Yeah, you must be thinking of annoying Boston a-hole Dan Shaughnessy.

When i see or think of Bernie, I see Bob Ryan. I'm just giving an everyman perspective to the situation. And everyone hates Bahston.

O'Malley is only there so Clinton doesn't actually have to engage in a debate, she doesn't have to directly address Sanders or play to the base as much/make herself look like a lefty for the general elections.3 debates, a couple on the weekends, one of them a holiday weekend. It's absurd.
11/15/2015 1:45:13 AM
Just seems like a really dangerous and bad strategy by the DNC to push Hillary so much. This doesn't make sense. Kudos to hillary I guess for making friends in the right places, but this shouldn't be how our elections work.
11/15/2015 2:50:28 AM
man I watched last night just to get an impression of Hillary but damn you Joe, a Biden/Clinton/Sanders debate would have been interesting and productive, I mean Sanders was more interesting than I thought but man we needed Joe's off the cuff emotionality to contrast with Hillary's cautious rehearsed stuff, that was just almost a waste of my time

The only polls I've seen in reaction to the second debate have been of "Democrat and independent voters," but I haven't seen anything that focuses specifically on undecided likely voters.

I would like to point out that I love how Donald Trump is an industry
12/4/2015 10:12:24 PM
I guess you're being sarcastic, but I'm pretty sure they listed him as an industry because (at least according to him) he's provided the majority of his own funding.
12/5/2015 12:20:40 AM
fucking cnn is not even polling sanders vs republicans
12/6/2015 1:29:16 AM
^The Hillary Machine, not surprised.I found a few sources saying that while Hillary is killing it against just democrats, Bernie is faring better vs Republicans.http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/261756-poll-sanders-more-electable-than-hillary-against-topThe Hill has been pretty skewed towards Bernie so I don't know how much to trust them, but Quinnipiac is usually a reliable poll: http://www.quinnipiac.edu/news-and-events/quinnipiac-university-poll/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2307[Edited on December 6, 2015 at 3:12 AM. ^^ Fox News (and the others) did the same thing to Ron Paul in 2012.
12/6/2015 10:10:22 AM
Decent debate, Hillary says some things that are too blatantly partisan, no one pointed out that the rate of growth in premiums was at worst unchanged by ACA, it didn't rise because of ACA.It seems the 2 major differences between sanders and Hillary are on single payer and boots on the ground. Omalley didn't come off so pathetic this debate, but still pretty boring. hillarys answer on racial justice was pretty weak, so was omalleys. There was some good anti-trump sound bites all around.
12/19/2015 11:00:14 PM
Everyday I'm seeing more and more polls and articles negating the "Sanders is unelectable" mantra.
12/23/2015 7:41:32 PM
12/24/2015 2:26:05 PM
Paul didn't have the support Sanders does
12/24/2015 11:24:01 PM
You must have not been paying attention in 2012, or else you've forgotten.
12/25/2015 10:17:14 AM
maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I thought Ron Paul's big wave was in 08?
12/26/2015 3:27:53 PM
Media donating to Clinton says Clinton won debate? Wow!
12/26/2015 5:43:24 PM
Sanders is very electable, the DNC clearly doesn't want a sanders candidacy.
12/27/2015 1:17:03 PM
Of course they don't. Shit, O'Malley is only on these faux debates so that Clinton doesn't actually have to debate Bernie or directly compare and contrast her views and ideas with his. She's been the nominee for about 3 years now, it's just been a matter of waiting until 2016 for it to be official.
12/27/2015 8:46:54 PM
Ron Paul is not a good comparison for Sanders, a better comparison would be 2000 John McCain
12/28/2015 10:41:42 AM
Why not 2008 Mccain?
12/28/2015 3:15:06 PM
Sanders doesn't seem like the type to sell out that hard
12/28/2015 3:53:23 PM

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/12/31/martin-omalley-fails-to-qualify-for-ohio-presidential-primary-ballot/?tid=sm_twThis is pretty sad I think, and it's not a good sign. I don't know any democrats excessively enthusiastic about Hillary, but it doesn't seem like "establishment democrats" are getting excited by anyone. Makes me wonder if we'll have record low turnout the next election.
12/31/2015 4:09:06 PM
most democrats don't even know what a primary is and will start paying attention next october.

Is anyone going to call the pollsters/media out for their blatantly biased polling?Trump vs ClintonRubio vs ClintonCruz vs ClintonThese options are included in every major poll. But what aboutTrump vs SandersRubio vs SandersCruz vs SandersSanders has polled stronger than Rubio and Cruz so why doesn't he get included in any general electron polling? How can they get away with polling like this?

Sanders is making huge gains this week. Dominating in New Hampshire, winning some polls in Iowa. Its on.
1/12/2016 2:00:09 PM
It's going to be awesome seeing the DNC torpedo Sanders even if he brings the most delegates to the convention. It will be a nice eye opener when people realize that they don't actually get to pick the candidates.Hopefully something like that, especially if it happens at BOTH conventions will be crippling for the 2 major parties in terms of membership. Unfortunately they're so entrenched I doubt it will lead to the rise or growth of other parties. Probably just more independents and even less popular influence on the Dems and Repubs.
1/12/2016 4:25:41 PM
The only thing that will give way for 3rd party candidates is alternative/ranked/automated runoff balloting.
1/13/2016 5:01:09 AM
Yes, with the way things are currently structured a 3 way race is not viable. The death or fading of one of the major parties is possible. It's highly unlikely, but possible. Many people are disillusioned with the parties we have now.
1/13/2016 3:22:02 PM
I wonder what a Trump and Sanders third party run would do to things (obviously separate campaigns, not those two on the same ticket). That would have to be the best chance we would have to see a third party candidate win it just because of how watered down the votes would be.
1/14/2016 2:34:36 PM
Clinton will not run third party and Sanders will have the nomination
1/14/2016 3:50:05 PM
From a chit chat thread but it belongs here. The realistic reason I support Bernie Sanders because either way nothing will change. Bernie Sanders as president would propose lots of stuff tons of people would like to see done and nothing would happen. Or Hillary will propose lots of half measures that some will like and the house of Representatives will burn her in effigy and nothing will happen. Compared to A Hillary presidency, the Obama years look like Obama and the republicans were sitting down singing kum by ya. Republicans have been preparing for a Hillary run for decades almost, which means a vote for Hillary in the primaries is what republicans want really... Huge turn out of tons of people that hate Hillary with every fiber of their being and Democratic voters going meh..I don't need to vote for her she'll win anyway.. As long as ol trump doesnt strike the fear of doom in the democrats to go vote.Wow long post for chit chat..

Sanders is the only candidate with policy ideas even remotely close to where we need to be to sail through the automation revolution, which we're already in the midst of, but will ramp up over the next 8+ years. His trade policies still worry me, but his domestic vision is a necessity... otherwise I think we'll rapidly lose ground to Europe/Asia.
1/15/2016 12:46:28 AM
In the last two days, Hilary has insinuated that Bernie's adopted and step-grandchildren don't count as legitimate family members, and that he is too unhealthy to be president. I'm a diehard democrat, but I will now abstain if she wins the nomination. Fuck that bitch.
