you know what's gonna be funny is when the Kennedy's really do call on them to help out and they're like "fuck you, ted chaough!" and hang up
10/11/2010 8:06:58 PM
Yuh that Bobby Kennedy stunt was hilarious!
10/13/2010 5:22:25 PM
someone i know from work made an interesting point. SCDP has that honda business and honda could be the one who saves them.
10/14/2010 9:00:52 AM
started season 2 last night....i love it!
10/14/2010 9:37:01 AM
The first Honda car won't arrive in the U.S. for another five or six years and it's about that long before their first super bike is manufactured. They're still small potatoes outside of Japan.]
10/14/2010 9:43:16 AM
I could have sworn honda was selling bikes in the US as early as the late 50's.
10/14/2010 9:51:28 AM
They were (I mean there was a friggin episode centered around it)But the CB750 and its siblings, which put Honda on the map, didn't go into production until 69/70We're in, what, 64 or 65 now? Honda isn't that big of a deal in the States.]
10/14/2010 10:01:56 AM
I assumed it was the Honda Cub, which was a hit in the US in the 60s.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Super_CubTheir "You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda" campaign is pretty famous.]
10/14/2010 10:58:16 AM
Most popular bike in the world, but not so successful here
10/14/2010 11:02:14 AM
In reality, Conrad Hilton never met Don Draper.
10/14/2010 11:16:51 AM
I didn't mean that to be a theory-buster. Just thought it was neato factoid.I also come off as downplaying Honda too much, I think. They had a foothold in American in 1965, and the cub was a big part of that, but I don't see them replacing Lucky Strike. They're nowhere near that.[Edited on October 14, 2010 at 11:39 AM. Reason : ]

I approved Don Draper's shenanigan.

10/17/2010 10:55:25 PM
Goddammit Don. I knew that he was going to do something with that ring when she randomly gave it to him.]
10/17/2010 10:56:15 PM
lol don's hidden booze
10/17/2010 10:56:46 PM
pretty weak finaleI would have liked to know more about where the company was headed
10/17/2010 11:00:57 PM
Shit's weak
10/17/2010 11:01:25 PM
don and betty really deserve one another.and i think the company will be fine.. they "got over the hump" or whatever with peggy's help. though clearly she's set for a drastic rise by the end of the seriesnot the best of the shows finales thus far, but man this season was freaking amazing.[Edited on October 17, 2010 at 11:03 PM. no new billings for 10 weeks and they lost over 50% of existing with Lucky Strike... and a quarter mil new company is enough to save them? Seemed like they were pretty much on the brinkThey left the whole Cancer Association and Cosgrove refusal thing just hanging tooAwesome season but the finale just didn't live up to the rest of the season, imo
10/17/2010 11:11:17 PM
yea was definitely weaker than the rest of the season.i wonder if they'll do a whole fast-forward thing between the seasons, or if they'll pick right up. i was thinking they showed enough signs of life with the business that they could survive a bit new (more and more accounts will sign now that they've got their first couple of new accounts post-tobacco)and i had a feeling that joan was going to keep the baby.
10/17/2010 11:21:54 PM
So are we sure that they are doing the Cancer Society work pro bono?
10/17/2010 11:46:32 PM
Don fell in love with those triple-Ds, I don't blame him
10/18/2010 4:11:46 AM
FYI, Don's checklist is- smoking hot- good with kidsPsychologist lady met none of those. Also, anyone ever dated a psychologist chick? They are annoying
10/18/2010 4:42:43 AM
she had a weird face
10/18/2010 8:01:50 AM
^ I kept noticing that too. Also I was really glad they made the teeth shout out, because those things are hideous. The episode wasn't really that bad and I think the only reason some people weren't wowed by it like the others is because the season as a whole left the bar rather high. I will be really interested in seeing how the next leap forward goes down, since that means Don will have likely been married for a bit.
10/18/2010 9:05:22 AM
They didn't jump forward that much from last season... weeks maybe?
10/18/2010 9:11:00 AM
I am fairly confident it was at least an 8 month jump, which is one of the shorter ones of the series. Last season ended after Nov. 23rd 1963 and then we moved up to a few months before xmas in 1964.
10/18/2010 9:58:32 AM
damn you right, I don't know what I was thinkingI did binge watch the entire series in like two weeks before season 4 started
10/18/2010 10:02:54 AM
Poor Don, Faye is going to bring him down with her knowledge of his past. Too many people know about it between Betty, Pete, Faye.
10/18/2010 10:26:06 AM
Faye doesn't seem like the scornful type to me, so I don't see that as an issue. I think that last scene was important, and we'll see that Don isn't as happy as he thought he was going to be.
10/18/2010 10:42:00 AM
his new wife will probably be preggars next season.
10/18/2010 11:14:13 AM
Maybe Don will start screwing Betty on the side.
10/18/2010 11:24:10 AM
10/18/2010 11:31:14 AM
Is this just another big hint that Joan's husband is a really bad doctor?
10/18/2010 8:05:31 PM
aw man, i really liked Faye.
10/18/2010 9:00:50 PM
if joan's husband makes it back from vietnam i'll be surprised.maybe he gets fragged for being a terrible doctor
10/18/2010 9:36:49 PM
10/18/2010 10:10:58 PM
I hope faye tries to expose him -- gotta create some conflict for a story
10/18/2010 10:22:01 PM
Faye will not want to get pulled into a petty fight with Don. She is proud and i think if we do see her again she'll be helping another firm hit Don where it hurts the most. I like Megan but there is already so much working against their relationship. I do think we see Megan and Peggy coming into conflict if Don promotes Megan to copywriter. Megan is quiet and manipulative and we possibly see her become more aggressive next season now that she's bagged Don?
10/19/2010 1:19:22 AM
Faye exposing Don would really be out of character, she was the one who encouraged him to open up about his past and her punishing him for doing so seems inconsistent even if she is pretty pissed about their breakup. She's been one of the most emotionally mature characters the show has ever featured, she's like the anti-Betty. [Edited on October 19, 2010 at 1:25 AM. Reason : .]
10/19/2010 1:21:32 AM
In a season full of Don making mistakes, that was maybe the dumbest one yet. I was shocked that after he spent the entire second half of the season pulling himself together (ever since that night in the office with Peggy, when Anna died), he goes and proposes to his secretary. Also, I think this is the first time I've seen Harry Crane not wearing a bowtie.[Edited on October 19, 2010 at 3:42 PM. spoiler alertturns out Donald Draper is Kevin Arnold's real dad
10/19/2010 9:59:01 PM
^haha, I watched some Wonder Years recently and it wasn't as good as I had remembered it (things rarely are) but it wasn't terrible either (unlike Alf which does not hold up at all). I wish I could find a better rip of it than the shitty VHS quality stuff on bit torrent, but I doubt they'll release it on DVD anytime soon because the rights to the music are so expensive.
10/19/2010 10:08:27 PM
^ some new kids channel just started playing them in order, with season 1 starting last week. I'm not at my place right now but I'll post which channel it is when I get homeI <3 The Wonder Years, a lot
