So since I started hearing about BeeJay, I've constantly heard that he has the longest recorded wingspan in basketball history, both college and pro. But in a recent game, I heard them say he has the second... anyone know who has the first?

Anya's is 7'9"

Bol's was 8'6"

Can't wait til Kyle Washington convinces Anya to add a long range shot to his game

IDk who has the longest wingspan. I think they always say "recorded at the NBA combine" or whatever. So idk how long they've been recording wingspans at the NBA combine. I don't know if every player goes to it. I'd imagine many foreign guys don't. Not to say that Anya's wingspan isn't impressive. But that stat has always kinda been a little curious to me.

Eh, pictures from this August look a lot like last year's pics in August. Some reports the coaches are frustrated he had to spend all summer losing weight instead of working on his game(just like last summer). Hopefully he doesn't put on any weight between now and the year and can actually focus on developing a move or two on offense.

last year - and maybe every season - his problem was keeping the weight off during the season. i think gottfried said he had added like 20 lbs during the season after starting the year below 300 lbs.

I give him some slack on that. Once season starts you gotta start pounding calories and especially carbs to compete at game speed level and still be contributing positively rather than just trying to run yourself until you can't anymore and focusing on cutting fat.

17 points (7/8), 5 blocks and 7 rebounds in 24 minutes

(yes, against inferior competition, but they did have two 6'11" guys)

up to 173 career blocks. Thurl Bailey's school record is 207, so well within reach this season if he averages a couple blocks per game.

^^^ they talk about it in post game sometimes. It is a combination that he can't stay on his weight loss diet during the season and be able to play at game level and that he may not be making the best choices when selecting his food

i don't get why someone standing next to him prevents him from exploding up to attempt those dunks. he must have issues holding on to the ball. he should do the same thing he does when he's alone when people are beside him and around him.

He has definitely put weight on. Sometimes I wonder if synapse even watches.

[Edited on February 21, 2016 at 1:36 PM. Reason : ^Of course he does, watch him shoot free throws. His hands are so big he can barely hold it]

Vandy would make the same dumbfuck fouls that Anya just did, get beat on the spin move like Anya did, but he wouldn't have 4 boards and a block like Anya does.

It's a shame that his name will be in the recordbooks instead of Thurl's...considering Thurl actually played both ends of the court and played actual defense, not the "fuck it go for the block" d that anya plays

Assuming he plays a decent amount next year, he should be in the top 7 all-time in the ACC, and possibly top 4-5 if he has a real good year. Imagine if he could play more than half a game. He's better than nearly everybody on the list per 40 minutes

It is literally all he adds, that and a few put backs. This record is inflated because he constantly leaves his man to go for blocks. People that are celebrating this achievement don't understand the game.

Imagine how many blocks he'd have if he didn't constantly run outside the 3 point arc to try and help on a screen. He would've shattered the record.

I'd be interested to see how many of his blocks actually resulted in a change of possession.

hes obviously being coached to do that. thats just part of our defensive scheme that works so well

yeah, if Anya played on a team with a semi-competent defensive coach, he could be a great defensive player.

i feel like we can all acknowledge that he's a dang good shot blocker but also has very serious flaws in his game.
