^^ what feels good? Not winning trophies?
3/3/2012 9:48:36 AM
Well, I don't think anyone would argue against the fact that it's far more crucial for a big club to make the Champions League than it is to win the Carling Cup -- both financially and in order to keep/draw big names to your club.[Edited on March 3, 2012 at 9:52 AM. Reason : x]
3/3/2012 9:52:00 AM
A Carling Cup trophy qualifies Liverpool for the Europa League. Fourth place, or third place if Tottenham chokes, means Champions League football for Arsenal.
3/3/2012 9:59:03 AM
HAHAHAAHA Liverpool are such scumbags, not a likable player on their team. And i have irrational hatred for Dirk Kuyt. JVery happy to steal 3 points today
3/3/2012 10:05:05 AM
It's a major long shot, but it would be amazing if Arsenal ended up catching Spurs after the way this season has gone
3/3/2012 10:15:34 AM
Bye Bye AVB go back to Portugal where your skills seem to work.
3/3/2012 11:59:07 AM
See ya AVB.Rafa for Chelsea.

anybody watching Sunderland-Newcastle?why is Pardew being such an asshole gloating to MON about everything?
3/4/2012 8:58:20 AM
My favorite part is the end where he peels back his sock to reveal the carnage that has been unleashed on his leg.
3/4/2012 9:20:22 AM
Bale, VDV and Parker all out. Very likely a four point gap between 3rd and 4th after the day.[Edited on March 4, 2012 at 11:49 AM. Reason : correct call, but tough break for Adebayor]
3/4/2012 11:06:44 AM
who da fuck want what
3/4/2012 11:58:13 AM
wow Spurs, schoolboy defending
3/4/2012 12:29:38 PM
I do believe someone's pulled the plug on Spurs' season
3/4/2012 12:48:55 PM
5-2 will be spurs waterloo 'Arry for EnglandCome on You Gooners lets get 3rdSt. Totteringham's Day still alive
3/4/2012 1:05:52 PM
After Harry looked devoid of ideas during that 5-2 loss, why would you want someone like that coaching England?
3/4/2012 1:15:17 PM
Spurs best season in about 50 years is Arsenals worst, and the difference is 4 points, 1 spot in the league, a 5-2 derby day drubbing, and a +2 goal differential. Class.
3/4/2012 1:24:35 PM
^^ in 'arry's defense, they were without VDV, Bale, and Scott Parker today. That's like United being without Rooney, Ronaldo, and Scholes from the 08/09 season.England will be OK with 'arry because he won't have to wheel or deal to select the best players, and he won't have to settle for crap players. You can say all you want about the guy being like a used car salesman, but for the most part he gets the best out of his players.

3/4/2012 8:10:24 PM
Lol, the only non-British manager back then was Irish.
3/4/2012 8:53:48 PM
^^ youre right it's not arsenals worst, it's their 2nd worst. my apologies internet tough guy.
3/4/2012 10:17:26 PM
3/4/2012 10:26:28 PM
At least Harry has a £35M world class striker at his disposal. Laugh all you want but Theo has nearly as many league goals in the last week then Carroll does all year.
3/5/2012 7:48:25 AM
OHHHH YOU TOLD MEWhy is everything so tribalistic on here? It's like everybody has to defend their team's players against any and every attack at all times. Walcott is not an international caliber player no matter how many more goals he scores than Carroll. Who gives a fuck?
3/5/2012 7:52:56 AM
Well they will be two of the most controversial likely selections that the new manager will have to make thanks to Rooney. If Torres was English I would have destroyed him.I actually think Oxlade-Chamberlain could be selected over Walcott fwiw.
