I'm not claiming that I watched 5,000 hours of film to determine that Campbell doesn't shoot threes.

I'm looking at the fucking data and relaying to the casual NC State fan, hey this team doesn't shoot any fucking threes.

Most people would appreciate being told a fact like that before they watch a game without having to do the leg work or spend the money to do so.

Instead, I get idiots saying "OH MY GOD THEY SHOT A THREE I SAW IT!!!"

Alright we got out of this one. Thank god.

Howell was a monster tonight and Lobo looks ready for ACC play.

Discouraging to see Wood not playing heady basketball and CJ Leslie regressing to his former self though.

We're going to lose quite a few games based on our lack of depth. We've just got to hope to improve dramatically over these next 3 weeks before we hit the meat of our schedule. We need one guy off our bench to step up whether its Painter, TDT, Harris, Vandy, or Johnson. We just need to get something out of 2 of them for god's sake.

Campbell won at Iowa, so they aren't Northeastern/Morehead State bad, but we still should have won easily.

Campbell is practically ranked next to Northeastern.


This was a horrible game, period.

We only won because they are one of the worst rebounding teams in the country and they have no depth and tired late against us.

The bottom line is that we play zero defense. That won't cut it when we play real teams. We have to have a remarkable ACC resume because we sucked OOC when we had a chance and the ACC isn't good enough for us to go 8-8 this year and expect anyone to give a shit.

Just got back from the game. Campbell played there ass off and hit some tough shots (they also hit most of the open shots we gave them). They are a dirty motherfucking team. The team seemed to really buy into the keep on fouling cause they can't call them all mentality (and then they got makeup calls when the foul disparity gets too large). We need to find a lineup that can force turnovers. It may mean sitting Wood so we get some more speed out there. CJ Williams also played like a man possessed after the intentional where he was getting stepped all over. Every loose ball he was busting his ass to get to. Oh and Leslie looked sick.

JUST GOT BACK FROM THE GAME!

and here's some stats:
Brown had 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists Gottfried needs to tell him to drive everytime he has the lane.
Howell had 17 points and 17 rebounds. He makes too many stupid mistakes, but I don't get the Howell hate.

That said, most of that game was pretty ugly and scary. And I got to sit beside a 15-yr old campbell fan who weighed about 250.

Campbell shoots a high FG% because they dont shoot 3pointers and they play a bunch of shit teams.

Quit taking numbers out of context. This is why intrepretation is worth more than data mining.


And the sample size is plenty high enough. We aren't a tournament team right now. We need vast improvement and some luck to get in.

Personally, I don't see it happening. And if doesn't everyone should be held accountable, because we certainly should be a tournament team with a top 20 offense.

This is pathetic. There is no reason not to play any defense. Defense is a function of talent and effort. I refuse to believe this is a talent issue given our roster.

We are a team mostly comprised of good basketball players who were highly recruited.

Campbell is not.

Of our players who were not highly recruited, all of them receive next to no playing time or are seniors.

Of the players who are given the opportunity to impact the game most are players that the average teenage girl would identify as "good basketball players"

We improved dramatically over the season (a common TOB phenomenon that I credit him for) and we returned a ton of people from injury.

I wouldnt be surprised if we pull the same shit next season and start off as doormats and end the season as a borderline top 30 team. That seems to be TOB's calling card.


In the ACC right now we're a ~.500 team. We could improve and do better. We definitely should. There's no fucking reason we should be the worst defensive team in the past decade at NC State. Will it happen? I'm not sure. We're already halfway through the season and we haven't improved a bit. It's pretty frustrating to watch.

We lost our second game to WF by 7 points (34-27, not a blow-out).
We lost to #21 GT by 10 points (45-35, not a blow-out).
Both of these games we had a severely depleted defense.

We beat Liberty 43-21, and South Alabama 35-13 (not close games against jv teams).

You said we were blown out every game, and had close games against jv teams. Your statement was wrong, again.

Thankfully, TOB turned the season around and I'll give him some credit for that. But if he doesn't knock it off with the "suck the first half of the season and injure half the team in preseason" then he won't last much longer here.
