Anyone got an IN on an AT&T deal? I missed the lifetime lock in from a couple years ago because Google had already dug...but it's been 2 years since boxes were in the ground and nada. I want fiber...but the national deal right now is like $100 after tax for just the first year.
8/21/2018 12:21:52 PM
i'm fighting them right now because they are insisting that my lifetime deal was only a 1 year deal
8/21/2018 2:27:42 PM
^ha, why am I not surprised.

Here's what my bill still looks like:Monthly plan charges for Jul 24 - Aug 23$50.00Internet 300 Stand-alone$79.00Internet 300 Stand-alone $29 off-$29.00Internet Equipment Fee(Waived)$0.00Bill totalfor Jun 24 - Jul 23, 2018$50.00No taxes or fees now. It's been pretty sweet paying just $50/month for fiber for almost 2 years.

It's fun to call it "fiber" while TWC offers similar speeds (I have the same package)
8/27/2018 4:55:33 AM
I miss the 300 up and down deal for $50 a month.I'm on TWC now that I moved...and it's $44 for 200/10

^^TWC has similar dowmload but not uploadI dont think they have a data cap though, at&t has a 1Tb cap unless you have the gigabit plan[Edited on August 27, 2018 at 10:34 PM. Reason : .]

^^^upload matters when you're running a plex server. tis fiber, b.[Edited on August 28, 2018 at 11:33 AM. Reason : ]
8/28/2018 11:32:59 AM
do you not share your server? i tried to do 300 but was hitting the data limit like every month
8/28/2018 12:28:37 PM
I do, but with just a select few folks who also have plex servers. nothing too intense.
8/28/2018 1:23:43 PM
google wouldn't finish their fiber install on my house for whatever reason, despite connecting all my neighbors, so I went with comcast gigabit. unfortunately, upload sucks and is only 35mbps. the bonus is that I can still use cable cards, meaning I can own all my equipment, which outweighs the upload deficiency.
9/1/2018 8:48:30 AM
I also share my Plex server using a 300 account, but it's (thankfully) not used that heavily[Edited on September 1, 2018 at 10:22 AM. Reason : Good point about upload...what's Spectum's base upload these days?]
9/1/2018 10:13:27 AM
On Spectrum I typically get ~200/~20...highest I've recorded my up is 23...but it's what I pay for. Not sure the highest advertised up speed they sell.
9/4/2018 4:24:22 PM
flipped back to gigapower 1Gbs ($70/month + tax). Stock router was trash. Felt slower than Spectum's 200 service. Stuck a Costco Nighthawk in front of it and so far so good.

Signed up today. By the end of the week, I get to call Spectrum and tell them what they can do with their hat.
5/11/2020 1:43:37 PM
My twc bill went from 70 to 80 for some reason for 200 down, 20 up.
