This whole anti-hero thing has become way too Watchmen-ish.And the special effects are getting really disappointing...especially the falling billboard.
10/15/2010 1:38:41 AM
^I lolled at the windmill when Kara was trying to teach him how to fly. It looked like a cartoon.
10/15/2010 8:53:41 AM
Yep that's it...watchmen style...except a movie is limited in the length of time it can show the doubt in its characters before the moment where it has to have them having an epiphany and finding the self confidence within themselves or the right mentor or girlfriend figure to place faith In them. Tv shows can take forever to do this or use up all their money...whichever comes first...
10/15/2010 8:55:54 AM
And Oliver at the very end went all Tony Stark. Oy.
10/15/2010 9:46:07 AM
the billboard scene was quite hilarious.and oliver, WHYYYlois or kara?
10/15/2010 10:35:16 AM
tonights episode was AWESOME
10/15/2010 9:40:17 PM
Tonight's ep started out really bothering me because of the cliche of having a flashback ep in the final season. But, the second half of it did a 180 for me. I really enjoyed it, and without giving out any spoilers, I'm pretty sure what happened in the very last scene was a first for the series.
10/15/2010 9:54:09 PM
^Not so, there have been 2 other occurrences of said instance. Excellent episode though, loved it!
10/15/2010 11:21:01 PM
i fuckin love you smallville...it was only 1 episode too much in the dwelling on the past but it all made sense when i saw this episode. oh my I had so many feel good moments in this one episode, it makes all the shitty ones worthwhile!when he flew at the end with lois in his arms i just wanted to yell at the screen, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU CLARK![Edited on October 16, 2010 at 8:16 PM. Reason : .]
10/16/2010 8:14:36 PM
I too thought it was a great episode. I was worried it was a flashback episode, but the writers took a hint and flipped it into one of the best episodes. If the writing can keep going this strong, we are up for a great finale. III
10/19/2010 10:18:03 PM
I didn't like the interview with Oliver, he did well with it but it was not well written. Rest of the episode was great though.Glad to see Spike back in action.
10/20/2010 12:55:13 AM
Yeah... the interview was ok..I remember thinking as that scene opened that it would have to be an epic speech to smooth over the shitstorm he brought on himself. Instead he was like, I'm a hero bitches... WHAT!
10/20/2010 11:36:46 AM
10/20/2010 9:14:46 PM
wtf? you were jerking off at the end of this episode? that's gross dude...this was an emotional moment...not a jerkoff moment...
10/20/2010 9:29:52 PM
not
10/20/2010 9:51:25 PM
stop using inane references that you believe to be "pop culture"they're not.but thanks for the clarification. now i don't think you're a complete tool.
10/20/2010 10:07:46 PM
^rofl wtf lolyeah, that episode made me feel all warm and fuzzy insideweird
10/20/2010 10:42:31 PM
^^ that time of the month eh?
10/21/2010 7:02:45 AM
nah, too many friends using guido references that they made up and nobody else knows what the fuck they are talking about ever since that last south park episodewhen i saw it on here it was the last straw...lol
10/21/2010 10:02:33 AM
i wanted to fuck the shit out of lois in that dress at the beginning
10/22/2010 10:40:45 PM
did clark shoot that guy dead? powers or not, why is superman shootin' up folks?
10/29/2010 11:05:35 PM
He didn't shoot anyone, just fired a shot off into the air to get everyone's attention. On another note, what was the deal with him "dying" and then coming back to life after being buried? What's the deal with blue kryptonite again?
10/30/2010 11:38:30 AM
oh okay, i thought the dude in front of him was falling from getting shot. When the rest of the crazy folks (and their blue kryptonite bodies) left his grave he was able to heal himself. Blue kryptonite makes him lose all his powers.
10/30/2010 3:05:10 PM
So why did he still heal and get his powers back when the blue kryptonite fire fell on him at the end and all the townsfolk were still around?
10/30/2010 5:25:29 PM
he didn't, his back was all fucked up. it's just that he was still a little bit impervious that it didn't kill him, so everyone was in awe and backed off so he could heal.
10/30/2010 5:31:14 PM
yeah... but if blue kryptonite can make him lose his powers, getting soaked in flaming blue kryptonite should kill him...I know where they were going with it, but it still doesn't make sense
10/31/2010 4:39:19 AM
yeah and how does the kryptonite in the ground not take away his powers as well?
10/31/2010 4:40:50 AM
I guess the blue kryptonite was only in the water, not the actual dirt. When they walked away after burying him I suppose he wasn't fully dead yet and was able to heal.So how come when the fire fell on him and what not the blue kryptonite water inside the people weren't suppressing his powers? He was just as close to them then as he was when him and Lois tried to sneak out. Shit I'd think that the second they were found out he could have at least grabbed Lois and ran like 10 feet away until he got his powers back then just hit super speed. Oh well.
