^^ That was the least professional ad I've ever seen. I like John Huntsman but it looks like it was put together in 2 hours with 'the fray' or some other grey's anatomy band playing in the background.

watched what I could of the Sunday debate last night. I genuinely loved the slam by Hunstman on Romney at the beginning. First he slammed Obamney for attacking him serving his country, and then Obamney served him up a nice bag of partisan bullshit that Huntsman slammed back in his face, saying that THAT was what was wrong with America right now. I'm on board the Paul/Hunstman campaign, lol

Gingrich just did a solid job riling up the crowd. wonder how that's going to play.sure would be nice if they asked the #2 guy in the campaign right now some questions, though. 40 minutes into the debate, they had asked Ron Paul a total of 2 questions, with everyone else fielding at least 3 or 4 questions, not to mention followups. Oh, and Paul is on the outside, as well, while the 2 guys he is ahead of are on the "inside." try to be a little more biased, Fox. jesus

never thought I'd see the day that invoking the words of Jesus in SC would get booed by Republicans. I guess the Golden Rule just doesn't count for anything among evangelicals anymore
1/16/2012 10:12:43 PM
Perry actually has a lot of good talking points and shares a lot of views with Paul.I don't understand why those voters aren't jumping on Paul's bandwagon (or maybe they already have). Now i don't believe Perry really believes some of the things he says, I think he was trying to seize on Paul's popularity and become the anti-Romney candidate.

^^^^It's probably better that Paul didn't get more questions tonight. Dude was a babbling mess out there. It sucks, but Paul is in his 70's. He has good days and bad days. He's not what he used to be, and the campaign trail is pretty brutal.[Edited on January 16, 2012 at 11:06 PM. Reason : ^]

I am still speechless that invoking the words of Jesus Christ in South Carolina gets booed by evangelicals

Jesus would never tell Americans what to do.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/17/politics/campaign-wrap/index.html?hpt=hp_t1Romney revealing that he will release his tax records, and that it's probably around ~15%Not that 15% is uncommon for those that make the majority of their money from investments, capital gains, etc... But I think his critics are going to eat him alive for this for being out of touch with the majority of Americans.
1/17/2012 6:59:25 PM
If 15% isn't uncommon for those that make the majority of their money from investments, capital gains, etc., then Romney really is an average guy!

CNN has a debate in South Carolina tonight. It'll be on from 8 to 10pm. Newt and Santorum have a lot riding on this.

It's gonna be a shit show. I can't wait.

I missed the debate. Want to watch it online now, where will it show up first yall think?
1/19/2012 10:02:46 PM
I'm not a Romney supporter, but who gives a fuck what his overall tax rate is, as long as he hasn't cheated?Furthermore, why do people get bent out of shape about his $10k "bet" and saying that $375k in speaking fees is "not much money (which, for him, it is not). He's fucking rich, and that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone at this point. Is great financial success such a bad quality for the most powerful man in the world? I just cannot stand stupid populism and a desire to elect a beer-drinking buddy to be the President of the United fucking States.
1/19/2012 10:58:20 PM
People like rich people whom they perceive to have earned their wealth through hard work and honest means. People dislike rich people whom they perceive to have accumulated wealth through loopholes and at the expense of other hard working, honest individuals. People want to know which one he is.
1/19/2012 11:51:02 PM
A lot of rich people act like faggots(windsurfing, speaking french), which Republicans hate.
1/20/2012 12:15:24 AM
The ideal Republican rich man:
1/20/2012 12:29:21 AM
^^^ agreed, but that has nothing to do with this populist backlash about him being unfit due to being out of touch with the average American, evidenced by him (understandably, given his wealth) being cavalier about sums of money that would be large to you or me.(for the record, I've made at least one, and I believe several, bets of $10k or more on this website. I specifically remember one regarding the airplane on the treadmill.)
1/20/2012 12:38:18 AM
and you too, are out of touch with most americans. its evidenced by your posting record. of course you wouldn't understand the backlash towards romney. you brag about having 7 vehicles.
1/20/2012 12:53:05 AM
oh christ, yes, I am the 1%, a rich fatcat with his bootheel on the proletariat. There aren't enough rolly eyes in the world.
1/20/2012 1:21:05 AM
Lulz at calling a company grade officer a corporate fat cat. Hey Duke, are you allowed to fly with your monocle and top hat?
1/20/2012 1:23:36 AM
Of course...and why do you think I'm a navigator/electronic warfare/weapons officer? It's not like I'm gonna fly myself--I have a pilot to chauffeur me around.I'm actually hoping to take a jet out to Aspen here in the next month or two. I only caught part of it, but from everything I've heard, the media is portraying Gingrich as the big winner of the debate, to the point of it having a potentially meaningful effect on the SC vote.
1/20/2012 10:35:13 PM
he did well at times. then again, being adored by the moderators doesn't hurt, either
1/20/2012 10:39:51 PM
^Gingrich seemed to already be a crowd favorite, especially at the earlier Myrtle Beach debate. And regarding your earlier posts, I, too, was shocked that the golden rule was booed at that previous SC debate. When I first read about it, I assumed that the crowd may have booed one of the candidates for patronizing the gospels to garner votes; however, after watching it, it seemed as if the debate attendees actually disapproved of the concept of treating one's neighbors as one would want to be treated by them.

hahaha. Gingrich: I stepped down after 4 years because I wasn't doing a good job. That's what a good leader does...wat? I thought you were run out of town by the rest of the Republicans...also found it funny that he said the establishment called Reagan "crazy" in 1980. might not want to say that in the same breath as calling Ron Paul "crazy"...[Edited on January 23, 2012 at 9:09 PM. interesting treatment of Paul tonight. They haven't outright ignored him, but they haven't really let him get into any exchanges. They let the other guys talk for 10 minutes, then they ask him what he thinks, then they move on.
1/23/2012 10:31:07 PM
i heard Matt Stone and Trey Parker bought ad space for Book of Mormon during the debate. anyone see that?
1/23/2012 10:51:30 PM
This debate seemed surprisingly dull. The CNN debate on Thursday the 26th should be more interesting though since I think it's the last one before the Florida election day on Tuesday the 31st.

Gingrich flubs history in GOP debateWASHINGTON (AP) — Newt Gingrich called rival Mitt Romney a "terrible historian" but flubbed his own history in Congress on Monday night when he claimed the nation ran four consecutive budget surpluses during his time as House speaker. Romney attacked Gingrich's financial links to Freddie Mac while ignoring his own.http://news.yahoo.com/fact-check-gingrich-flubs-history-gop-debate-030803027.htmlROMNEY: "I don't think we can possibly retake the White House if the person who's leading our party is the person who was working for the chief lobbyist of Freddie Mac. Freddie Mac was paying Speaker Gingrich $1.6 million at the same time Freddie Mac was costing the people of Florida millions upon millions of dollars."THE FACTS: While going after Gingrich forcefully on the issue, Romney did not mention his own earnings from the government-backed lender and its sister entity, Fannie Mae, which came to light in his most recent financial disclosure report.[Edited on January 24, 2012 at 12:49 AM.
