I think the thing a lot of people are more pissed about is that when the Jimmy V investigation was going on the N&O couldn't stop putting huge stories about it in the sports page - regardless of the fact that the manager had a vendetta against V and that Golenbock took all his claims as truths. This UNC thing has gotten some N&O coverage, but in the big Sunday edition the 2 frontpage UNC stories were how a UNC football recruit has persevered in his career and how Dean Smith is in poor health.
