Nah there's always been flu outbreaks on sports teams
12/2/2021 4:10:57 PM
Yeah I guess so. Just seemed like it was maybe talked about more this year but I’m probably wrong
12/2/2021 4:13:39 PM
12/3/2021 1:01:46 AM
Jesus that’s a bad accent lol
12/3/2021 6:57:34 AM
such a bummer to see the OAN coach miss out on the playoff by one yard
12/4/2021 4:56:49 PM
Georgia, you had one job, now we're going to have to see Alabama in the damn playoff again
12/4/2021 6:48:24 PM
^^ why are you talking about your favorite news network in Sports Talk?
12/4/2021 8:25:27 PM
So are we locked in with Bama, Georgia, Cinci - then Michigan if they win and ND if they lose?Gives us:Bama v Cinci or NDGeorgia v Michigan Anything else could happen?
12/4/2021 8:47:12 PM
Yeah with OK State losing today, that’s gonna be the 4.
12/4/2021 9:34:13 PM
12/4/2021 9:52:50 PM
Yeah honestly they should probably rule him down where he started that bullshit
12/4/2021 10:43:56 PM
Hartman having a night.
12/4/2021 11:25:11 PM
I would prefer Bama/UGa in the semis to avoid the rematch in the finals. But I don’t see it happening
12/5/2021 7:38:27 AM
I thought it was funny how quick RG3 and the other announcer changed their tune from "dude, that was so cool!" to "hmm, maybe that is an illegal play"Pitt and Baylor were two of the teams I wanted to see win, but Bama winning threw off everything. Normally not a ND fan but I was kinda rooting for them cause of what Kelly did
12/5/2021 9:47:18 AM
Sounds like Venables to OU is probably happening after all. Also sounds like UVa might be going after Tony Elliott (Clemson’s OC).
12/5/2021 12:04:06 PM
And Cristobal to Miami even though manny Diaz hasn’t been officially been fired. Lol
12/5/2021 12:46:01 PM
^^^^^^^I don't know that it is dirty, but I've always wondered why QB's didn't do that.
12/6/2021 7:00:52 AM
If the QB even starts a slide. Which Kenny did. He is down. That's why players don't come flying at QBs
12/6/2021 8:15:29 AM
Feels like a huge judgment call for refs to make but I agree that in theory you should be considered down when the slide “starts”. But the last thing we need in CFB is another play to be reviewed for 8 minutes each game. It’s only ever happened once as far as anybody knows right? Until it really becomes a problem I don’t know that it needs addressing
12/6/2021 9:55:38 AM
^I can see that perspective. I do think this may become more commonplace now with as much as it was highlighted, but until it is no rule change should be made.
12/6/2021 10:12:13 AM
It also looks like somebody is gonna try that move and totally blow out their knee.
12/6/2021 10:14:53 AM
yea, he knew what he was doing. Also, he could have easily said he was just trying to juke or tripped. hell of a play tho. Wake stopped for a reason. I feel like as soon as a QB gets blown up trying it. it will be less likely.
12/6/2021 10:40:21 AM
I mean he said he did it intentionally in the post game press conference.
12/6/2021 11:08:06 AM
There will be more targeting calls and more QB injuries because of this, and I for one can't wait for the analysts and commentators complaining about it when this inevitably comes.
12/6/2021 11:13:53 AM
^exactly
12/6/2021 11:32:31 AM
Diaz out. Cristobal to Miami. And Clemson’s AD to Miami. What a wild cycle this has been. In some cycles VT might be the biggest job open. It’s like the 10th biggest job this cycle lol
12/6/2021 11:42:30 AM
12/6/2021 1:40:58 PM
Sure but not unrealistic either. I’m not arguing that it’s great job. Mostly just commenting how wild it is that LSU, UF, ND, USC, Oregon, Miami, OU (maybe somebody else big I’m forgetting) all opened this year.
12/6/2021 2:13:20 PM
I'd say TCU is also a better job, maybe Washington as well.]
12/6/2021 2:22:37 PM
Pitt OC Mark Whipple resigned out of nowhere today
12/8/2021 12:10:10 AM
12/8/2021 8:48:17 AM
I honestly have no idea how to rank a Big 12 job now with OU and UT leaving. But for the most part I think ranking jobs is kinda impossible. You can put them into tiers. And from there it’s all about preference for a potential coach (location, style, current dynamics of conference/division, etc).
12/8/2021 9:23:35 AM
I mean TCU has won 2 national championships (plus 2010 where they were undefeated and won the Rose Bowl.) They are in Fort Worth which is no doubt easier to recruit to than a tiny mountain town in the middle of nowhere.
12/8/2021 11:07:55 AM
high school recruits really value those championships from the 1930s
12/8/2021 12:00:54 PM
talent in Texas >>>>>>> talent in Virginia
12/8/2021 12:28:22 PM
12/8/2021 12:47:01 PM
12/10/2021 9:22:36 AM
And Tony Elliott officially to Clemson. So Clemson is replacing their OC and DC (and AD)
12/10/2021 2:47:27 PM
And they still have their not great QB. And their backup QB is transferring.
12/10/2021 2:57:40 PM
Bringing in a 5* but don’t know how much you can expect from a true freshmen. Definitely not saying their run has ended. But I don’t think they’re gonna automatically gonna be top 5 again next year. Dabo’s reluctance to use the transfer portal might be (in part) catching up to him
12/10/2021 4:32:50 PM
Texas A&M pulling out of bowl game. hahaha Wake.
12/22/2021 1:40:21 PM
Wake Forest, gator bowl champions
12/22/2021 5:05:18 PM
Well the do still have to pass the mighty hurdle that is... checks notes 5-7 Rutgers. So, yeah. Wake Forest, Gator Bowl champions.
12/23/2021 8:37:27 AM
Kinda hilarious that rutgers was sitting at home, ready to enjoy their Christmas. Then they’re like “hey would you guys like to suddenly skip Christmas and instead prep for a unique offense that is super annoying”
12/23/2021 8:51:32 AM
Lololol that's shitty. Should have gotten a good FCS team instead
12/23/2021 11:46:50 AM
I wonder if ESPN is going to pay the teams for these cancelled bowls. I say that since ESPN owns most of them. Like the ACC has already had 2 bowls cancelled. If they don't pay out, every school in the conference loses money.
12/26/2021 1:16:45 PM
I thought I read that in the Gator Bowl, the payout was contingent on the game actually being played. Not sure if that’s standard for all the bowls or if exceptions will be made. But yeah…that’s a good chunk of money
12/26/2021 1:53:23 PM
I wonder if they will at least reimburse travel expenses for the teams that are being cancelled on after they've already traveled to the bowl sites.
12/26/2021 5:55:12 PM
Man it would suck to be Washington State, stuck in fucking El Paso waiting to figure out if you’re going to play on Friday.
12/27/2021 9:58:40 AM
I like how everyone is like "why doesn't team x just go play in that bowl???" When they don't think about the logistics of getting all this equipment hallway across the country
12/27/2021 12:08:11 PM
