Understandable when the majority of these "arguments" are simply gross mischaracterizations of other people's positions, aka straw mans. And both sides are doing it, btw, but one to a greater degree.

I'm just saying...pulling out is a pretty successful method of birth control. It's not encouraged because men suck at it, and it contributes to the spread of STDs.

But that's how basic this shit is, guys. I mean, you're grown. You can't be having sex for two decades and then be handwringing like a child, trying to convince another grown human being to have an abortion. The entire premise of this discussion is absurd.

But, as long as you guys are this fucking stupid, there's gonna be plenty of babies to go around. So yay for babies and grown men whining about how they got tricked!

Given BridgetSPK's latest posts, it has become quite apparent that my relationship with her is going to have to be BJ only.

I'm inclined to support this position as fundamental, unless people here can offer anecdotal evidence to dispute it.

Withdrawal works.

My husband and I had sex for five years without a single pregnancy. I think that we used condoms or I was on the pill for less than 1.5 years of that time. The rest of the time he just pulled out. No babies. And we're definitely a fertile couple because I got pregnant the first try with both of my kids. I think it's a dammed miracle I didn't get pregnant all those years only pulling out.

Like I said itcb "If I can not get pregnant anyone can not get pregnant."

Men, there are women dumb enough out there to just assume they're infertile for no good reason... and women who apparently think skipping BC pills or not taking them the same time of day every day is okay

wrap that shit up if you want to be sure you're not going to impregnate her

^^^ Yep, I can think of 3 offhand who told me that they couldn't have children, to include my daughter's mother who said her OBGYN had told her it would be unlikely she could conceive again after the first pregnancy.

Side note: it only took her a few months to get pregnant again after I broke up with her and she started dating her now-husband.

Just a warning boys. According to my doctor I don't ovulate. In June I had an ultrasound that showed my ovaries covered in dozens and dozens of follicles of unreleased eggs. In July I was pregnant. The ultrasound showed perfectly healthy cyst less ovaries. Don't listen to women, even they don't know sometimes.

Are you reading the same thread the rest of us are? Most people aren't talking (at all) about situations where you are in a long term relationship and the woman gets pregnant.

^And the odds of you impregnating a casual acquaintance should be very low.

It should be evident that I'm speaking to the larger cultural and social repercussions of the attitudes that you all are expressing. We've got a real problem already. There are entirely too many men delaying adulthood, and women are reacting with this business about how they don't need a man. But they do need men--badly.

To be clear, abortion is for women, not for you. Women having access to safe abortions was not supposed to signal the start of a baby-free sex party. I repeat, there is no baby-free sex party. Consequences still exist, even with that super fun, cool girl you met at the laundromat and bwned while your clothes dried.

Of course, family planning issues wouldn't be such a problem if we raised girls with an ounce of self-esteem and the ability to see prospects for themselves outside of carrying your babies. But then most of you would never get laid.

this is sexist and irrelevant to the discussion

men people not wanting kids does not mean society needs to step in and say "hey, it's okay for women to steal sperm and carry out irresponsible pregnancies"

we don't need more people, flat out. we need more people with good families and responsible parents

^^Nobody needs to step in and say anything about whether or not it's okay. It's already happening, and it's been happening since forever. And access to safe abortions hasn't changed that--if anything, this problem has only gotten worse since abortions became more available.

I'm sorry that more women didn't get on board with your baby-free sex party thing.

It should be apparent at this point that Bridget is upset. She is upset because she knew/knows her best chance at landing a man was 10 years ago when she was young, modestly cute, and only slightly overweight. Now, she sees men her own age going for women 7 to 10 years younger, and feels threatened.
That is the nature of the game though. Women are attracted to wealth, which older men have. Women are attracted to beauty and fresh taint juice, found in younger women.
Which leads us here...to Bridget justifying trapping a man through having a child.

Most women I know who don't want kids are very careful about their forms of BC, rather than using abortions as a corrective method

adultswim is all about whimsical abortions though, Bullet. He thinks, in order to be fair an ethical, women should terminate pregnancies they want in order to try for a baby at a sperm bank.

And I don't think I'm really espousing a "line of thinking." I'm just pointing out the circumstances under which babies are made and have been made forever.

At this point, I plan to keep posting in this thread every day until I can get one person to agree with me. It's going to be so satisfying.

Even though I had been told since I was 19 that I may never get pregnant I warned anyone who slept with me that any accidents would be kept. I'm sure some dudes thought I was crazy but I wanted to be honest. Knowing that if an accident happened it may be my only chance...well, I wanted the guy to know it. Now, I used birth control and condoms. Pills then IUD then back to pills.

the last two pages confuse me, mostly this page

If I found out I impregnated someone(lol)my first reaction would be to put a smile on my face and assure her things will be fine and we'll figure this out together. At least that's what I would want to hear if I was impregnated at this time in my life. I figure I'd be scared shitless and would need someone strong to lean on.

I still don't understand why you consider your sperm *stolen* when if was clearly given to her. You cannot dictate how she uses it once it is a part of her body. It voluntarily left your possession, it now belongs to her. It's not like you intended for her to borrow your sperm.

even if i concede that it's not theft (which is fair in some situations), it's comparable to giving someone a car, which they then use to drive into your house

yeah, it's their car, but they repurposed it in a way that is not agreeable to you
