Personally, I'm very interested in these public hearings to hopefully give a proper accounting for history, but I'm less than optimistic that it can sway anyone's opinions. Seems more likely to just deepen the Deep State in the minds of conspiracy nuts, no matter how factual, unemotional, and compelling the presentation may turn out to be. Newt Gingrich was on Laura Ingraham after the hearing and mentioned the story that Trump asked Pelosi to authorize 20,000 National Guard troops for Jan 6 but Pelosi turned him down. Laura actually stopped him to remind him that Pelosi and others deny that ever happened. Newt's response: We know that Trump did in fact make the suggestion BECAUSE Pelosi turned it down--You can't turn down something that was never offered.

For the most part, I thought it was presented very well and was very powerful. Maybe a little over- dramatic at times.... of course, it's was/is a very dramatic situation, but that will just make some even quicker to dismiss it. But it only takes perusing some social media (and watching Fox) after the hearing to see that nothing is going to change the mind of the defenders of the riot and Trump supporters. No matter how many videos are shown, how many facts are presented, how much testimony is given (even from family and Trump-appointed people) it's not going to make a difference to their narrative. But of course it needs to be done, and documented, and hopefully it will result in something.
