As anyone who has been really drunk before knows, there is a window of time where you're coherent enough to say I'm too drunk, I wanna go home, etc etc etc. She wanted it, I can tell from her thighs. She was not a virgin.

Here's the thing: drinking to excess is indeed an unsafe situation. It's an unsafe situation because you can get alcohol poisoning, or you can aspirate your own vomit and choke to death, or it can impair your judgment and lead you to spend $800 on a VHS archive of Manimal: The Complete Series. Those are all reasonable concerns that someone drinking should have to worry about and take steps to avoid. "I might get raped" is NOT a reasonable concern that ANYONE should have to worry about, and by saying "well, she shouldn't have put herself in that situation" in connection with sexual assault, you're saying that it's the girl's responsibility to not get raped. Yet, there are people who have a possibly sub conscious compulsion that a woman cannot get away with having sex, even non-consensual sex without getting at least some kind of shaming, one way or the other. Shit like, "It's her fault for getting drunk around men." is the worst, or at least I thought so, until I just read, "Well she was going to have sex with them anyway." which is now the worst. There is exactly 1 person who should be shamed when a stupid-drunk girl gets raped, and that's the rapist. [Edited on March 19, 2013 at 12:14 PM. Reason : .]

It is the girls responsibility, shit I'm black. Do you see me walking through a gated community at night in a hoodie? NO I MIGHT GET SHOT.

underage drinking is illegal too. drinking yourself to death is also illegal. we're just going to give girls a pass on that though. Keep doing it girls! if anything bad happens just blame all of the people around you! Blame the party! Blame the town! Hell, blame our whole society! You are nothing but a sweet little victim.[Edited on March 19, 2013 at 1:36 PM. Reason : nobody should have to say im not going to drink too much i might pass out. that wouldnt be fair.]
3/19/2013 1:35:52 PM
a failed attempted suicide can get you charged with attempted murder
3/19/2013 1:48:11 PM
She chose to drink to oblivion. She did not choose to be molested. Its really not that complicated.I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
3/19/2013 1:48:33 PM
yah, that being said, I don't think she went to the party to drink herself to death, though

The E Man hates women
3/19/2013 1:52:25 PM
Right I mean it happens. Its not anyone's responsibility to keep someone from drinking but it is totally your responsibility to not rape someone. If you have a problem with that then you should probably kill yourself. I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
3/19/2013 1:54:29 PM
no one is ever to blame if they are a victim, but there is definitely something be said for doing your due diligence in keeping yourself safe. it's sad, but there have always been rapes, and always will. consciously avoiding situations that are clearly more likely for these sort of things to occur will certainly keep you safer.if i walk thorough a bad neighborhood wearing gaudy jewelry and counting the check i just cashed, and get robbed, did i do anything "wrong"? no, but it's clear i wasn't doing myself any favors.make no mistake, the actions of the football team were deplorable and i don't think any punishment is harsh enough. and the admission in the video in conjunction with the social media is plenty evidence to me.

^ pretty much says it all.
3/19/2013 2:17:53 PM
You know what, I'm just going to stay in my house forever. There's no rapists in my house and I increase my chance of getting raped by 100% by leaving itI'm Krallum and I approved this message.
3/19/2013 2:18:32 PM
so nobody can be blamed for commiting a crime if a crime is committed against them as a result?I'm not blaming her for getting raped but I'm blaming her for being drink.Teen boys do not understand drunken consent because the people educating them do not expect girls to be drunk. Nobody teaches their son "No means not but so does being over the alcohol limit of .08 in most states"As a teenager no girl ever said "lets have sex" or " i hereby give you consent to have intercourse with me" because underage people can't give legal consent ANYWAY. I'm just saying the boy sshould be punished for what they did but she should also be punished for what she did or else we are sending a message to young girls everywhere that it is ok to break the law. it is ok to destroy your body and it is the responsibility of your peers to make sure you are safe.
3/19/2013 2:18:47 PM
Wrong. The message we are sending is that males are incapable of not raping someone. Its insulting to the boys on this team to suggest that they either didn't know what they were doing or couldn't have not done it.I'm krallum and I approved this message./]
3/19/2013 2:19:59 PM
the boys got 3 yrs and the girl pretty much got the life sentence dealing with a rape

stumbling into any situation you want without any sort of consideration, while expecting everyone to be moral and nothing to ever happen to you isn't the least bit realistic. it's idealistic.
3/19/2013 2:24:23 PM
Actually she was out cold the whole time so the only thing she experienced were the drugs she ingested.[Edited on March 19, 2013 at 2:25 PM. Reason : this was not a "pull you in the bushes" rape. i don't even think they had sexy with her.]
3/19/2013 2:25:01 PM
All I know is I've never been to a party where any of my friends have taken advantage of anyone who is drunk other than maybe drawing a dick on their face or building an actionfigure war on their passed out body. I've seen and been involved in fights, and other teenage bullshit but I've never hung out with people who would drag a passed out chick around. Maybe we are moral super heroes or something. Excuse me for thinking other people had any decencyI'm Krallum and I approved this message.[Edited on March 19, 2013 at 2:31 PM. Reason : A ACTIONFIGURE]
