They won't ever play two strikers but it's nice to have two good strikers. I mean whatever, I ain't mad because I think it's a great signing for Liverpool. I just remember seeing Arsenal linked with him for a while.

Not England but James Rodriguez to Real.... Isco is such a talent but he is getting a City/Chelsea type screwjob.Needs to be sold or loaned ASAP..** if I type the name of literally any good player in the world on twitter the first autofill is ALWAYS Liverpool. Fanaticism or delusion? You decide...[Edited on July 22, 2014 at 8:12 AM. Reason : X]

They did just sell the 3rd best player in the world and have a shit ton of money to spend...surely has nothing to do with this bullshit either http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-hit-list-now-includes-3875539[Edited on July 22, 2014 at 8:38 AM. Reason : .]

It was Isco and Reus that I looked up then I started exploring. Cavani, Falcao, Videl, etc.
7/22/2014 9:02:19 AM
Liverpool's "inquiries" about Isco have been going around the gossip/rumor sites for days. Spam retweeting all those links is enough to get it trending on twitter.

Oh FFS, Wenger is talking up Diaby which surely means he won't buy a true DM to pair with Ramsey...
7/23/2014 10:17:17 AM
do united need more players than Shaw and Herrera. Yes of course but the biggest difference of why United will challenge for 4th isn't the players, it is the manager. The squad has enough talent within it already, the 7th place finish does not reflect the individual talent in the team. With a competent Manager I don't think United finish outside the top 4 last year. Probably would have finished 3rd. I fully expect a challenge for 4th and at the very least a 5th place finish. Thank you David Moyes!
7/23/2014 1:29:56 PM
I could say the same thing about Spurs with Sherwood.

To be fair, a true tactical genius like LVG is worth four spots. How do you replace a legend like SAF? With a bigger one like Van Gaal!!! Just ask him...

lol
7/23/2014 4:27:22 PM
Lamela with a first half brace vs Toronto. He looks so relaxed out there in the free role. You can tell that he and Eriksen are really getting a great understanding of how to play off each other as well. Lamela just floats around and Eriksen fills whatever space he leaves. I'd love to actually get a LW that doesn't want to cut it in 100% of the time with no chance of finishing though. Lennon is wearing me out these last 2 years.I can't wait to see what Erik can actually do this season.

