Mr. Cooper seems relatively successful, and like he has resources available to him. Imagine if the victim was just a poor black guy without a lawyer or funds for bail. He would likely be sent to Rikers (currently going through an awful COVID-19 outbreak), have to wait weeks or months for a trial, and risk death from some virus he picked up in jail.

So my comment is more to a bigger picture of people getting fired for shitty behavior that has nothing to do with their jobs. Thanks to social media, this sort of thing seems to be happening quite a bit. Does the bad behavior impact your work specifically? It's like being fired for being an alcoholic even though you have a stellar work record.

Does that make sense?

I'm not trying to excuse this lady's behavior at all. EMCE, she should be charged with whatever they can throw at her for making false claims (I don't even know if you can be charged).

If I’ve learned anything it’s that this is a riot, not protest. Also these are paid protestors rioters. And they don’t have jobs because any reasonable adult human doesn’t have time to protest riot because they have jobs and responsibilities. And they should just comply with the orders of the cops and security, if they don’t they should definitely be tear gassed and arrested and even probably should be tear gassed even if they do comply and are peaceful.

But one thing the article doesn't explain is why they think there's something to hide. It almost sounds like, given the mixture of the types of documents buried, that the town chose burial for convenience.

Maybe convience? My initial thought was that whoever wanted the documents gone didn't want to also destroy evidence before pending litigation, or violate state laws on record keeping. They figured if the documents got "lost" under a foot of dirt, it's not destroying them.
