50-team conferences]

Sad day for college basketball when the best basketball conference of the past decade has to dissolve because its only number 5 or 6 in football. Damn.
12/13/2012 10:58:20 PM
Looks like UConn will be relegated down to mid major status where they belong
12/13/2012 11:34:58 PM
they'd still kick our a---- oh, wait
12/13/2012 11:46:24 PM
it's okay, uconn will be in the acc eventually.hopefully nc state is not in the acc at that point.
12/14/2012 12:08:47 AM
I dont think they will ever be. It's obvious that the ACC would only do it if they had absolutely no choice. I could see them adding cincinnati and having an uneven division football conference with even team numbered divisions for basketball (ND)
12/14/2012 12:18:57 AM
12/14/2012 12:23:30 AM
The only way you would get me to add UConn is if you offered a straight swap of them for BC.Of course, I'd probably take a straight swap of South Alabama for BC.
12/14/2012 4:09:38 AM
when the acc loses four more schools, uconn will be a no brainer.

^ TOO SOON
12/14/2012 7:31:37 PM
How ironclad is this Notre Dame contract to join the ACC? A league strong in the northeast and upper Midwest made up of at the moment a lot of Catholic schools and they won't have football so Notre Dame would never be pressured to join their football league? That's Notre Dame's dream. It's not like the ACC brought them in for their basketball or hockey teams. Not saying it's likely to happen, just on the surface it makes sense to me.[Edited on December 16, 2012 at 11:56 AM. 12/16/2012 11:54:51 AM
^At the same time they are set to be playing in one of the most storied basketball conferences in the nation. Who wouldn't want to play in a league with Duke, UNC, Syracuse, and an up and coming NC State program?
12/16/2012 12:26:39 PM
newsflash no one cares about basketball. they want to keep their football revenues.BTW, i havent kept up with this much. What's the reason the ACC hasn't taken UCONN? How many more teams do we need right now?[Edited on December 16, 2012 at 12:37 PM. Reason : a]

12/16/2012 1:46:41 PM
12/16/2012 7:05:42 PM
oh they'll add plenty soon enough.

There are a lot of really fucking dumb neanderthals in this country. That's the only explanation why more people would watch that game than the awesome Butler-IU game.[Edited on December 17, 2012 at 7:01 PM. Reason : and i know the ending was good in that bowl]
12/17/2012 7:01:30 PM
when we live in the bizarre football dystopian future one day we'll look back on the conference apocalypse as the start of it all[Edited on December 17, 2012 at 7:35 PM. Reason : .]
12/17/2012 7:35:02 PM
the nfl is now actively advertising that football is safe for children to play. they see the writing on the wall. this ship is sinking b/c parents aren't letting their kids play.
12/17/2012 8:43:54 PM
okay that is completely ridiculous. How can an irrelevant bowl outdraw the #1 team in CBK? Particularly in a close game where they get upset... makes no sense at all...
12/17/2012 8:47:18 PM
12/17/2012 8:47:47 PM
I love football and always have... but I find it hard to believe that a sports fan would rather watch that game then the Butler game. It was fantastic.
12/17/2012 8:50:39 PM
what was the rating for the Potato Bowl?
12/17/2012 8:53:25 PM
I just wish this shit would go back to the way it was about 3 years ago.

and most people probably wouldn't have thought to watch butler/IU until the last few minutes anyway. the whole game might've been great, but i'm guessing a lot of people wouldn't think to turn it on until they heard IU might lose. i think that could explain more than the first bowl game of the season because it really was a who gives a flying fuck bowl[Edited on December 17, 2012 at 11:24 PM. 12/17/2012 11:23:51 PM
mehone was nationally broadcast on network tv while the other was on cable (I realize that this isn't a huge deal in 2012, but there is still a difference)it's ridiculous
12/18/2012 1:16:47 AM
half of tdub doesnt have cable or satellite and relies on frontrowsports.eu for anything not on network television
12/18/2012 1:35:59 AM
werent they both on espn channels?
12/18/2012 6:28:05 AM
12/18/2012 8:34:02 AM
^Right. I happen to prefer basketball, but that doesn't justify ad hominems.
12/18/2012 8:43:35 AM
^^^ basketball game was on CBS, bowl game was on ESPN
12/18/2012 12:56:01 PM

You sunk my Big East. They'll probably just add NCSU and be fine.
12/31/2012 4:30:50 PM
^^ yeah, that's how I feel about college football[Edited on December 31, 2012 at 4:36 PM. Reason : I watch more than just NC State but not many ]
12/31/2012 4:35:59 PM
thats how I feel about any college sport that doesnt involve nc state or have a direct influence on states well being (other than playoffs/championships)
12/31/2012 4:44:25 PM
the concessions given to Boise are absurd. the latest to come out is that Boise will get 50% of all bowl money and the rest will eb split between the other 10-11 membersthat's just crazy.
12/31/2012 6:16:16 PM
if that's true, the MWC deserves what it gets
12/31/2012 6:28:31 PM
Even Boise doesn't want to be in the Big Least
12/31/2012 7:06:32 PM
I think this is more of a case of the MWC willing to get bent over. and they did. hard.
12/31/2012 7:22:56 PM
Hahahaha Uconn talking about having to move to the MWC in basketball and football
1/14/2013 9:51:57 AM
Let's go ahead and leave the ACC now that we've beaten #1 Duke.
