50 win season

What a season. Even finishing 10-6 would have been about the upper end of my expectations coming into the year. A chance to win the division and have the second seed is just unbelievable. The best part is with Cam's continued improvement and the talented youth on defense, we look setup to be a competitive team for the foreseeable future. I'm still not entirely sure about this coaching staff but they've definitely done a better job this year. If Gettleman can find Cam some receivers this is a downright dominant team next year.

In my opinion the thing that separates this team from the last few years teams is turnovers. It has been a long time since I have cringed watching Cam take off with the ball, scared of the impending fumble. Smitty also had a nice run of making a first down catch then fumbling the damn thing. We have lost 2 fumbles all year... 2!!!Cam has thrown 11 picks, a number of which were horrible decisions and cost us competitiveness in early games, but his growth this year has been amazing. He is making pre-season Cam apologists look like scholars. ============I think the RB situation is something that will need to be addressed for next year. Barner is going to need a lot of work to be serviceable and who knows what kind of future Stewart has. I absolutely love Tolbert but he is not built to be a feature back or even a 1a option. Deangelo seems disinterested in working for extra yards. He had a hell of a game yesterday, but if you take away that one screen pass his awesome day just becomes an awesome day only compared to the rest of his mediocre performances. Anyone else sick of the 1st down handoff to 34 that ALWAYS gains anywhere from 0-2 yards?D line is amazing. Getting Hardy locked up is not the absolute necessity that it seemed to be earlier in the year. Star and Short are studs. I love this team. It has been a long time since I have been able to look forward to sporting events as much as this. If we can lock down that bye and guarantee Panthers football through mid-January I will be elated. tl;dr but where I live the only Panther fan I know/see regularly is my brother. The pathetic part of that is that I live in NC

It has been an amazing season and they completely blew away my expectations. We need a little bit of O-line and corner help too and they would be a juggernaut to deal with.About the backs, I think Tolbert is a good 1A with DeAngelo starting. It's always to good to have a change of pace between the two main guys with one being a shifty player and the other a bruiser. I think Stewart ends up traded or cut. Running backs are so devalued in general now that if you have a guy that is chronically injured it is just easier to move on and find someone else than try to deal with that problem.I'd love to be able to grab a Mike Evans or Kelvin Benjamin near the bottom of the first round. Evans reminds me so much of a young Vincent Jackson.EDIT: A big part of running on first down is controlling the clock. Sure they aren't busting it too much but it is almost always a positive first down play and keeps the other team off the field.[Edited on December 16, 2013 at 11:25 AM. Reason : ...]

