i mean obviously not worth a top-tier contract, but he's definitely worth top 5-10 WR money, he's only been around for 3 years too.

i'm just saying that if we could turn Stewart into Wallace that would be a steal, not advocating breaking the bank and going hard after the guy. we should be able to find some receivers in the draft in the next few years.

well, obviously its not likely we go out and get mike wallace, but we need to do something soonish -- for some reason, Smitty never got the memo about how he was supposed to tail off at the end of his career, which is fucking lucky for us. I think we can get two more years just like last year out of him, as long as he's hyped about playing with Cam.

Lafell is probably a really good third/average second WR on the depth chart, I don't think we can accurately judge Gettis yet....If Armanti makes the team for opening day, we didn't do enough to get depth in the offseason. I'll be curious to see what receivers are around in the second round, because if Alshon is on the board I think we should take him, needs be damned.

whoa man, I'm not saying anything against Gettis -- personally, my optimism makes me think he could be a hell of a deep threat in this offense, and he certainly had a nice rookie year for a 6th round pick.

I'm just saying it was one year, he tore his ACL(?), and you can't fairly judge his spot in the depth chart. He could very well be our #1 after Smitty leaves, who knows.

^^ he may well be available. Connor Shaw is a dogshit passing qb and caused his numbers to drop this year, and Blackmon, Wright, and Floyd are all most likely ahead of Alshon on the board of any given GM. I doubt we'll get through 3 WRs in this draft by the 40th pick -- hopefully he slips to us, because he looks like one hell of a red zone threat.

Supposedly Campbell is a guard, not tackle. However, the Panthers plan to move him to tackle. I would assume this will be at the eventual expense of Otah, who casual fans probably don't even remember actually playing in a game.