3/5/2012 8:01:37 AM
I feel like Walcott is a class player who is out of form and possibly discouraged from being played out of position and in a tactical setup that doesn't suit him. Let's not forget that he grew up as a striker and was converted to the wing later on. If you're a striker and you have the best out and out striker in the world on your team you are simply not going to get much playing time. His physical attributes are suited to wing style play but sometimes that's not enough. He's not the worst wing player ever but even mediocre form is going to earn him criticism. He played higher up the pitch against Spurs and absolutely put them to the sword. His 1-on-1 finishing is generally good and he has excellent composure in situations where he's not directly pressured by the defense. His speed means that in an open game he's game to get at least a few of those chances. In a system where he has little defensive responsibility and license to run the channels I think he would do pretty well actually. His perceived poor play is due to the relatively high expectations placed on him and being out of form. How many other players playing in a wing position would be considered to have had a poor season with 13 goals and 11 assists in 40(14) games (Walcott last season)?Walcott is kind of like the Freddy Adu of England in regards to media expectations. He's 22 and he's been to 2 World Cups for fuck's sake.[Edited on March 5, 2012 at 11:56 AM. Reason : ]
3/5/2012 11:49:52 AM
They had a comparison between Walcott and Bale over the weekend somewhere and Walcott has been involved in more goals than Bale. Of course that is much easier to do with an in form world class striker finishing from all angles..[Edited on March 5, 2012 at 11:55 AM. Reason : This prem season -- I'll try and find]
3/5/2012 11:55:26 AM
3/5/2012 11:55:48 AM
I encourage you to look at the types of goals he tends to score and how good they look when he's on his game.
3/5/2012 11:57:27 AM
He scores some pretty good goals from the right and he has great skills, it's the decision making that sometimes makes his play flat. Then again, like you said, he's only 22.
3/5/2012 12:03:35 PM
I'd like to see what he could do cutting inside from the left but he's also got the ability to snipe out shots on goal across the keeper from the right. I agree his decision-making isn't the best. I feel like he suffers from the same dilemma as Aaron Lennon does. They're able to beat defenders for speed so often that they don't necessarily have to make good decisions all the time. When these two guys lose a half a step in a couple years and can still easily beat 80% of defenders for speed they are going to become lethal.
3/5/2012 12:07:11 PM
If he could pull stuff like this off all the time, he'd be world class. He just seems to disappear in some games. Ditto on the Lennon comparison.(I don't know if this gif will work, never hotlinked from minus before)]
3/5/2012 12:44:31 PM
Do things like dive and then score while the other team stands around waiting for a whistle?
3/5/2012 2:14:55 PM
way too much credit for Walcott ITTHe's obviously not the worst player in the world but come on, a few goals against Mighty Spurs do not change the fact he's been shit in quite a few games this year.
3/5/2012 2:26:12 PM
I believe he's quite shite.
3/5/2012 2:35:18 PM
^^^ Wasn't a dive.^^, ^ Form is temporary, class is permanent.
3/5/2012 2:42:31 PM
His form has permanently been at the level of somebody who is not a world class player. Do you watch Arsenal when they aren't beating the fuck out of Spurs or what?
3/5/2012 2:48:45 PM
Oh yeah, my bad. I forgot he was dropped for the last one. Whoops. But still. What other player can have 13 goals and 11 assists in 40 games with 14 subs playing as a wide player and not be rated?
3/5/2012 4:04:38 PM
I cannot fathom that people are in here defending Theo motherfucking Walcott
3/5/2012 6:43:06 PM
haha that was about as clear a dive as youll see...walcott sucks[Edited on March 5, 2012 at 6:51 PM. Reason : he was already supermanning before cole gets to him.]
3/5/2012 6:50:05 PM
Why would he immediately get back up without looking at the ref for a call if it was an intentional dive?
3/5/2012 7:14:05 PM
You write the caption
3/5/2012 8:58:51 PM
Oh look, a nickel!
3/5/2012 9:20:33 PM
can someone please give me a quick refresher on how the knockout round of 16 works with Arsenal already having lost 0-4?
3/6/2012 2:50:36 PM
they have to win 5-0.
3/6/2012 2:53:36 PM
