So, uh, not to be that guy, but wearing the US flag as any form of clothing like this person or Kid Rock wearing one as a shirt, is against the Flag Code.
11/18/2015 6:31:21 PM
^^^when will these damn mooslims stop desecrating the american flag and our way of life??! ugh.
11/18/2015 6:39:11 PM
Lol I just find it funny.... I don't really care about any flag in the world, and if people want to wear them as clothing, let them! (unless it is against the law, which it is not)
11/18/2015 7:34:35 PM
i mean... if you wear it, wear it respectably... like this:
11/18/2015 8:09:13 PM
^^ it's against flag code, last time i checked, to wear an american flag as clothing. Not sure if this is ever enforced or enforceable (I suspect it's not).
11/18/2015 8:36:19 PM
Taking an existing flag and turning it into an article of clothing is against the flag code. Wearing a shirt or whatever with an American flag print is not a violation
11/18/2015 8:39:17 PM
Everyone who gives a shit about anything as unbearably lame as flaaaaaag coooooode can eat a dick, eat a fat diiiiiiiiiiick, fuckin' choke on that dick.[Edited on November 18, 2015 at 8:47 PM. Reason : SMASH THE STATE]
11/18/2015 8:47:39 PM
^^ yeah, that's what it looked like the muslim woman was doing in the Fox video... the bikini is a-ok (per flag code).
11/18/2015 10:03:41 PM
Hell, didn't the state govt of SC violate flag code in the aftermath of the Charleston shooting when they lowered the US flag but not the Confederate?
11/18/2015 10:22:05 PM
^ probably. There's been tons of people, including politicians, that have desecrated the flag by the letter of the code, but no one cares. The only time the media ever brings up the flag code is Fox News, when blacks protest by walking on the flag.
11/18/2015 10:32:08 PM
Hell, I don't care, either. Burning or walking on the flag doesn't bother me, either. Just wanted to point that out about SC.
11/18/2015 10:37:41 PM
the alleged Liberal Media is doing a pretty horrible job by not calling out these politicians for their blatant racismthis is absolutely insane
11/18/2015 10:43:41 PM
A little irked because maybe they're catering to the sentiment of a majority of the public? This isn't racism, this is fear. Get your talking points correct.
11/18/2015 11:05:38 PM
talking points?
11/18/2015 11:07:29 PM
You keep referring to people who are afraid, genuinely worried about what might happen, as racists, and you're gonna lose ground with them.Don't call them all racists. They're not. That is just you being ignorant.
11/18/2015 11:14:37 PM
who said anything about all of anybody being racist?do you actively try to be wrong about everything?
11/18/2015 11:20:44 PM
All of these politicians you're calling racist? Maybe they're trying to get some face time, maybe they're genuinely afraid for the country. Doesn't give you the right to level the racism charge at them.
11/18/2015 11:27:38 PM
I'm judging them on the racist things that they say, so I'm pretty sure I have every right to level the racism charge at themthere are absolutely no excuses for the shit that comes out of their mouths[Edited on November 18, 2015 at 11:35 PM. Reason : you are aware of the guy who has been leading the polls since he announced he was running, right?]
11/18/2015 11:33:47 PM
it's so easy just to claim "omg racism" when people make valid points about potential security risks. (risks the head of the FBI, etc have corroborated.)
11/18/2015 11:35:10 PM
11/18/2015 11:41:05 PM
I'm going to agree with rjrumfel. It's abject fear that's driving these conservatives to embrace irrational actions, not racism. Some of them are still racist, and this can factor in to how they present themselves, but I think the overwhelming driving force for people who all of a sudden have a problem with refugees, despite the millions we've taken in over the years, is fear.I can't prove this until surveys come out re the issue, but i'm part of a Facebook group that's primarily immigrants, and many of them are equally afraid of the refugees as the Fox News nutters. There's one guy on my FB (white guy) that shared a video from a German white supremacist group, i can't imagine he's a literal white supremacist, but i can see who perhaps groups like that grow their numbers in situations like this... but the racism is more a side effect than driving force.
11/19/2015 12:01:03 AM
how many white supremacists are you friends with?

that shit's crazy. straight out of a movie that I thought would never happen IRL. The dude just walked straight up to the girl on the ground without a care in the world and put a gun right to her head. France is still committed to accepting refugees:http://abcnews.go.com/International/french-president-francois-hollande-welcomes-refugees-paris-attack/story?id=35274658from what I can tell, all terrorists identified so far were not even refugees, is that true?

Xenophobic not racist.Fear is running the show though... Sad that the self proclaimed tough guys are even too scared to do the right things.^ that's correct though they are still investigating the forged passport link and a few of the terrorists.[Edited on November 19, 2015 at 8:28 AM. Reason : X]

What is it called when everyone cares about what happens in France, US, etc and none of the same people react to the same thing happening to russians, kenyans, lebanese, nigerians, etc. I understand what xenophobia is and this is kind of an omissive xenophobia.

^ bingoIt's the same as the people who get outraged when you try and have a discussion about why terrorism or mass murder happens and yell that they can have that conversation later but right now we just need to pray and send condolences.
11/19/2015 9:26:22 AM
I don't think that's it entirely, you don't have enough time in the day to mourn every bad thing that happens anywhere each day
11/19/2015 9:50:15 AM
^^^^ That map is a xenophobic micro-aggression in itself. Why no map attempting to shame the European countries that closed their boarders? You suddenly care when it happens on your front door, but didn't care when it happened an ocean away?

^^ as long as they have a car, I'm not opposed to housing a family if I need to for a few months. When my family came to this country, we slept in churches (without air condoning or shower faculties in 1 case), and on the floor of pastors' houses. I would welcome the opportunity to help how I could.
11/19/2015 11:47:58 AM
I will admit this is a more complicated issue than the Ebola nonsense that was used to scare idiots earlier this year at least.
11/19/2015 11:48:15 AM
it's more complicated because the thought police don't actually exist
11/19/2015 12:00:23 PM
11/19/2015 12:12:25 PM
I'm not sure what right decision is on the refugees. Although I like things that piss off the blow hard conservatives. After terrorists attacks there is a lot of reactions by people and politicians that feed directly into the terrorists goals of "spreading terror" and affecting normal living of everyday life. The non acceptance of refugees though does is not something that I'd consider "letting the terrorists win".
