what does the rate of murders committed by blacks have to do with the killing of unarmed blacks by police and why would you adjust one for the other (unless you're a racist)

^ it's okay for a random black person to be more likely shot by police because of the actions of other black people. All black people have to take responsibility for all other blacks.

they're using crappy statistics that don't account for justified vs unjustified vs self defense, just if someone was killed by a cop. The site they used would record Freddie Gray the same as the Boston marathon bombers, simply an incidence of death by cop. To try to get some meaningful data out of that, you'd have to adjust somehow for the likelihood that the person killed by the cop was in the midst of committing a violent crime at the time of the shooting. It's still making a lot of assumptions, such as the shootings involving self defense or preventing a violent crime were not skewed along racial lines. The article seems to put a little bit more faith in the numbers than they should, but the numbers at the end seemed a little bit more important:Cops are 4 times more likely to get shot and killed by a black man than a white man, a black man is 3.5 times more likely to get shot and killed by a cop than a white man, and cops are 20 times more likely to shoot and kill a man than the other way around.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2016/05/11/former-north-charleston-officer-who-shot-walter-scott-indicted-on-federal-civil-rights-violation/In an unexpected move, the officer who shot Walter Scott was indicted by a grand jury. This probably wouldn't have happened with blacklivesmatter.

^^^ We have video of cops rolling up on tamir rice and shooting him without warning, and they didn't get charged. Also, we know it's rare for cops to get punished anyway, this is just a fact:http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/ferguson-michael-brown-indictment-darren-wilson/Things are changing because of the work of activists.
