The word Homicide in this case actually means something since the cops were trying to say either he killed himself, or it was accidental due to him not being buckled down. It'll be interesting to see where this goes.Nice some accountability is coming. Call off the riotsDamn BOOM MURDER BITCHAnd she just read them the riot act on leaking information. sounds like they're charging the driver with murdering Gray and placing involuntary manslaughter charges on the people who put him in the van. I'm guessing they must think the other officers wanted the van driver to rough him up on the ride back.Stop #5 happened at a job site I need to visit soon, and that's probably where he was killed. Depraved-heart murder - that basically means the driver took actions in complete disregard for whether or not it could kill someone, not that he intentionally killed the person?[Edited on May 1, 2015 at 11:30 AM. 5/1/2015 11:27:25 AM
I also found it interesting that the prosecutor is saying the officers never established probable cause for an arrest, therefore illegally arrested gray. That apparently challenges the notion that just because youre running from cops in an arbitrarily defined high-crime area, that is probably cause for arrest.

"When I was in the Marine core the called me a patriot, when I fight for my people they call me a FUCKING THUG"Did anyone catch that exchange on CNN. Another black guy comes up and starts arguing with the guy because he's from another part of town. ^ I fear she over reached and will have a hard time getting convictions. But they will also have a impossible job trying to find a Jury for those cases if they go to trial.[Edited on May 1, 2015 at 11:34 AM. Reason : ,]

Can we talk about how disgraceful the obvious targeted leak of information by the BPD coupled with the release by the Union was? I mean it's easy to say it's just a few bad apples but this seemed pretty obvious that there was some major protection going on at a systemic level.
5/1/2015 11:35:43 AM
5/1/2015 11:41:14 AM
Yes, i would like to discuss that.It seems that the targeted leaking of information happens often when the police are involved. It happened with Darren Wilson as well, where some unidentified person that knows the officer in question calls puts out some release to the media to sway public opinion. In the Freddie Gray situation, it was especially disturbing to see a distorted narrative put out that has Gray essentially comitting suicide.[Edited on May 1, 2015 at 11:47 AM. Yea its a disgusting tactic used by the police. I applaud her for immediately launching her own investigation and not waiting on the police report. I'm interested in comparing her findings to that of the Baltimore Police Department since they have been lying about everything since this started. She made a statement about them leaking information, but I can't remember her wording.
5/1/2015 11:48:25 AM
So when shit like this happens, one can start to gain an understanding of why often citizens dont want to cooperate with police. And one starts to see why people think their best course of action when they see the cops is to go as fast as you fucking can in the other direction.
5/1/2015 11:52:13 AM
wtf kind of question was that?"is this proof to you that at least in this case to this system, that black lives DO matter???"

Question. Were the cops that were charged riding in the back of the van with Gray?If not, I'm having a hard time understanding the manslaughter charges. I think someone should have been charged yes, but this DA have overblown it, and in doing so, has probably "blown it." What she has done is just delayed the inevitable, when they are found not guilty in court.
5/1/2015 1:41:24 PM
At least conservative media has found a new angle. Despite her families five generation history in law enforcement they want her to recuse herself since Grays lawyer supported her election.Strangely they were fine with McCullough though.

Baltimore was having enough trouble with hiring and keeping officers on the force; it's about to get a lot worse. The Western district has typically been one of the worst staffed, and for good reason: why would you want to deal with all the knuckleheads in that area when you could get a job with Baltimore or Howard county making more money to patrol the suburbs? The City officials want all of the focus to be on what the cops did, and that is going to backfire on them in a major way. They've dragged their feet for decades on paying competitive wages to hire and retain a well-trained police force, relying on working tons of overtime with rookies to make up the difference. The Baltimore police force is going to look at the charges coming against all 6 officers instead of 1 or 2 of them as a sign that it's time to go find work somewhere else, and that's not a problem that can be fixed with more overtime.

http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/baltimore-unrest/freddie-gray-death-prosecutor-marilyn-mosby-lays-out-chain-events-n352096If that's what happened, the charges against the bike cops are bullshit and nothing more than a political stunt to contain the rioting. The driver sounds like a real shitbag though, stopping to ask the guy if he needs medical assistance and then just driving off afterwards.I want to see a picture of the knife he had; if he had a spring-assisted knife then I could easily see some rookie cops not knowing if it was legal or not. Ask a dozen officers what kind of knife is legal or illegal to carry, and you'll get a dozen different answers. Even if it was a spring-assisted knife, my understanding of the laws up here is that they are only illegal if concealed. I don't see how having a knife clipped to your pocket makes it concealed. Maybe there's a law up here preventing felons from carrying a switchblade and they knew the man had convictions?[Edited on May 2, 2015 at 5:33 PM. I was clicking around last night when I noticed on CNN the cops were arresting a man with a bloody head. Apparently he had thrown a glass bottle at the cops. I kept clicking around and hit MSNBC and Fox News. Below are the three honest to God descriptions of the same event:CNN: Well, there's a black man bleeding on the ground.MSNBS: The black man wasn't bleeding before the cops dragged him across the street.Fox: The cops area doing their best to keep the crowd in order. All while covering the same event. I'm not really trying to make a point, I just think it is interesting how three different news organizations cover the same event.
