Great episode. The pillow talk between Don and Betty was interesting, especially Betty's pity for Megan.

im actually surprised at how fulfilling and well-done that scene with Don and Betty was. I was like "O God" at first but it really wound up adding immensely to the plot. Plus, I must say Betty did some good acting, the best was when she put up the wrong arm during the bobby song and laughed and put the right arm up. That scene with the three of them was real sweet. Props to January Jones

OK a Bob "Bunson" noteThis is from a podcast and not an original catch...In the episode where Rogers mom died at the funeral Bob delivers food and says to Ken "when my father died a kind word was always appreciated" somethin like that. But, in this episode when he is talking to Pete about the male nurse he says "this nurse recently restored my father to full health"hm...Also this podcast presents the case that Bob is actually Joans gay friend, getting that vibe from the nature of his and Joans interaction as they packed for the beach; even going so far as to say that his reaction to Roger showing up was not the way a man competing for Joan's interest would respond. I have to rewatch and pay close attention but what yall think?

After reading 3^, perhaps it's Sylvia that gets murdered. And part of the investigation will turn to Don's cigarettes butts at their back door.
5/29/2013 7:51:43 PM
i began actually feeling megan might get murdered during season five like on a train to an audition; but that was under the impression that Don and her were going to have a happy marriage and he would suddenly lose her to violence and then tailspin into his decline because hes devastatedI actually dont think any other characters are going to be killed off. IMO these little signs and clues of murder/someones death are red herrings and the actuality is something more of a figurative thing. There's no one falling out of a 42 story window in this story.(looking at other photos of Sharon Tate she and Jessica Pare have nearly identical facial bone structure)[Edited on May 29, 2013 at 10:16 PM. sense of foreboding with mad men is crazy now.

I'm still convinced that Don will have a heart attack this season. There was that opening scene in the premiere, then later when he collapsed after the robbery...he called sally and said "it is okay, I didn't have a heart attack or anything."

I'm going to miss this show so hard. Just hearing the opening theme is soothing to me. Like, even when I'm in a bad mood and not all that excited to watch, my mood immediately improves once the music starts. It's kind of embarrassing but also awesome.

^ Is this the last season?
6/6/2013 8:40:21 AM
I dunno. Last season was supposed to be the last season. But then they made arrangements for the current one, and everyone acted like that was the plan all along. Now this season is supposed to be the last season.LOL, just looked it up. There is going to be a seventh season. This is good news for me![Edited on June 6, 2013 at 9:03 AM. Reason : WTF]

just started watching this. on like ep5 season2. I tired about how they're trying to make me like the Don draper. 1960 was a time when there were places in america for honorable men to be revered. heroes aren't grown from sin or hardship, that is a fantasy. the truth is, they are born that way.
6/9/2013 4:29:05 PM
i predict this show will completely puss out on addressing the big issues it was set-up to do. like how Rome did with the Jews/Christians and The West Wing did about Rethuglicans, and Star Trek did about The Prime Directive.gotta please the lowest common demon as usual

I'm really not sure how I feel about this season at all
6/10/2013 12:07:11 AM
Overall I like it.The long and painful downfall of Don Draper is getting a bit old, but to be fair that theme was present in the opening credits during S1:E1That being said there are still peripheral themes(Peggy in particular for me), interesting historical segues, and the entertaining(however predictable) exploits of The Donald.
6/10/2013 12:43:12 AM
I didn't see the Bob guy being gay...but the sally has been a pivotal role in character play throughout the series...last season was the mom and getting her period thing to make us feel sorry for betty draper and now hating don...good stuff. The stuff at the office just seems unorganized and almost stupid. I want to see products and some ad sales. I loved the old art work we'd see and how they crush the deadlines with amazing stuff. the last one to come to mind was the icee one where don left that guys art in the car but his was amazing.
6/10/2013 1:35:37 AM
sno ball.and ginsberg's campaign was way better. "we made the sale didn't we?"

i don't know if that's better or worse than what i thought was going to happen, so i was quite relieved it was just sally walking in on don and sylvia.i figured with the break ins and increased city violence, that sally entering the apartment was going to lead to a mistaken home invasion/defending ones property incident...like peggy stabbing abe. but ending in sally dying instead.yeah let's kill a kid! #madthrones
6/10/2013 12:51:06 PM
The question of Bob being gay has been out there for a long time. I believe a few people even called it out in this thread. I was a little shocked, though, to see Bob come on to Pete so strongly. It was definitely a move of desperation and it just fell flat. The Peggy/Pete/Teddy scene was great. I liked seeing Peggy and Pete connect and Teddy be slightly jealous. It was a good scene, probably one of the best in the episode. Another being the scene with Peggy and Pete's mom. In fact, Peggy's interactions were probably the only good thing about that episode for me. I even chuckled at the end when she had that cat.The Don stuff, while eventful, was uninteresting to me. We learned that Don really loves Sylvia and that she was willing to sleep with Don again, none of that made me feel anything. Other than the brief "OMG Sally saw them" moment, I had zero emotion or feeling about any part of Don's storyline. The same goes for the office. It used to be that the office was a major aspect of the show and acted as a stage for educating us on gender and race politics, character development and romanticizing a few ads of yesteryear. None of that happens now, at least not for me. The office appears to be mostly filler and surrounding those scenes are roughly put together story lines that are too brief and too disconnected to add any real value to the show. This season hasn't been "bad" but it definitely isn't what the show has been in the past and seems like it is going to end up like LOST. Great beginning but rushed at the end, finishing with a completely bullshit ending that tarnishes the legacy of what was an otherwise great show.

"You're a monster." resume fetal position
6/16/2013 11:24:42 PM
so the "Bob Benson is the new Don Draper" theory was the right onealso, there was a homosexual gentleman at the pool yesterday wearing a pair of Bob Benson's. pretty sure they were an exact replica
6/17/2013 12:06:09 AM
I even like the ^ "who hired you?" Just so Don sneaked in to the firm, so too did Bob. I did like how Pete handled it, though. Basically went ahead and gave the same speech that cooper gave him way back when.
6/17/2013 9:08:28 AM
The show is really, really depressing right now. Nobody's having any fun or experiencing happiness/success/insight.We need Roger to crack more jokes.

Next season is the last of the series... I'm assuming it'll start/end about the same time.

Did Don just get fired?I think it's funny they highlighted SCP at the start of the episode and with the coffee cups....leading....I didn't expect Don to get the boot.[Edited on June 24, 2013 at 8:16 AM. Reason : s]

So much in that episode that I didn't expect. I have to again tip my hat to Bob Benson. His play on Pete and his interactions with Joan are great. I wonder how much we will see if Ted and Peye next season.
