What if you arrested someone for DWI and in court when you were watching the dashcam video you could clearly see both brake lights illuminated and their lawyer gets the case dismissed. Wouldn't you feel dumb?
4/10/2015 12:22:27 AM
But, that is not what I stopped them for. The dash cam footage might shot the weaving, crossing the double yellow, etc. I would also testify to the stop. It's called investigative deception.
4/10/2015 12:33:10 AM
I seriously doubt ^ pulls people over in non-"good stop" scenarios[Edited on April 10, 2015 at 1:02 AM. Reason : and that probably goes for most stops...shits gotta hold up in court yo]
4/10/2015 1:01:48 AM
The dash cam video is out now. I can tell by the video republicans are going to say its the black guys fault he is dead for running, and also lying about his car registration.
4/10/2015 1:08:01 AM
^^He's a police, and we love him, but he's a police--investigative deception and all. Why would you trust him on the Internet?
4/10/2015 1:28:45 AM
not victim blaming here but:the center brake light was clearly not working
4/10/2015 6:36:29 AM
can't an officer tell by running the vehicle plates if a vehicle has insurance or not? That would be reason enough for a stop, wouldn't it?
4/10/2015 9:12:24 AM
4/10/2015 9:17:01 AM
He is running from a cop, yes.But the cop has his identity, I assume that he has no major felony warrants out that should force the cop to either go after him, or use the force that he did. How hard would it be to let him go and get him later when he resurfaces.
4/10/2015 9:51:06 AM
4/10/2015 9:55:06 AM
There's always a reason to pull somebody over. There are fifty billion traffic/vehicle ordinances. And 100% of the country speeds.
4/10/2015 10:52:16 AM
4/10/2015 10:52:57 AM
Plus, based on the dashcam video, it looks like this altercation took place near a neighborhood. The officer shot 8 times, but only hit Scott 5. That means there were 3 stray bullets in a potential neighborhood that could have gotten someone else killed.FFS, this guy needs to go.I don't know if anybody made that point regarding the Mike Brown case, but I think that took place in a residential area as well.

How accurate is NC's system. How long does it take for the system to know your insurance has lapsed?
4/10/2015 11:12:16 AM
I would like to point out that if this cop actually planted a taser on the body, it doesn't really matter if it was a valid stop or not, that's enough to warrant a long jail sentence IMO.
4/10/2015 11:13:24 AM
If you have a 1 minute lapse in insurance, your tags will get revoked. You have to have continuous coverage. I'm pretty sure its updated every day.
4/10/2015 11:16:34 AM
I can tell by the video republicans are going to say its the black guys fault he is dead for running, and also lying about his car registration. For what it's worth...technically if he hadn't ran and just stayed in the car he'd still be alive. With that said, I can't see where running warranted being shot to death. It's not like the cops wouldn't have found him again had he gotten away.
4/10/2015 12:54:59 PM
To Restricted, I'm not arguing that cops should be better shots. Crack shots exist in our minds and on tv. I'm just going back to the decision to use deadly force in this case. On a fleeing suspect. In a neighborhood. With kids around most likely.

tazers should use a different color laser
4/12/2015 2:40:22 PM
seriously? They didn't hear gun shots? That's a straight up lie. That shit was murder.
4/12/2015 2:58:32 PM
That is the same excuse used in the murder of Oscar Grant.
4/12/2015 3:09:32 PM
Wtf at that walmart video. Multiple people resisting and assaulting cops and the cops just keep chasing them in circles. Smh.
4/12/2015 3:10:49 PM
4/12/2015 4:48:22 PM
I kept watching that Walmart video hoping someone would call in an airstrike. How can one family be so dysfunctional that they get into a brawl with 4 officers, and how can the parents just sit there and watch/encourage it?
4/12/2015 4:57:39 PM
holy fuck at that "fuck your breath" video. some fucking old dude gets to play ride along and tase people? how the fuck is that allowed?
4/12/2015 5:13:19 PM
4/12/2015 5:29:13 PM
Is this guy seriously not going to get charged? And from the sound of it, they're allowed to carry tasers and guns around??? What the fuck?
4/12/2015 5:34:11 PM
at least RPD isn't going around murdering unarmed youths. their only vice is being run by the mob[Edited on April 12, 2015 at 5:56 PM. Reason : and various sexual misconducts ]

So now you can claim that you pulled your gun, thinking it was a taser, and that is a successful defense? BS.That should terrify every American that has ever been pulled over. Or has ever given a cop a reason to pull them over, such as speeding.
4/12/2015 9:57:24 PM
^^^^^that Huffington post article is such bullshit;, It's a thought experiment drummed up by the same media that reports the garbage news this article is complaining about.I find it hard to find sympathy for this Walter Scott incident. Deadbeat dad doesn't bother to pay for car insurance or child support but can buy a flashy car, runs from the cops when he gets arrested, and gets murdered by some jackass cop that thought he was above the law. Now his kids will probably get all of their unpaid child support and then some courtesy of the state of South Carolina, an uninsured motorist is off the highway, and this dumbass cop will get to spend life in prison. Kinda seems like a win-win to me.[Edited on April 12, 2015 at 11:07 PM. Reason : car wasn't new, although new to the owner.]
4/12/2015 11:06:14 PM
flashy car?
4/12/2015 11:24:54 PM
its a pretty cold fuckin day in hell when someone can be stupid enough to make me side with TGL3
4/12/2015 11:59:26 PM
flashy? gaudy? call it what you will, but practical it is not.
4/13/2015 12:15:10 AM
practical?it has 4 tires and an engine looks like its past the point of a normal used car
4/13/2015 12:19:20 AM
Get the hood repainted, or get rims? Hmm.

Saw this posted from one of my police friends on facebook. Not sure how much BS is in the actual blog, or whatever it is, but it claims that after enhancing the video, you can see taser darts lodged into the cop.Disclaimer - it's obviously slanted, but I just clicked on the link, I didn't go looking for this.http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/04/12/game-changer-or-paradigm-shift-walter-scott-shooting-enhanced-video-shows-officer-slager-with-taser-darts/

Uninsured driver = punishable by death
4/13/2015 7:41:21 AM
In terms of the Tulsa "accidental" shooting *cough*murder*cough*, slip and capture was the same excuse they used for the murder of Oscar Grant. I don't believe for a second they didn't know he was shot. They heard it, and the blood pouring should have been a clue. Oh, and the "reserve deputy" stated he shot him immediately. As for the Wal-Mart fight, I have no doubt if it were a black family the cops would have drawn their guns a lot quicker.
