I can't wait to see the Game of Thrones thread blow up after the Red Wedding episode. It's going to be awesome.
5/21/2013 11:35:53 AM
in the book, wasn't Joffrey killed during the ceremony? Or was there a separate feast after?
5/21/2013 11:42:07 AM
Are they going to have both weddings this season or push the Tyrell wedding into next season?
5/21/2013 11:42:55 AM
5/21/2013 11:49:35 AM
Well Oberyn Martell is Tryion's Champion after he is accused, so it would seem likely that he would be introduced during the Purple Wedding, and he hasn't been casted yet, but anything could happen.
5/21/2013 11:59:01 AM
sorry, yeah his wedding. thanks, i couldn't remember for sure if it was during or at a separate feast.
5/21/2013 11:59:37 AM
he dies at his own reception, after his marriage ceremonyyou know, somewhere in those pages and pages where GRRM feels the need to describe every iota of food present
5/21/2013 12:08:53 PM
She looks the best naked though...followed Melisandre, then Dany. But I think you're right about the necessity of her character...unless GRRM decides to do something with her in his final books...I just can't imagine how he could make her relevant again.
5/21/2013 1:30:04 PM
I'm entirely positive that Jeyne Westerling will not have any significant role in the story going forward. She's not prancing around the Riverlands with the Blackfish and she's certainly not pregnant. It's why the showrunners were totally free to just replace her character in the TV show with someone who has an entirely different back story.
5/21/2013 1:38:40 PM
It's not about Jeyne or Talisa, it's about the child, which could exist.
5/21/2013 2:07:16 PM
Aren't there enough people clamoring for the throne that we don't also need another Stark upstart?seems silly
5/21/2013 4:05:47 PM
It gets blackfish in on the action again. He is to Robb as the BWOB is to Ned.
5/21/2013 4:08:26 PM
5/21/2013 5:05:27 PM
Srsly. I may throw my hat in the race.
5/21/2013 5:56:11 PM
^^ we had just been talking about how many characters they might cut from the show due to sheer numbers, so I can think of quite a few good reasons not to add more characters
5/21/2013 6:59:41 PM
Three Dragons:DanyJonAegon
5/22/2013 1:12:05 AM
I suppose that would work, but there's no way Aegon is actually Aegon, Rhaegar's son. That sucka is a Blackfyre.Three Dragons:DanyJon (via sweet Warg action)Tyrion ]
5/22/2013 6:53:21 AM
duuuuude maybe jon will warg with a dragon!!!!!!!!!
5/22/2013 7:55:13 AM
How is Tyrion a dragon? Bran is more likely to be one of the dragons, at least then you have a reason why Rhaegal is green.[Edited on May 22, 2013 at 9:38 AM. Reason : I don't think Bran's actually one of the dragons, just more likely than A+J=T]
5/22/2013 9:36:39 AM
Remember back in book 1 when Tyrion gave Robb the designs for a saddle so that Bran could ride horses? Perhaps it is foreshadowing that Tyrion will use a similar saddle on dragons.
5/22/2013 9:44:46 AM
That seems like a stretch to me
5/22/2013 11:23:56 AM
Yeah, the three dragons are gonna be Jon, aegon, and danaerys. Even if aegon is a blackfyre (which I don't believe) he is still technically a targ by blood since they were legitimized. And it would make both the other targs danaerys nephews..
5/22/2013 11:37:28 AM
There is a whole theory where Tyrion or Cersei/Jaime are secret Targs. The thought is that Arys II raped Tywin's wife during his stint as Hand of King. It comes from passages in Game of Thrones where Tyrion talks about how he has dragon dreams and is mesmerized by fire, etc.... Also his hair color is described as more whitish then the normal Lannister gold in the books, which would not be expected since Tywin married his cousin. It might also mean that Tywin was quite literal when he told Tyrion "you are no son of mine". I personally don't buy it, mostly because we have enough secret Targs running around.[Edited on May 22, 2013 at 11:51 AM. Reason : :]
5/22/2013 11:45:39 AM
^ I've never bought that theory because tywin would never have allowed him to be born, he would have had Joanna drinking gallons of moon tea. And if he was born tywin would have had him killed as a baby, especially after he killed Joanna during childbirth

^there is no need for spoiler tags in this thread. everything is free game
5/22/2013 12:44:26 PM
^^Yeah, it's definitely been mentioned that Aerys "lusted" after Joanna and maybe copped a feel or two during the bedding. The actual rape that may have conceived one or more Tywin's children is just speculation.

I usually catch up on GoT the next day because I try to go to bed early on Sunday nights, but I think I'll have to watch this episode tonight so I dont have to avoid reading everyone's reactions til tomorrow night, this is gonna be good
6/2/2013 8:01:55 PM
kinda wish people hadn't hyped it up so muchI'm worried show-only people will pretty much expect anything nowobviously, I doubt they'll see Grey Wind's head coming... but still
6/2/2013 8:07:44 PM
Well... goddamn.
6/2/2013 9:55:01 PM
Wow, breathtaking stuff
6/2/2013 9:56:51 PM
Fuck yes
6/2/2013 9:58:33 PM
so, no Grey Wind head on Robb?or are we saving that for when they clean everything up in the next episode?I guess they could nix it altogether, but I thought it was extra insulting
6/2/2013 10:06:57 PM
That'll probably be the opener for next week
6/2/2013 10:09:08 PM
Small differences are now pissing me off. Bran isn't a warg. Why even bother calling him that. They foreshadowed Jon's fate in book 5 way too much when the wildlings warg rushed into his birds body right before death. Sure it's been predicted that Jon will live in ghost, but not certain enough yet.Why the fuck did they need to make Jon's wife pregnant. Just to stab a baby in the womb? That's obscene and completely unnecessary. And if she wasn't a spy like some people thought...why bother changing who his wife was. Really a big waste.I'm sure there are more. Can't remeber them now.
6/2/2013 10:14:43 PM
I agree that having Talisa be pregnant was pointless, but I'm glad they ended her and the baby all at once: it would've been weird to have her still alive after all of thatHow fast do you guys think that they'll pull out Lady Stoneheart? like, will it be a bombshell before the end of this season, or wait until next season? Or will they go there at all?
6/2/2013 10:24:31 PM
6/2/2013 10:24:58 PM
Yeah, that seems right... I wonder when they'll do Joff's wedding: probably second or third episode next season?
6/2/2013 11:00:17 PM
Yeah I think so.
6/2/2013 11:10:36 PM
6/2/2013 11:17:59 PM
6/2/2013 11:18:08 PM
Ok right, Bran is a warg...but the show is making it confusing. My gf had to ask me why he was a warg all of the sudden and then she thought Jojen was a warg too.
