ties with Darkseid. Plus, they've already shown they have ways to re-animate the dead.
11/20/2010 7:08:55 PM
I didn't care much for the episode overall, but the last scene with Clark explaining how Darkseid works and then the glimpses of Deathstroke...damn that was awesome. As far as how Slade survived, he's supposed to have healing powers. Not sure how they're going to explain how he has them considering this is a majorly different incarnation of the character.I think the actor playing this version of Slade was pretty good, I just can't picture him as Deathstroke.

Hmm, the December 3rd episode is entitled "Luthor." As one who does not like watch the previews of the next ep at the end of each show, I'm intrigued...
11/22/2010 6:18:50 PM
^I did watch the preview, and I am very excited for the next episode
11/22/2010 6:30:07 PM
Wow, good ep tonight although I think it would've served better as a two parter. The last scene left me quite puzzled and it will be interesting to see how this final season pans out!
12/3/2010 9:07:27 PM
Are you puzzled about the very last scene with Lionel? Think about the Phantom Zone and when all of the Phantoms escaped from it. They did because they followed Clark out of the Portal when he opened it. He definitely was reaching out for Clark when he activated the crystal. That's what I took from it at least. I, too, wish this would've been a two parter to know what the hell happened in Watchtower. It looked pretty bad ass, but alas no dice.
12/4/2010 12:32:07 AM
12/4/2010 2:26:15 PM
What puzzles me (and probably others) though is that since Lionel in the good universe is dead, what body did bad universe Lionel inhabit? It made it seem like you had to have a living counterpart for it to work and obviously good universe Lionel's body has been dead for a few years now.
12/4/2010 7:11:05 PM
^^that would have gone against the Alexander shaving his head scene from a few weeks ago. I think by the time they had filmed that scene they would have known if they were able to bring the original Lex back or not. That would have been just plain stupid to film on the possibility without certainty.^it kind of reminds me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 when they switched lives with the feudal Japanese guards witht he scepter.Regardless of how Lionel got there, that last line sent shivers up my spine. I am incredibly excited about this twist. The thing is, in the Clark Kent world Lionel had sort-of become good leading up to his death, or at the very least was more of an ally than an enemy. I know his love for Martha Kent had at least something to do with that, but do you think he could become an ally again?[Edited on December 4, 2010 at 8:52 PM. Reason : -]
12/4/2010 8:50:00 PM
He'll probably become Darkseid.
12/4/2010 8:59:36 PM
ok that episode went back to the realm of shitty that smallville was at the beginning of the season. i hope it's to make the connection to darkseid like you guys are speculating...
12/4/2010 9:18:08 PM
next week looks pretty good. hopefully some actual battles and not just a tease like last week when they showed the scene of oliver, tess, and lois with crossbows, but then no actual fighting
12/7/2010 7:28:52 PM
Of all the deaths that have occured on this show in 10 seasons, this was the most well done. He straight up said early on in the season that his time was near, but it was still an emotional moment. But what the hell happened at the end? What was that thing that rose from the sand?
12/13/2010 3:35:35 PM
so chloe is back
2/5/2011 11:14:53 AM
Damn I have two episodes to catch up on.

2/12/2011 10:45:19 AM
Excellent news! A series finale without Rosenbaum was just unthinkable.

Stupid episode.
2/26/2011 10:15:11 AM
Yeah, I really wish they wouldn't do these filler episodes in the final season.
2/26/2011 1:57:35 PM
Was part when Clark woke up supposed to be The Hangover: Smallville edition? It even did the same camera effect when he stood up.
2/26/2011 4:28:17 PM
^ and the same 'lets look at the camera' at the end
2/26/2011 4:29:31 PM
Smallville: Blood and Sand.
4/30/2011 7:33:08 AM
Smallville: 300.I actually kind of enjoyed last night, maybe because Zod was back. I always thought Callum Blue was awesome for the role. He was awesome in Dead Like Me, if only that show didn't get cancelled..
4/30/2011 4:24:55 PM
So the Legion of Doom?
5/10/2011 4:47:58 PM
Trailer for the finale from Space TV.It looks awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Co5Lo8Sr96o
5/10/2011 6:57:21 PM
Looking forward to the finale. I've been watching this show since I was a senior in high school and it's probably the only show that's lasted 10 yrs that I've kept up with. Even though it jumped the shark years ago it's gotten a little better in recent years and I'm kinda sad that it will be gone after Friday's episode.
5/11/2011 9:04:30 AM
potential spoilers
5/11/2011 4:22:45 PM
series finale on
5/13/2011 8:38:05 PM
The first hour is a will/they won't they wedding that we all know they will. Hopefully the 2nd hour will not completely suck like the first did. Talk about a waste of time. [Edited on May 13, 2011 at 8:51 PM. Reason : heh, right as I posted that shit started happening. ]
5/13/2011 8:50:30 PM
Alright, I'm trying to pay attention, but Christ, this is tedious. Why can Clark see Jonathan? Just because he's fucking superman? Is that just one of his powers now?
5/13/2011 9:04:39 PM
And we have lift off!
5/13/2011 9:51:47 PM
I can't believe they had a year to prepare and this is the best shit they could come up with. I guess they gave up on having anything even resembling a fight scene on this show. Complete and utter shit.
5/13/2011 9:59:34 PM
^fo realz yo. I was pleased to hear the music at the end but I know that fans everywhere were hoping for a decent fight scene with Clark in full costume. That would have been the epic climax that this show deserved. Follow that with Superman revealing himself to the world and giving some kind of inspirational speech to humanity then closing with sunrise over Earth as he flies over the planet like the ending of each movie and I guarantee every fanboy would have been happy.
5/13/2011 11:38:27 PM
I was more than pleased.I can't even fathom how you could watch Smallville for 10 years and expect an extended big budget fight scene. It's pretty much never happened. The closest the show ever got was the Doomsday fight and even that was one punch, a little super speed and explosion/"oh man, Doomsday is locked in the center of the Earth now". You'll get some speed effects, some super punches, and every so often bullet-time. That's about it.The only gripe I've been reading that I legitimately agree with is that it would've been nice if they'd done Welling in the real suit, but considering I've always read that he doesn't particularly like the suit and they'd have spent a bunch of money just to get 3 minutes of screen time would've been silly. I'd be interested to see what they left on the cutting room floor, as I'm sure they filmed something more involving Orion's Bow, but that probably got cut with Lex's return. That said, I'm really glad Rosenbaum came back though the typical Smallville amnesia was a bit of a bummer. I liked the idea of him realizing his role in everything was the villain, despite the fact that I'm pretty sure he gave a speech to pretty much the same effect before he died.
