Michigan shot really well from outside. Gottfried better have his defense ready because Burke and Robinson will knock it down if we give them open looks.

Rooting for Duke tonight over UK. Fuck Calipari.

Though Duke will pass us in the rankings, not that it matters.

I'm rooting for Duke as well. Getting tired of Calipari getting whoever the fuck he wants. Would love to see him have a shitty season and start to lose some of that luster.

If they are going to loose to Duke I want them to loose with a healthy Harrow playing, not some scrub.

if you watched the maryland game, this could be your season. mostly due to the problems at the guard position. but we know how calipari can do for guards. i just don't see his magic working for harrow at all. goodwin will be really good though.

Not that I like him but I feel like he has been a net benefit to us. UNC and Duke spend all ther recuiting resources on top 10 rectuits only to lose allmost all of them to kentucky, meanwhile we almost have our pick of 10-40 recruits (especially in-state).

Also he can suck all the players that don't fit our program out through transfers and just leave us with the good ones.

I'm generally pro to neutral on Cal. I feel like he actually cares about getting the players paid and would tell a player to go pro even if it wasn't in Cal's best interest. Granted he does this because he know's they'll flock to him since he's okay with this. I've gotten the feeling in the past K and Roy/Dean would get players to stick around even if it wasn't in their best interest.

whether Kentucky loses against Duke tonight will have next to no baring on their overall performance this season. two years ago they lost 9 games and still made it to the Final 4. between a freshman squad and the program's expectations, the regular season doesn't begin until the tournament. and this Duke game won't effect the Wildcats recruiting at all. they already have the best class coming in next year.

Can I hate them because Calipari is a vindictive sleazy douche who I haven't been able to stand since Marcus Camby was fucking hookers in Amherst?

Other than the fact that it was insulting duke (so +5 bonus points) I got absolutely nothing out of that article.

He just talked in circles with no conclusions given or sound reasons why he supports Cal over K.

And I didn't get the comparisons to Paterno at all (other than the "both are legendary coaches who people consider above reproach" angle).

Duke returns far more experience, has a better and more seasoned backcourt, and it is the second game of the season. Not surprising at all.

do as you want, brother.

UMASS and UCONN had a solid rivalry for a hot minute and i guess that's contributed a lot to your antipathy.

the institution of major college athletics is definitely sleazy, but i'm not sure Calipari is.

after 5 of his players were selected in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft, Calipari declared it the greatest day in the history of Kentucky basketball. they'd just been upset in the elite 8 by West Virginia. they hadn't made the final 4 in a decade. and they were having to start over the following season with an entirely new squad. in that moment, he seized ownership of the program from a horde of existentially vacuous fans and handed it to his players. sure, the remark and the event were an excellent recruiting tool, but i trust he believed in what he was saying. i'm happy to support a team who's coach is more interested in making his players millionaires than giving a bunch of slobs the vicarious thrill of a championship.

(all that said, i'd trade the Calipari era in a millisecond for Rick Pitino never having left the team)

Cal is just a big meanie. He needs to remember that Harrow is a sensitive kid.

Kentucky played like total shit against umd. If the Terps would've just had a mediocre night shooting instead of an atrocious night, they would've won by double digits

GG ESPN putting up season averages when both teams have played ONE game.

Ryan Harrow didn't want to get taunted by the Cameron Crazies. ESPN just said the game is near his family and HS in Atlanta and he was all (cue press conference photo). Then Cal told him the guy was recruited to replace took his starting spot and he was all...

Why do they show starting lineups for "big" games. If its good tv, my question is, why don't they show it for every game? They still talk about the starters every game but they don't show the schools call them out unless its a "big" game.

Do they usually do that? I have never seen that in a non-Final Four game until tonight I don't think.

Duke's defense will always be tough for us, but the way you beat it is with dribble penetration. Brown and purvis should be able to break it down and dish to an open Leslie.

I see it all the time for primetime rivalry games or 1v2 games. First noticed it when tennessee played memphis a few years back. but why not show it is the question?