11/1/2010 12:07:41 PM
That's why his back was still burnt for a while until Lois yelled at them all to back away. Once they did, he healed up.I guess when they were trapped together in the building, there were people right outside the building so that even if he had his powers while in the building, the second he started speeding through the town he would've de-powered.(I mean, I agree with you it's very weird, just trying to frame it in a way that maybe it'll make sense)
11/1/2010 2:16:34 PM
I really liked this episode, especially the concept of taking away Clark's powers now that Lois openly knows about them.
11/1/2010 2:55:48 PM
So lets take bets on the finaleWill Clark be shown in costume? Getting ready to put the suit on? None of these?
11/1/2010 2:57:51 PM
They've already shown the costume.. I'm betting the last scene will be him flying around the daily planet in it.
11/1/2010 3:15:39 PM
I'm thinking it will show him flying around the Earth like it does at the end of every Superman movie, possibly while playing the Superman music.
11/1/2010 3:33:47 PM
I hope the finale is just called "Superman" as that would be a fitting title for the series finale. Although they initially said "no tights, no flights" I bet they abandon that rule in the end. I doubt the whole ep will have him flying around in costume saving people, but I bet they'll have him do his thing for maybe the last ten minutes. Then it will end with him either standing in costume next to the American flag or a close up of him flying around while playing the infamous Superman tune.Any thoughts on who should be cast for the new Superman movie? There was a poll on EW.com:http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/10/08/vote-for-the-new-superman/Tom Welling got 57% of the votes cast far exceeding the next closest, which was Matt Bomer (USA's White Collar) with only 13%.[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 5:51 PM. Reason : poll change]
11/1/2010 5:49:29 PM
Honestly I don't think Welling would do a bad job. He's definitely old enough now and he's been playing Clark Kent for a while now. The only thing about the Clark Kent he plays though is that he isn't dorky at all. If you look at the Clark Kent that Christopher Reeve played in the movies, he was a complete nerd.
11/2/2010 8:52:50 AM
11/2/2010 9:02:29 AM
It's really not a difficult concept: Blue Kryptonite = No Powers. The people were full of blue kryptonite from drinking the water for 20+ years so when they are around him, he can't operate. Like in the end of the last episode of last season where he is stabbed with blue kryptonite--he was basically dead. Lois pulled it out, he healed. As the people moved away from him, he began getting his strength back after the blue flame fell. It wasn't enough to kill him, but it fucked up his back while all the people were standing there.
11/3/2010 11:46:19 AM
I completely understand what they were going for, it just doesn't seem realistic..If being drenched in fire is enough to kill a regular person, it should be enough to kill a powerless clarkIf you want to argue he still had remnants of power left, fine... but he was surrounded by villagers, and I'm assuming the fire itself had blue kryptonite in it. I know what they were going for, but it just didn't make sense. This show is stupid
11/3/2010 12:04:42 PM
realistic?what about Superman is supposed to be realistic?
11/3/2010 3:43:07 PM
yeah.. I know.. I was actually gonna put that in " "You know what I mean though
11/3/2010 4:01:11 PM
I'm pretty sure that what toemoss is trying to say is that it's fine if the show is ridiculous just as long as it pertains to the already established rules of it's own universe. An alien who looks just like a human but can fly and lift up cars is kinda silly in our universe, but in the universe laid out by the Superman series, it's perfectly fine. Likewise, it has been already established that blue kryptonite essentially makes Clark human. The fire had blue kryptonite. By the rules that Smallville has established for how Clark reacts to it, he should have been killed just as much as a regular human would.
11/3/2010 4:28:12 PM
How many more episodes?
11/4/2010 7:58:27 PM
11/5/2010 4:31:40 PM
LUTESSA...seriously?!
11/13/2010 6:26:11 AM
and just when I was starting to like Tess's character...
11/13/2010 7:53:47 AM
11/13/2010 11:31:34 AM
ok, fair enough...In other news, the latest one was perhaps the worst episode ever. Who the fuck makes a tape to their kid saying "even though I'm going to leave a huuuuuge hole in your life when I die, try and love a guy anyways"I guess it was just setting shit up for clark to talk to Jor El (again....) and get a little pat on the back and say it's ok that he's fucking shit up, and basically just being a huge pussy...
11/13/2010 9:16:10 PM
11/14/2010 1:27:45 AM
I know it's a thing, it's what she says in it that bothers me
11/14/2010 10:34:50 AM
Yeah I zoned out during that scene because it was so lame
11/14/2010 5:52:55 PM