^ United was 4 points away from 4th at the start of january. Don't think Everton were 4 points away from the title. With 17 matches still left mind you.
7/24/2014 12:05:37 AM
Your defense is utter trash and your midfield even with Mata and Herrera is very thin and not on a Chelsea or City level...But you have Van Gaal and no one else does!
7/24/2014 7:15:30 AM
They beat the LA Galaxy yesterday. Van Gaal is for real, folks. He's on a Colin Clarke level of coaching.
7/24/2014 7:54:15 AM
I'll be honest and not troll for once about him. He's a very good, proven manager coming off an EXTREMELY impressive WC... but the nonsense the English media is spewing about him while constantly slagging Wenger is sickening to me.[Edited on July 24, 2014 at 7:57 AM. Reason : X]
7/24/2014 7:56:42 AM
^ like you lot constantly slagging shit about Man United? Also Van Gaal may be at a comparable level to Wenger as a manager but Wenger is clearly the best manager in England right now, anyone who says otherwise isn't a football person. It isn't a ridiculous statement to say Van Gaal will have United challenging for a 4th place spot. If aimorris thinks that makes Van Gaal a tactical genius so be it. You lot acting over here like I am saying United is going to win the title. haha.
7/24/2014 9:19:51 AM
This is a waste of time because I expect United to sign more players and strengthen the squad. And we can argue semantics about what "challenging for top 4" means all day long. All I'm saying is that right now I would not say they're favorites to finish 4th with that team.
7/24/2014 9:42:09 AM
I would say they are. No Europe, good manager, Liverpool are weaker and have Champion's League to deal with.
7/24/2014 2:43:56 PM
Liverpool's starting XI is weaker but their depth can handle more games. I'm not concerned about enough goals this season to win games. Remy/Lambert/Sturridge is as good a forward trio as any other in the league. United will need a ton of goals to compensate for that defense. It'll be interesting to see where they come from.
7/24/2014 3:01:05 PM
Oh man. United store glitched last night and everything was 50% off. Didn't think they would honor it the next day but I ordered an official jersey anyway. With badges and printing cost me $60 with shipping. Find out today Man United are honoring the sales. Just bagged myself a lucky deal! Should have bought more shit. The official PL matchball was going for $50.
7/24/2014 6:07:25 PM
I got one too, just cause I love Chevy.
7/24/2014 6:34:36 PM
I'm actually liking how this preseason is shaping up for Spurs. It looks like the team chemistry is high with next to no expectations from the fans or the media. This team has a chance to surprise, especially if they get off to a fast start. Definitely below the radar right now.
7/24/2014 9:42:07 PM
I don't understand why every league isn't adopting the vanishing spray for free kicks. What is the downside?
7/25/2014 11:08:42 AM
Waste of time...
7/25/2014 11:10:50 AM
I'm with aimorris. It should be used everywhere. There's nothing more annoying than watching a wall slowly creep forward after the ref turns his back.
7/25/2014 11:16:08 AM
South American leagues, MLS, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, Champions League/Europa League and FIFA all think it's a good idea. But the Premier League still needs to consult with their officials to see if it's necessary. Makes sense.
7/25/2014 11:33:22 AM
Drogba's back? Awesome.
7/25/2014 12:47:01 PM
Its just a spray, doesn't really matter if its used or not. If the wall moved up 2 inches its not going to make any difference.
7/25/2014 2:55:38 PM
... then why not just use it
7/25/2014 2:56:09 PM
Isn't it an aerosol can? #Pollution
7/25/2014 4:19:51 PM
Southampton is so great. Love them.Bale, Theo, Ox, Lallana, Shaw and now Calum Chambers. What a great bunch...** I'm well aware I could be clouded by some confirmation bias but I've read quite a few Southampton fans who rated Chambers higher than Shaw.... England RB for a decade and soon (it is a weak position so maybe?). Also will serve as fourth CB next year if it goes through.[Edited on July 25, 2014 at 9:38 PM. Reason : Lovren too.. love that pickup by Pool. walks into #1 CB there]
7/25/2014 8:32:44 PM
And for consistency, £16m is way overpaying for him if it is a lump sum. If it's £8m plus as much later in potential performance add-ons it is fine. And don't even go there wazza with Shaw... his wages plus the near £30m fee make that signing in a league of its own.
7/26/2014 6:46:49 AM
Don't forget Lambert.re: Lovren, Southampton just paid £8.5 for him a year ago and he had one of the best seasons for a CB in the league. It's a high price but it's not David Luiz high or anything. Quality CBs are hard to find. He also had 3 years left on his contract, he's an experienced international that speaks French (with Sakho/Mignolet, I'd think this is a big asset) and has played well in the PL. I have no problem overpaying slightly for a position that Liverpool needs to strengthen desperately.I don't understand why there weren't more clubs (like United) in for him, honestly.
7/26/2014 9:33:15 AM
I agree about Lovren. That fee will be repaid three times over with him. I think he is one of the best CBs in the PL.I was actually talking about Calum Chambers and Arsenal overpaying if it's indeed £16m up front.[Edited on July 26, 2014 at 10:18 AM. Reason : Lovren wanted Liverpool from what I read... Basically no matter what.]
7/26/2014 10:18:12 AM
lol oh shit, my bad. That makes way more sense now.fuck. Missed that Lallana is out for 6 weeks[Edited on July 26, 2014 at 10:41 AM. Reason : .]
7/26/2014 10:21:14 AM
As much as I hate to admit it, all 3 of Chelsea's kits this year are beautiful. Especially that 3rd shirt.
7/26/2014 11:17:44 AM
Lovren is 25, don't think United would have valued him at 20 million plus. Also Lovren wants to go to pool so that in itself isn't something you can change. United have Evans, Jones, and Smalling. Lovren played better than all of them last year but I have seen Evans play at the same level before. United need a world class center half, not someone who just has upside. Add 15 million more on top of Lovren's fee and get someone who is undoubtedly good. Who that is I don't know. As you said there aren't many center half's making the rounds right now. Banatia and Garay are a risk and are going to cost twice the fee for Lovren. I actually wouldn't mind getting someone like Vermaelen for around 10 million and then giving Blackett and Keane a chance from the academy. Risky move but if Evans and Jones can stay fit I think they can be solid. I am more worried about the wing backs. If Van Gaal chooses to play a 3-5-2 he is going to need cover for Rafael and Shaw. Letting Evra and Vidic go was a mistake in my opinion.
7/26/2014 11:34:16 AM
What is with this loan nonsense. Di Maria on loan to PSG with auto buy clause next year. Real should not help out PSGs ignorant asses. You paid £50m for a shit ass douche defender. Own it and fuck off...Oil is ruining the sport.**** all of the LOLs at Cleverley being named captain today by LVG over Rooney. The £300k week a man can't be out the shittiest CM to play for England in a decade.[Edited on July 26, 2014 at 2:57 PM. Reason : x]
7/26/2014 2:38:39 PM
will you own up to it if Cleverley has a good year? He is hardly the shittiest midfielder to play for England in a decade, I suggest you watch more England matches. Cleverley didn't live up to the hype but the hatred for him is ridiculous. He is a solid player that will do his job and nothing more. The man was short of confidence last year. Van Gaal can definitely get him playing and with Herrera in the team I expect Cleverley to put in solid performance this year. I can see him developing into what Carrick is.
7/26/2014 3:53:40 PM
Rooney looks good. Scary good. Preseason of course, but still.RVP is going to be captain isn't he? Which would be pathetic but its going to happen.
7/26/2014 4:59:59 PM
What a novel concept. Play one of the top 5 strikers in the world as a striker and he will score goals and look good. This is what I am most excited about. Rooney is a striker, I understand why Sir Alex played him behind the striker. United needed him to be there. With Mata, Kagawa, and Herrera it frees him up to play where he is the best. I can't wait to see RVP and Wazza up top togrther in the 3-5-2.
7/26/2014 5:08:37 PM
Arsenal's defense looks like shit.
