Inglourious Basterds is probably his best movie (yeah, I said it.)

^ Virtually every scene is dialogue overkill: the scene in the tavern is the most egregious example. And non of the characters really change from the beginning to the end of the movie. Waltz got his academy award because of how well he made his character switch from pure evil to being a benevolent grandpa figure.Django has a lot of scenes that are not just witty banter, and both Dr. Shultz and Django make clear progressions and develop individual characteristics throughout the movie.[Edited on April 24, 2013 at 1:41 AM. The scene in the tavern is full of beautifully crafted tension. It's a bit more than "witty banter"

^ I feel the same way, but there are a large group of tarantino haters that don't like scenes like that because it tends to drag on and on with no real character development. Tons of tention and banter, but little character development.Django is so good because both Django and Shultz adapt to the situation that they are in and adapt: Django turns into a killer bounty hunter, and shultz's character gains a new meaning in life when granted the opportunity to give somebody their freedom. It is very ironic that as a career he takes like away, but he himself dies so that life can be given to somebody else.If you can find anything like that in IB, I am all ears.[Edited on April 24, 2013 at 2:21 AM. i'm not arguing that.it's not that kind of movie.but comparing its dialogue and character development to death proof's is just silly

Is this is the Red Box yet? Its seems like something that I would watch.

yeah, it's at redbox now. And it has been for a couple of weeks, so there's a good chance you can get it whenever.

First.. finally saw Django over the weekend and really liked it. Second...the Tavern scene in IB is amazing. It's one of the best acts in the film. If I catch it on TV i usually watch up through the Tavern scene and then change the channel.

Just watched this for the first time. Did anyone else feel like the film switched directors every 20 minutes? Also, who was the woman with the half-covered face? They showed her maybe 3 times and it felt like she would have some significance but I don't think it ever played out.

this movie is edited weirdly. it doesn't have the same editing techniques as his other films. (I believe Tarantino used a different editor on this film than usual)I heard there were tons of delete scenes with her( masked woman) doing god knows what. But the actress is Zoe Bell who is a highly respected stunt woman. She is the one riding the hood of the car in Death Proof.[/Tarantino nerd]

I'd much rather re-watch Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill.

^^ agreed. I also watched it last night on netflix and it is definitely one of tarantino's best ones.
