^ I don't remember the source, but I remember hearing once "If you do well in the summer league, it doesn't mean squat... If you do poorly, it's a bad sign."

Ive never said john wall will never be a good player. Weird statement.

this was my teamalthough i usually went with payton over schrempf[Edited on July 19, 2013 at 12:02 PM. Reason : but if i played with the hornets, i used muggsy. gotsta have a 3 pt shooter.]

when I was a kid, I noticed Muggsy didn't shoot a lot of threes, and I assumed it was because he was too small and weak to get the ball to the rim

i really really really hope they don't fuck with hugo. i'm gonna assume that they will update him at least a little bit, b/c the hugo we remember was and still looks a little "80s/early 90s". however, that's what i love about it. but, i know they won't be able to resist changing him up to modernize him. i guess they might be able to surprise me with a new hugo. but it better at the very least keep the old hugo feel.

^^I still have that picture.
7/20/2013 5:15:34 PM
does anyone remember the big-head caricatures the Charlotte Observer did for all the players? if it wasnt the inaugural season, it was the next year. each piece took up a full page and it was in the Sunday sports section.... i think i had all of them at one point.
7/20/2013 6:33:43 PM
I think mike holton or ralph lewis. Its too bad sidney wasnt in the picture. I fired up nba showdown last week (the sequel to bulls vs blazers) and dropped 40 points in the first quarter with tony bennett. Yep. Still got it. Hes probably the most outrageously unstoppable scrub in any video game since Wayne haddix
7/20/2013 6:37:43 PM
yeah you're right thats Lewis in between Dell and Kelly and Holton on the rightcant remember that last coaches name still
7/20/2013 6:41:14 PM
Poll skew ... not that this really needs our help, but hopefully this sends a message. I don't think any of us want a carolina blue Charlotte Hornets

TEAL you mark-ass sons of bitcheswtf
7/25/2013 9:39:50 AM
Ouch. 3/$18 for gerald Henderson. Rough off season. A top pick, tons of cap space, gordon expiring, thomas 2 yrs before expiring, and we had diop and that guard expiring. We somehow walk away with no assets and no cap space. Sheesh. What was the point of rebuilding if we weren't going to try to rebuild? We had a pretty good team three years ago. Now we dont.
7/28/2013 10:45:52 AM
Henderson was the best player on the team at the end of last year, averaging 24 points per game on 48% shooting over the final 23 games. $6 mil per year is a good deal if he can get past his injury issues. The player option means that it's really a 2-year deal, since Hendo will probably opt out. This team is still bad enough on D that they will have a top-5 pick in all likelihood. Plus they have Portland and Detroit's picks coming, likely in the 12-18 range. 3 first round picks in a loaded draft next year, how many more "assets" can they really stockpile? Lots of teams will have cap space next year. It is meaningless if free agents don't want to come to Charlotte and the only thing you can get for it is a 2nd round pick or project in return for helping another team unload a bad deal. The Hornets will be competitive starting in 2014-15, and they will only get better from there with the young guys entering their primes.[Edited on July 28, 2013 at 4:36 PM. 7/29/2013 12:02:44 AM
No you use cap space to get first round picks and prospects. Not to lock up average players like Jefferson and Gerald. We have to give mkg a big deal in a few years and kemba something. We don't have time to waste. The Portland pick should be good but the Detroit one may not be worth much.

The bar graphs reflect the average points given by the voters for each category. The good news for Charlotte: They've improved their future power rating by 37 points, and received a slight bump in the Players category by way of signing Al Jefferson and drafting Cody Zeller. The bad news: They are still dead last in the rankings. As expected, even when the Bobcats do something right, they do it wrong: Namely, they're paying $60 million this season for a team that will not even come close to competing for a playoff spot, and yet is still good enough to play them out of a top-three draft pick in what's shaping up to be a star-laden class. Overpaying talent to come play in a less-than-desirable market is somewhat understandable, but you have to wonder if there were other more appropriate targets Charlotte could have gone after beside Jefferson.Hiring Steve Clifford as head coach could be seen as a positive move, except for the fact that he's the fourth head coach they've had in as many seasons. Expectations couldn't have been high for his predecessor, Mike Dunlap, and yet he was run out of town after one year. Clifford was a longtime assistant under both Jeff and Stan Van Gundy, and spent last season on Mike D'Antoni's staff, so he brings "best of both worlds" experience in terms of having served under the brightest minds on both sides of the ball.Ultimately, Charlotte resides at the bottom of the rankings every year mainly because of their management (which also placed last in the power ratings): There's not a lot of trust in the decision-making ability of Bobcats leadership, and the head-scratching moves they make don't help to diminish that perception.-- Amin Elhassan(Previous rank: 30)

This poster was on the wall at Brother's Pizza until the end. Wonder where all that memorabilia from the '74 and '83 teams that used to be in there is now?lol, poor near-extinct Bobcat. If they'd named him Foghat the Bobcat after all, maybe they'd have survived.
11/25/2013 6:38:57 PM
God I had low expectations for cody zeller but hes certainty exceeded them. I wonder if we could just give away zeller in a trade with ben gordon and jeff taylors expiring deals and get some overpaid guy plus another first rounder from a team seeking cap relief. What a worthless fucking draft even oladipo has sucked dick so far.
11/25/2013 6:52:06 PM
^when Bennett and Oladipo were the top two picks, you knew it was a crap draft.

so much for the playoffs. MKG out 4-6 weeks with a broken hand.Expect his minutes to go to Jeff "D-League" Taylor and the losses to quickly follow.Hopefully we get in the lottery and win a top 3 pick somehow.

Stephen Curry scores 43, 32 in the second half, in his return to Charlotte but the Bobcats move to 10-11 as they defeat the Warriors, 115-111. Kemba Walker scored 27 2nd half points himself. This team ain't that bad. They blew two late leads against Miami and Dallas or else they would have a better record.

Holy shit ... Kemba is clutch. Just hit the game-winner in OT vs the Raptors on a fadeaway j with 1 second on the clock. Good luck ever trying to tank with that guy on the team.
12/18/2013 9:59:54 PM
Kemba is so legitHe doesn't get near the credit he deserves as one of the best young guards in the league
12/18/2013 10:02:52 PM
Kemba is great, but it'd be pretty easy to tank with him still being great
12/18/2013 10:05:22 PM
I remember face says Kember Walker is done.

A little disappointed. The new logo is cool, but it's definitely not close to the original. I was hoping they would just streamline the original hugo logo. Oh well still kinda sweet
