So did the martin twins see all this writing on the wall and decide to go ahead and bounce?

The Fartin twins will be back.

Gott said at Abu's presser that over the last 2 seasons, over 1600 college basketball players have transferred. Something to keep in mind when a few select TWWers act like Gott is the only coach that loses players to other schools.put Coach K at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks and see if he keeps all of his players[Edited on May 19, 2016 at 9:26 PM. Hell Coach K and Calipari have players transfer now. Some kids are cool with waiting for their chance or earning PT, some kids expect greatness handed to them. Duke just had a 5* PG transfer out and Kentucky is losing a 4* guy. The Martin twins wanted to be the focal point of our team offensively, and they weren't consistent enough to do that. They were the type of guys that should be 4-year guys that really find their stride their 3rd and 4th season, so I expect they'll help ECU out plenty after sitting a year. If we took the Martin twins scholarships and turned those into Hicks and Yurtseven...then that's a win across the board.[Edited on May 19, 2016 at 10:23 PM. Reason : .]
5/19/2016 10:22:59 PM
We didn't turn their scholarships into anything, because we're still below the limit. And i think it's pretty silly to say they wanted to be the focal point of the offense.
5/19/2016 10:50:17 PM
^^^ the number he gave was for all of college basketball including d2 and d3. There are about 1100 teams. So that would be .72 transfers a year[Edited on May 19, 2016 at 11:07 PM. Reason : M]

5/19/2016 11:27:08 PM
^^He also said Michigan and Ohio State each had 4 transfers last year. And I can't imagine there are nearly as many transfers by some 6'3" white centers from one Division III school to another. But hey, if Gott has more than 0.72 transfers for the year, it means he can't develop players and has never taught defense.[Edited on May 19, 2016 at 11:28 PM. Reason : ^pwnt]

So you include grad transfers, something we do not have a problem with.....and completely differentNot apples to applesMaybe i was mistaken but i was told that the 1600 player number that was thrown out was for all of college basketball at all levelsTake away grad transfers and then lets see how we compare
5/19/2016 11:39:00 PM
5/19/2016 11:43:51 PM
Actually, no. It sounds like you are looking for a reason to to angrily mash keys on your keyboard. I'm just saying the fact that gott threw that stat out was pretty fucking weak since players taking advantage of newish grad transfer rule is completely different considering they will have likely played for the team 3 seasons etc. our guys stay 1-2Also those stats count players leaving D1 for d2, which again is not happening here[Edited on May 19, 2016 at 11:52 PM. I know this is an old link, but D1 to d1 non grad transfers accounted for only 30% of the transfer numbers in 2014.http://sports.cbslocal.com/2015/03/25/college-basketballs-transfer-problem/^ the mich situation was a bit different where albrecht was expected to retire and then decided to play again and they had no scholarships for him. Aubrey dawkins left to play for his dad and wasnt a starter. The other guys were depth. It'd be like if we actually had depth in our program and the 3 of the bottom 4 non-practice squad players on the roster left.[Edited on May 20, 2016 at 12:05 AM. Reason : M]
5/19/2016 11:59:23 PM
I think your underlying problem, aside from maybe needing to go for a swim, is that you think Gott is a shitty coach because not every 17 year old he recruits wants to live in Raleigh for 4 years. But how many incoming transfers has he gotten? If we're near the top of the NCAA in players who've left the program, we've gotta damn sure be one of the best schools for attracting transfers to come to us. No props to Gott for that though, of course.
5/20/2016 12:04:11 AM
My beef was his use of that statistic which is a copout. Had he just told people to fuck off when asked about transfers, i would have applauded[Edited on May 20, 2016 at 12:07 AM. Reason : M]

No, you wouldn't have. You are a Gottfried hater, and the cavalcade of good news over the past week has dusted some sand into your vagina. Admit it and move on. Nothing that could have happened since the season ended would have turned your opinion around and everyone knows it.

^^ actually I'm indifferent. I just think that using that stat was weak^Tbh the whole unc thing has soured me on college sports. I def give about maybe 20% of the fucks that I normally would give. I did celebrate the yurtseven signing, with a "Yes!"I mean I guess things could be worseZ. One of my friends is a big time colorado buffs fan. That has to suck[Edited on May 20, 2016 at 12:30 AM. He definitely got better. I argued his scoring went up because of volume also. People on here made it seem like more scoring = improvement. He did develop a decent mid range jumper and was able to do a better job running the show. I will acknowledge that I take probably a lot of my frustration out on here of being surrounded by mostly unc and duke fans in my life, both casual (but "diehard" when unc is good) as well as true diehard. Being a nc state fan is a true cross to bear.[Edited on May 20, 2016 at 12:37 AM. Reason : Z]

You remind me of a friend of mine who, in our older age isn't super pumped up about State sports like we once were, but he still gets just as pissed as ever at bad things. Well maybe not as ever, he has kids and stuff so he's not shattering TV remote controls against walls. But I don't understand psychology enough to have any more insight than that, other than some people are glass-half-full and some are half-empty generally speaking.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that "our" miserable-fucke-in-chief can't be happy with the amazing week we've just had, and instead has to continue bagging on "our" program.Dude can't just be happy and instead has to work every miserable angle he can.[Edited on May 20, 2016 at 1:05 AM. I swear Sandman probably got more upset at Gott's press conference "cop out" of pointing out that transfer numbers are high around the country nowadays, than he did when we lost to Duke to end our season.

Good shooter with athletic ability. Plays every position for his school. Quick release with a goodLooking shot. Will be a great addition and add good depth at pg/sg. 4 year type player. Should snag someOf Rowan's 3 point plays too. But better on defense. http://youtu.be/SreaalTjWzE
5/20/2016 12:32:04 PM
He's got a pretty sweet video...but most decent HS players can put together one of those. Good size with good height on his jump shot (which is important for white kids in college and pro ball). Will probably never play a meaningful minute for us...but you never know. We aren't using a scholly...but even if we were, we never use all 13 anyways, so I'd be okay with throwing him a bone.
5/20/2016 12:34:53 PM
5/20/2016 12:54:30 PM
Dude's got some serious lift on his jump shot. But yeah, doubt a walk-on will get many if any meaningful minutes, especially as an underclassmen. but he'll definitely help-out in practice.... and don't forget he has to beat-out Corchiani for back-up pg
5/20/2016 1:01:33 PM
they're obviously different players, but look at patrick wallace. he contributed meaningful minutes maybe one time (when he hit a 3 to send a game to OT, only reason he was on the court was guys fouled out). and if wallace had stayed all four years, maybe he could've contributed a few minutes here and there on last year's team only because that team was so thin.
