probably like when you buy certain drugs, they take down your license number
6/7/2015 4:22:40 PM
^^^Yup, We have to use a POS system and record drivers license numbers.
6/9/2015 12:57:29 PM
I asked the ABC clerk at the store off Strickland and they said they're getting some today...she also noted it's very popular so I assume that it's selling well. Congrats!
6/9/2015 1:01:40 PM
We thought our first pallet of 50 cases would last 3-4 weeks. It lasted just over 2 weeks. We thought our second pallet would last a bit longer since initial orders would have been filled. It lasted only 5 days.We are scrambling to get the third pallet out ASAP. Ordered our second still already and should have it by mid-July to help meet demand.
6/9/2015 1:26:53 PM
I don't normally like white rum, but I liked this enough to buy a second bottle. Hopefully you're making arrangements to age some of your rum for future variations.

6/14/2015 8:43:35 PM
Where locally is the best place to purchase?
6/15/2015 1:11:37 PM
ABC Stores Carrying Raleigh Rum - https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=z7UjENy6XboM.km3KMCqwgdXw&usp=sharingThis is a general listing/mapping. I recommend calling ahead to be sure they have stock. Wake County ABC Board orders from the warehouse, then distributes as they see fit. We don't actually control which stores carry it right now. If your local ABC store doesn't have it, let them know you want it!

North Carolina has the most retarded alcohol laws.
6/16/2015 1:25:10 PM
The best you can do is strap on your helmet, climb into the short bus, and hang on for the ride...
6/16/2015 4:55:31 PM
Got a bottle in Fayetteville yesterday
6/18/2015 10:33:26 AM
how much are they going for? anywhere outside of NC yet?
6/18/2015 10:47:09 AM
$22.50 and only available in NC stores. No plans to expand outside of NC anytime soon
6/18/2015 5:23:31 PM
I've never attempted to fly with liquor before. Somebody fill me in on the rules (if any) of bringing booze in your checked luggage
6/19/2015 9:23:55 AM
6/19/2015 9:43:27 AM
I'd make sure to wrap it and box it. If you just wrap it up, they could go through your bag and not put it back in as securely as you had it. I had a buddy put a ridiculous bottle of Olive Oil from Croatia in his bag...wrapped real tight, then opened his bag when we landed and had everything soaked in Olive Oil. They took it out, checked it, and just tossed it back in without re-wrapping. He trashed everything in his bag.
6/19/2015 10:01:22 AM
Picked up a bottle from the ABC off of Falls of Neuse. They had about 6 left, looked like they had stocked close to 15 or so. Great surprise gift for my die-hard NCSU father in law.
6/30/2015 4:07:10 PM
Why is there a picture of Tuffy on it or something?[Edited on June 30, 2015 at 4:37 PM. Reason : V i can dig it]
6/30/2015 4:10:58 PM
No but some former NCSU students in the company is enough. He is kind of insane about State stuff, regardless of the strength of the connection.

