WELPit looks like I'm going to Chucks for dinner tonight[Edited on July 3, 2012 at 1:56 PM. Reason : and yes, that is okra]
7/3/2012 1:55:38 PM
you done got set up
7/3/2012 1:55:55 PM
That's their chow chow on the burger.
7/3/2012 2:00:13 PM
yummmmmmmmmy looking burger[Edited on July 3, 2012 at 2:06 PM. Reason : and I don't usually like anything but cheese on my burger]
7/3/2012 2:06:07 PM
That burger pic from Chucks look dry and small.I prefer the humongous Breakfast Burger I had from Draft last night. [Edited on July 3, 2012 at 2:16 PM. Reason : k]
7/3/2012 2:15:54 PM
I like Draft burgers, though they're a little overpricedisn't krazedgirl the same person that failed all over themselves in the Beasley's thread[Edited on July 3, 2012 at 3:37 PM. Reason : V you also said that the Diner and Dickeys were good, down to earth restaurants. lol.]
7/3/2012 3:22:06 PM
you mean where I claimed Beasley's was overpriced? yep that was me.i agree Draft burgers are pricey too, but I go there using my 50% coupon.
7/3/2012 3:30:53 PM
^^That was indeed her, I remember that. Quite lulzy.
7/3/2012 6:51:17 PM
^^ what places being discussed here aren't overpriced...or even, a value?
7/3/2012 6:52:19 PM
value is all relative
7/3/2012 7:07:00 PM
To what? I'm asking her opinion here.
7/3/2012 7:09:23 PM
i guess her "best" is related to price ("value") whereas many of us think of taste. although i'd probably pay a lot more for a good burger than her and still consider it a good deal. [Edited on July 3, 2012 at 7:14 PM. Reason : ]
7/3/2012 7:13:36 PM
I'm not asking about what her best is.Try and keep up.
7/3/2012 7:56:17 PM
Wednesday is burger night at the PR, burger and fries for 5.99, that's a good value
7/3/2012 7:56:56 PM
Hell of a value. Thanks for the tip.
7/3/2012 8:00:01 PM

I wish more people would fry okra full/in halves. Perfect finger food that way.

7/3/2012 8:42:01 PM
funny how many hypocrits are in this thread acting allmighty cuz they claim they enjoy paying full price at overrated places when in fact they can't wait to line up at MoJoe's for half-priced burgermy rankings are based on taste not value....i would gladly pay full price at Draft b/c they have the best burgers I've had in town SO FAR.i look forward to trying Chucks and giving my unbiased opinioni finally tried Beasleys, their pot pie is heavenly (best I've had), their fried chicken is not that spectacular for the prices they charge, and their meatloaf tastes like a burger pattyand where/what is PR?[Edited on July 3, 2012 at 9:06 PM. 7/3/2012 9:03:45 PM
I was happy with Beasley's fried chicken, and the mac/cheese and mashed potatoes were DELICIOUS.
7/3/2012 9:07:03 PM
ah yes, i love their pimiento mac and cheese, one of the best kinds of mac and cheese i've hadbut out of my party of 20, half of which ordered the fried chicken, none of us thought it was anything spectacular for the price they were charging......def not a place we would frequent just for their fried chicken[Edited on July 3, 2012 at 9:10 PM. 7/3/2012 9:57:24 PM
I'll take that as the latter$10 is just plain burger...not breakfast, but I'll have to try that one. Looks amazing.[Edited on July 3, 2012 at 10:04 PM. Reason : ]
7/3/2012 10:02:27 PM
really, try the breakfast burger, you won't regret it....the sausage patty they put in it is enough for a meal....then add the beef patty, ham, bacon, egg, and more and it's the breakfast of championsi've also tried their Wolfpack and Mountaineer and both were amazing too
7/3/2012 10:08:59 PM
I got a Wolfpack burger at Draft for half price and thought it was mediocre...overcooked beef and the toppings were bland. Not to mention the sides were obviously straight out of a freezer bag and into a fryer.
7/3/2012 10:44:17 PM
How did you order the burger? What sides did you get?
7/3/2012 10:48:00 PM
Chucks is so damn good. I got a lil and I was so pissed for not getting the full size bc it was so damn good. Squash casserole on my burger? Fucking yes. *drool*I also like mo joe's, PR, the times and five guys.[Edited on July 3, 2012 at 10:57 PM. Reason : Forgot one! Yikes!]
7/3/2012 10:53:29 PM
This kind of feels like an interrogation.I ordered it medium rare and it came out dry and grey. I had fries and I tried some tots and onion rings that my friends ordered. I don't necessarily have a problem with frozen potato sides at restaurants, but if you are paying ~$15 for a burger I expect better.
7/3/2012 10:58:45 PM
^I had a similar situation at the Draft, but I still kinda want to try this breakfast burger that keeps being brought up.
7/3/2012 11:09:56 PM
I was so underwhelmed by Draft, buddy talked it up to be the best shit ever...not that great. I still have a soft spot for PR's.
7/3/2012 11:14:33 PM
All you burger connoisseurs on a budget need to check out the special at Fleming's, if you go before 7PM you can get a burger with cheese and bacon on a buttered brioche for $6 with unlimited house-made chips and 2 onion rings. Probably not the best burger you will ever eat in your life, but it's on a different level than Draft.
7/3/2012 11:32:32 PM
Draft is good, but not life altering. There's more to a good burger than just dumping so much crap on it that you can't fit it in your mouth or even figure out where all the flavor is coming from. In my opinion if you can make a flawless simple cheeseburger then anything else more or less has to be good.
7/3/2012 11:34:39 PM
"This is hamburger. It is made of meat and served on a bun with nothing else. You can put ketchup on it if you want. I don't care."
7/3/2012 11:56:09 PM
whatever happened to a simple burger with mustard on itnow we gotta put a 5 course meal on top of a burger to get ranked in the top 5?
7/4/2012 12:00:25 AM
a perfect, simple burger is what i make at homeall the fancy stuff is for eating outjust my opinion though, obviously not all will agree with that
7/4/2012 11:39:48 AM
The best burger in Raleigh is about to be on my MFing grill.
7/4/2012 11:58:07 AM
^ address please?
7/4/2012 12:20:12 PM
Tke-Teg and others who like a simple burger, try The Big House at Chuck's. I had one today for lunch. It's gooey aged cheddar, carmelized shallots, and a nice djion. Very simple, very good. I have yet to dislike a variant from Chuck's. I still love the Bradley Time... blue cheese, red onions, and beets? Oh god yes.
7/4/2012 8:44:06 PM
Thanks for the tip And seriously, who the heck puts just mustard on a burger?! Leave that shit for the hot dogs
7/4/2012 11:19:51 PM
Has Berkeley Cafe been mentioned?(positively mentioned)
7/5/2012 12:35:00 AM
Abbey Road and Woodys both have awesome burgers. But they're both in Cary so maybe it's irrelevant here.
7/5/2012 1:16:36 AM
there is a woody's downtown though... I've never gotten a burger there (always get wings or some other finger food), but I'm sure their comparable
7/5/2012 9:06:21 AM
i grilled some excellent burgers yesterday. just meat, cheese, and a little mayo.
7/5/2012 9:07:35 AM

Five Guys' burgers are NOT better than Woody's...unless you are one of those weirdos that prefers dry burgers to juicy ones.
