BqG going East-West w/ a 9 game sked starting in 2016Maryland left the ACC to get in a division with Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn Stateand they thought the Carolina schools were a burden. LOL @ UMD
4/28/2013 1:53:57 PM
so we're just supposed to remember which are legends and which are leaders now?

hahahaha take that you broke fuckers.
11/19/2013 1:29:17 PM
I don't know why they thought they would've won. The conference agreed to the exit fee. Maryland decided to left. Seemed pretty straight forward.
11/19/2013 2:11:00 PM
maybe they should have decided to right?
11/19/2013 2:27:13 PM
Why does everything have to be left or right with you people? Whatever happened to the center?

If this happens UConn NEEDS to get to the Big East for bball. That will still be a power bball conference and actually has the advantage of not having to keep the dregs of college basketball for sake of football. At least one revenue sport would survive. Though ultimately they will probably end up in a major conference one day in the future (likely years down the road when the NYC battle is really fought -- and Syracuse doesn't really count).
1/18/2014 6:52:42 AM
Turtles leaving today.Of course I'm glad to see them go but today is the day that ACC gets laughed at if it tries to claim academic superiority (which has always been dumb to do anyway). On the plus side, State is now nowhere near the worst school anymore!!!

6/30/2014 11:34:29 AM
Didn't stop ACC in past and B1G still... But I agree.Shit basically the entire ND press release was about academics:
6/30/2014 11:36:25 AM
hey if the B1G wants to spout off about academics, good for them.they need to be good at one thing at least.

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/11321551/ncaa-board-votes-allow-autonomy-five-power-conferencesas crappy as realignment has been, at least the ACC remained in the "Power 5" (and FSU gives the ACC some cred for a few years). good night, sweet prince Big East...
8/7/2014 1:31:44 PM
WELL I'LL BE.
8/7/2014 6:04:01 PM

8/7/2014 10:33:37 PM
UConn back to the Big East. Makes sense.
6/25/2019 5:48:22 PM
does it? fucked their football program over, seemed like more sense for them hoping to join us with notre dame
7/2/2019 7:44:40 PM
It makes sense from their fans' perspective of them playing Villanova, Georgetown, Marquette, etc in basketball instead of Tulsa, UCF, etc. I don't think most of them care about football.
7/2/2019 7:52:33 PM
^ exactly, great move for them after completely screwing their one nationally relevant program (basketball) for the past half decade. Also, taking a look back at this thread someone posted this on page 5

I would guess WV to ACC seems realistic of the Big 12 dissolves. Maybe ND will finally join full time.[Edited on July 22, 2021 at 7:57 PM. Reason : Still wanna kick BC out, fuck them]
7/22/2021 7:57:28 PM
I may be wrong, but thinking of collegiate athletics/conferences through the prism of how things were until a few weeks ago is more than likely a lost cause there’s gonna be one big league that is made up of programs who are willing to buy into whatever the hell the league is
7/22/2021 8:13:32 PM
WVU fits geographically/historically with the big east teams, but man they really bring nothing else to the table. No TV markets, no great teams, nothing.
7/22/2021 8:38:35 PM
Bob Huggins' liquor cabinet has to be worth something.
7/23/2021 11:56:46 AM
without Texas and OU, the Big 12 isn't a power 5 conference. they could add...Cincy? Houston? Boise? WV to the ACC makes sense. Ok St to Pac 12?
7/23/2021 12:11:12 PM
Geographic fits mean less now than ever, the only reason to be in a conference is if you have rivalries with the teams or you like their media deals.
