Why don't you describe it instead of asking everyone to listen to entire interview??

I love Grantland (one of the few sites I check every day) and 30 for 30, but I can take or leave content actually produced by Simmons. His long winded mailbags I never make it through and the BS report is sometimes funny but it's generally Sal providing all the humor. The question is though whether the talent assembled by Simmons will stick around on ESPN or fracture after his departure.

Doesn't matter. They'll always be second fiddle to TNT. At least until Chuck moves on.

here's what i don't get. the final straw, according to jim miller (those guys have all the fun, live from new york) was simmons going on the DP show and saying goodell had no testicular fortitudewhy the fuck is ESPN kowtowing to the NFL like this? ESPN makes $1B more a year than the NFL does. monday night football is such a small part of their entire portfolio, and the NFL screwed them on TV rights for it, to boot.looks like goodell isn't the only one with no testicular fortitude

You make it sound like they just air softball and bowling every Sunday during NFL season and that they don't cover the most popular sport in the country 365 days a year

Staff exodus well underwayhttp://www.vanityfair.com/news/2015/10/espn-grantland-problemSite may not last too much longer.

This Charles P. Pierce dude hates football so much it's almost hilarious. Seems like twice a year he writes an article about how football needs to die because it's a barbaric blood sport eclipsing anything the Roman Empire ever invented. Now he's got an article about how Greg Hardy basically embodies the NFL.

dude is a ridiculously great writer who is an expert at calling bullshit/pointing out hypocrisy not sure what's there to find fault with in that piece. I definitely don't think he hates football, as it's entirely possible to be a fan of something while pointing out how absurd some of the aspects of it are.

Rembert Browne had already announced that he was leaving today, and he was far and away my favorite person on Grantland. Hopefully the Lowe guy that does basketball moves his stuff to espn.com or something
10/30/2015 3:29:23 PM
I actually hope Zach Lowe leaves as well. I love his podcast and his articles and breakdowns of plays and games are incredible. He needs to go somewhere else, otherwise he'll end up being buried because he was part of Grantland.

he and Simmons are basically joined at the hipI'm sure he'd be happy to ask HBO/VICE to make him an offer as soon as his ESPN contract is up
