It's a mediocre band, but the name's no good either.

Uh, the name is great. But I wouldn't even call them mediocre. Just kind of annoying.

for me they teeter between pretty good and pretty annoying. it's probably my south-florida-knew-them-before-they-were-big bias.

The King's show last year was fun.

We were nearly blackout and kind of goofy heckle-dancing. If that's a thing.

So many -'s ITP.

arguable encrypted transmission from Boards of Canada yesterday, people now talking about troll/hoax vs. 2013 release.

I remember w/ the Geogaddi promo release materials, the people working at Schoolkids seemed to take all of it for themselves.

the new Steve Earle album is pretty good. it jumps around a bit, but it's a quick album. The Low Highway

I'll have to check it out. The only one of his I've ever owned is Transcendental Blues. Any other 1 or 2 that stand out that I should check out? I know he has tons of albums which is honestly why I haven't gotten around to checking others out; I just didn't know where to start.

I've been recommended The Mountain before.

Transcendental Blues is really good. As is The Mountain, in which he's accompanied by the Del McCoury Band. I would recommend Townes (a tribute to TVZ) and Washington Square Serenade.

to be honest, his early albums (Copperhead Road, Guitar Town, and any with "The Dukes) are good, but a much more traditional country rock vibe. Almost all of his albums during the Bush era are politically driven, with the last few being more personally reflective.

Yeah I really dig Transcendental Blues. A few tracks I REALLY like (thesequence of Steve's Last Ramble->The Galway Girl->Lonelier Than This) and then the rest are good to listen to too. It's not the kind of stuff I normally listen to on CD but I like that one and I have a feeling I'd like a couple others of his (not the more traditional country rock for sure though).

Junip - Jose Gonzalez's band has a new album out. And it's exactly what you'd expect from a Jose Gonzalez band.

I don't know how I feel about this new Bleached single Dead in your Head. I like singing along but it seems kind of mundane. Doesn't really have the oomph of Electric Chair etc. Guess i should listen to the album

The combination of Daft Punk & Nile Rodgers ensures its extreme fidelity. If Jeff Lynne played on it, it'd have to come with some new ultra-super-duper-high-fidelity badge.

I disagree with dave grohl. I don't want anyone who would watch american idol anywhere near my rock and roll. If you think music being a competition is anything near reality then please stay in whatever shitty pop american idol is a part of. Speaking of dave grohl who was way better in this band than any of those times he thinks he should be playing guitar and singing

I'm Krallum and I approved this message.

yeah, i was so surprised by how good the new mikal cronin was when i first heard it like a month ago...i knew he was good but i didn't know he was that good

also this new vampire weekend is really really good. i have to admit i didn't think they would do much after their debut, but they've written three really good records that expand on their sound while remaining true to it. i wouldn't be surprised if "diane young" even got radio airplay, sounds like it could be a radio hit.

I guess I'll give that Michael Cronenberg an honest listen. Pretty sure I didn't like the song I had heard off of it.

For the record I think Merge is a pretty terrible label in who they sign as opposed to my overall tastes, and that was a huge turnoff to begin with. If I don't like this record, I'm probly gonna choke a bitch from the Internet for making me listen to it.

^^ It's fine, but I don't get the people who are flipping for it. It's a solid pop record, but I've listened to it a half dozen times and can probably only recall one hook.

-Vampire Weekend is much better than expected

-The new National album is incredible and demands/ deserves 10000000 listens

-That new Love Language song is crap