^ saw that and so want one, esp if they work (if they dont, will be figuring out how to take a drill to it to make it work.)
7/8/2015 2:24:04 PM
They work, there are varying levels of quality among them though, expect some leaks. The one in the image is actually for a kickstarter backer that never claimed it. They are fairly expensive for such a tiny barrel.[Edited on July 8, 2015 at 2:26 PM. Reason : h]
7/8/2015 2:26:25 PM
^ Define "fairly expensive" please. There's a restaurant down here in Charleston that has some, but I'd rather have one from Raleigh...depending on price of course.
7/8/2015 4:20:00 PM
I"ll be dropping by this saturday with the g/f. We've been so busy with moving and stuff the last few weeks, but I'll be damned if i miss out on a tour this weekend! Also yes, can we do a group buy on more barrels or announce another kick starter just for the barrels?[Edited on July 8, 2015 at 9:28 PM. Reason : .]
7/8/2015 9:25:28 PM
^They are from The Barrel Mill, but I don't think they actually make them - it seemed to come from a 3rd party. We simply added our logo after receiving. We will look into carrying them for purchase once we can afford to buy them in bulk
7/9/2015 9:58:19 AM
I got one from striped pig distillery in charleston
7/9/2015 9:59:52 AM
We are about to start promoting to bars and push for drink specials since we have a more consistent inventory now. We didn't want to market to bars earlier since we had been selling out on the retail side fairly quickly. We do need help though! Even if you are going into a bar for a beer, ask if they carry Raleigh Rum - just to get the awareness out there [Edited on August 12, 2015 at 11:35 AM. Reason : e]
8/12/2015 11:30:31 AM
So how much did you guys sell today? Glad to see you can finally buy on site!
10/1/2015 4:52:49 PM
We sold about 20 bottles during tour hours this weekend. I was hoping for more, but the weather could be to blame. Still really glad that we can finally sell directly to customers, even in a limited fashion. Looking to grow the tours, make it more of an event. It's already a pretty fun way to spend an hour on Saturdays IMO
10/4/2015 9:03:30 AM
I've got to come to raleigh soonish to do some work. I will buy one of those mini casks if you've got any. I want to like and support this, but I'm also a huge rum snob
10/4/2015 10:54:38 AM
mildew, did you ever try Pirate Choice Rum before they went defunct? I would bet if you could copy that recipe it would be a winner. I recall there being a mad run on the liquor once they announced they would stop making for a while. http://files.clubplanet.com/SiteFiles/ArticleImages/1/pirates_choice_best_rum.jpghttps://www.facebook.com/Pirates-Choice-Rum-163171490379524/timeline/[Edited on October 4, 2015 at 12:31 PM. 10/4/2015 12:30:18 PM
^^ Only have a decorative one. Nothing for sale - we need to step up our retail game ASAP ^ I've never tried it, but you are not the first one that has mentioned it. They must have done something right (at least for a brief period of time)!
10/5/2015 10:56:30 AM
Yeah, one of the owners died and shit dragged down in legal problems. There may have been some shady side dealings as well. Good rum, bad business, bad legal structure.
10/8/2015 10:34:17 PM
Spiced Rum launching this weekend
12/9/2015 4:41:37 PM
If you ever need a rep for the local bars and all...
12/9/2015 5:50:34 PM
Can you walk in and buy!^^
12/10/2015 4:25:02 PM
^^ yeah we do! We can't pay you.... but just go walk into bars and talk us up! ^ You can come to distillery on Saturday ~2pm for tour and buy one after. Should be distributed to ABC stores throughout next week, we shall see....
12/11/2015 12:56:15 PM
So where can I get a bottle of the spiced rum in the Cary/Raleigh area? Dropped by three abc stores today and only found the clear rum at one. Sold out at the other two.
12/23/2015 5:01:05 PM
lookin for some too. wife tried to pick me one up a couple days ago. figured distribution was still picking up. got a fresh OG bottle though
12/23/2015 6:19:10 PM
We haven't gotten the delivery invoices yet, so not sure who has picked up the spiced. Cameron village was supposedly getting it first, can't confirm though
12/27/2015 9:05:44 AM
Quick updates for those interested:Every Wake ABC store should have Spiced Rum by the end of this month. We are doing a promo at Brickhouse this Friday, they are opening a NC Craft Spirits section of their bar - which we absolutely love. Also promoting at Falls of Neuse Carolina Ale House this Sunday for the Panthers vs Seahawks game. Plus, we will be at Garner and Cary Ale Houses the following Sundays in January. We are also doing a BIG Fat Tuesday event at the Cary Ale House on February 9th. We are planning on pouring rum at the Beer & Bacon festival in Cary (April).Tours still happening every Saturday at 2pm.

Are you guys actually making money?
1/14/2016 2:07:57 PM
Yah how many cars, boats, and jet packs have you all bought?
1/14/2016 2:19:28 PM
The company is basically self sufficient at this point. Still plenty of debt to pay down before we would ever take a check. The introduction of spiced rum should hopefully help a lot.
