i was referring more to JT3bucky, but yours is fine too. everyone is assuming that things are going to be fine b/c he was cleared to go to class, when in actuality the ncaa was probably just tired of taking a beating in the press for appearing to not value attending class.

want to talk about making shit up...when has the ncaa ever valued logic and not being hypocritical?

they've done this before. just look at kansas' roster. two guys this year are eligible after not being allowed to play last year (but attended the school). josh selby was allowed to attend class before being cleared. i think he was actually cleared school-wise but then later served a ban to start the year for illegal benefits

heard Giglio on the radio earlier...his speculation is that the NCAA is having to go over each of the core courses that Purvis took in HS, looking at course syllabuses, workloads, etc from all 4 of his years in school and seeing if everything is legit...optimistic feeling was that if they can take care of that before October (first practice) it shouldn't be a problem

^Maybe we can get the NCHSAA on the case. By the current rationale, that would be the appropriate governing body to deal with checking into college coursework. If not them, then the only other logical choice would be the IOC.

well yeah, that was announced earlier this week. the ncaa cleared him to attend classes w/o threat of losing eligibility, but he wasn't cleared to play basketball. whatever that means.
