Is someone really arguing that race isn't a protected class?? I feel like 1st graders know that.

^^ Naw, it's just an argument of semantics it looks like.Yesterday my husband and I went to Lynnwood Grill for lunch. There was a toddler at the table next to us that was not screaming and obnoxious. Just chilled eating Cheerios and playing with crayons. Parents cleaned up after their kid and wiped up the Cheerios as they were leaving too. It was a refreshing change from the last two times we've sat next to children in restaurants

the last one just sounds more like shitty management than a problem with children. we don't get magical time off for shit like that no matter who you are.
8/8/2011 12:00:59 PM
We do. It's pretty sweet, even though I have no kids.
8/8/2011 12:03:19 PM
We get time off for that sort of stuff too. Hell, if I wanted I could get time off to go with my husband to the doctor or to help out my parents. Maybe your employer sucks

got behind a woman at subway today who had a rabble of four running aroundInstead of just ordering for them she had to round up each one at a time to figure out what to put on the sandwich. Took me 20 minutes to get a sandwich.

^5 If you don't have a problem with it why did you write a 5 page essay about how much of a problem you have with it? You also called it "Dangerous" so I assume that's another problem you have with it.[Edited on August 9, 2011 at 10:37 AM. Reason : ]

the world would be a much better place if everyone started thinking of the things they do as privileges, and not declaring everything a right.

I was at the Angus Barn last night with my wife and her family, and some family brought a kid and it started crying... I was about to get pissed, but as soon as it started crying once we never heard it again... not sure if they took it out or just quieted it down.

^Hope you didn't order the veal that night.

^^I was there, too on the other side of the family. The father took his steak knife and cut the kid's vocal cords out.

good for him! see, this is the type of parenting we need in restaurants!
11/7/2011 10:51:45 AM
I dont see why its so hard for parents to just not take thier kids to restaurants until they are old enough to appreciate it and behave there.Guess what, you had kids, you can't do all the things you used to do.
11/7/2011 11:07:10 AM
How dare anyone that bothers me show their face in public?
11/7/2011 11:34:53 AM
^Because that is a perfect description of what we are talking about here...
11/7/2011 11:36:19 AM
I was at Costco the other day and someone's caterwauling toddler was acting up. A Grandma type figure came over and said something to the kid (couldn't hear),and the kid was like and shut right up. Better yet, it was quiet when I saw it about 20 minutes later. That elderly woman needs a gold medal for parenting, and probably has 15 grandkids.

I see a lot of posts from many w/o kids. Your tune will change when you have your own. My kids only go to restaurants with a order counter, a kids meal, or get crayons when we are seated.

11/8/2011 9:47:53 PM
Hey, my kids have had their asses spanked in parking lots. In this age, that may be looked on as abuse.
11/8/2011 9:57:08 PM
One thing wrong about parenting these days; no one teaches patience. Adults use distractions to help their children behave (ie: Nintendo DS, Ipods, portable DVD players, etc). Nothing wrong with having those devices, however, there are appropriate times and places for those things.

11/9/2011 8:31:41 AM
It's not trolling just because it makes you uncomfortable. The topic of this thread is closely tied to how children behave in public so it seems on topic to me.I agree with McDanger. You don't have to hit your children to discipline them (even in public) and it really doesn't help in the long run. Use the car as time out or just take them home if they're not willing to cooperate. Worked for us.
11/9/2011 9:05:05 AM
I never got hit in public. What I feared worse was my mom's pinches on my butt. They hurt like hell and I knew that if I made a sound, I would get a second helping and then some... I learned real quick; don't act up and I don't get pinched... Easy enough. So to some degree, I agree with McDanger[Edited on November 9, 2011 at 9:59 AM. Reason : ..]