you read Barnwell's piece last week?it's pretty much impossible to cut or trade Stewart:
12/16/2013 12:08:17 PM
Should have probably said that Tolbert is a great 1b guy, but we need more out of our 1a back. Deangelo does almost seem scared of contact. There was one play last night that really pissed me off. I think it was an outside toss near the goal line(probably the one Jeepin had on his mind when he made that post above) where he decided to just pop out of bounds instead of cutting up for a chance at the first down. Meh, I am probably just trying too hard to find stuff to complain about since I am a State fan.
12/16/2013 12:57:48 PM
lol @ you people. now coming aroundsooooo next week's game wont be flexed. BS.
12/16/2013 1:09:06 PM
league rules, dawgFox and CBS get to protect one game a week from being flexed, and Fox chose ours
12/16/2013 1:24:51 PM
yea I know . I just wanted something to complain about. fact : Steve Smith hadn't caught a TD pass since week 6 I believe.
12/16/2013 1:30:43 PM
I thought playing New Orleans on SNF was bad luck or something?
12/16/2013 1:35:19 PM
looks like we are safe for 1pm start. Apparently it requires 12 day notice for games to be flexed (including between 1pm and 4pm start times)]
12/16/2013 1:39:19 PM
NBC wouldn't put the same matchup on SNF 2 weeks from one anotherespecially two NFC South teams that don't have a Brady or a Manning
12/16/2013 1:48:04 PM
We want to the play Saints as far away from prime time as possible. 1PM start is perfect.
12/16/2013 2:44:27 PM
Amazed people thought there was a chance this game would be flexed. Probably the same folks who were shocked our game yesterday was on CBS.
12/16/2013 2:47:14 PM
i knew we wouldn't be flexed into prime time. I just didn't want a 4pm start due to an obligation later that night. It saves an argument with my mom over why I wasn't at family Christmas
12/16/2013 3:06:03 PM
12/16/2013 3:20:20 PM
Opened as 3 point favorites too
12/16/2013 3:20:52 PM
wish I could see if the kid was as intense
12/16/2013 5:45:10 PM
12/16/2013 6:05:25 PM
If we didn't get our asses kicked so bad last Sunday night it might be flexed, but NBC doesn't want two blowouts in 3 weeks involving the same 2 teams. I don't think it being the same matchup has anything to do with it. If the game in NO ended with a last second TD where the extra point gave the Saints a 1 point win, I could easily see them flexing next week's game.]
12/16/2013 7:15:43 PM
goodlife wrote earlier on this page that it isnt flexed because networks can protect one game a week from NBC and they chose this one. It never had a chance to be moved.I'm assuming this means we are getting Buck/Aikman on Sunday too?
12/16/2013 7:24:16 PM
yep, that was announced last weekI even posted about it
12/16/2013 7:25:46 PM
chances management lets us go with the all blacks again for this one?
12/16/2013 8:27:33 PM
i think you have to announce your jersey color schedule before the season begins, so the away team can plan their jerseys. you can probably find the schedule online somewhere, but i doubt you can change it last minute.EDIT: http://www.panthers.com/news/article-2/Will-Panthers-be-back-in-black/90306f1a-bef5-4f2d-bc9a-18f5f0e97d1aEDIT 2: Nevermind that is talking about jersey tops only[Edited on December 16, 2013 at 8:44 PM. 12/16/2013 8:44:04 PM
yeah, that's all planned before the season. i'm talking all blacks.
12/16/2013 9:18:17 PM
I doubt we go all black again considering the traditionalist that Big Cat is.It would be cool to bust them out for a home playoff game though.
12/16/2013 9:21:20 PM
Probably been posted before, but from a comment in ^^^^'s link:those would be awesome

such a sexist bastard, why does he assume the little girl wants the pink shoes?

i didn't read the article but based on the url it sounds like he dicked over some sporting goods storetypical thug
12/17/2013 9:23:43 PM
we do need the black helmets and our DBs are a liability but i think we win out and get that first rd bye
12/18/2013 8:23:15 AM
you guys are completely overlooking our habit of shitting the bed in the Georgia Dome.
12/18/2013 8:24:12 AM
The game is in Charlotte what does the Georgia dome have to do with charlotte
12/18/2013 8:28:30 AM
Uh because next weeks game is in Atlanta?
12/18/2013 8:33:26 AM
I didn't even consider that we still have a shot at the #1 seedIf we win out, the 49ers win out, and Seattle loses to STL and Zona the playoffs come through Charlotte. Back to back Seahawks loses is very unlikely but both of those teams have the capability of winning.EDIT:
12/18/2013 9:20:56 AM
They might not like Carolina, but they hate the Saints more. Rolling over helps that out two fold - Saints don't win the division and they help their draft pick status.
12/18/2013 9:38:06 AM
^wow, I didn't realize that was still a possibility. I have zero hope that will come to fruition though, considering the fact that Seattle's last two games are at CenturyLink. Considering the fact that RW has never lost there, I just don't see how they'd drop both of them.
12/18/2013 9:46:01 AM
^^ I kind of want Matt Ryan to still play just so Hardy can blindside spear him one good time and send him into the offseason right^ I agree it's a longshot, I'm going to continue to cheer for that result until it becomes impossible though.[Edited on December 18, 2013 at 9:57 AM. Reason : ...]

^The way Brown played last week for the Saints, not really surprising. Probably an upgrade for them right now, Quinn was killing Brown last week. OL seemed to play better in the 2nd half when he was replaced.
12/18/2013 10:15:34 AM
Hey rook, your first assignment is Charles Johnson. Good luck with that.
12/18/2013 12:01:22 PM
Haha his first assignment was last week against Quinn actually, the #2 guy in the league with 15 sacks. Had 2 sacks on Brown, none after Brown was benched.
12/18/2013 12:34:17 PM
12/18/2013 12:37:19 PM
it is possible because in that scenario, SF wins the West
12/18/2013 12:41:31 PM
