finally, a couple of years and more than a half dozen failures, i will get to see them at Hopscotch.

as an example of the trials and tribulations i've had, the last show with TA and Okkervil River, my ride to the show had a cat hit in front of her house and we had to wait for an extra hour for Animal Control to come help the beast as it screeched and screamed its way off this mortal coil.

dying cat or not, i'm fucking seeing them in a week-ish.

went ahead and bought a ticket to see them in san francisco in november. i don't know how quickly they sell out here, but i wasn't taking any chances. no idea what the venue's like, so uhm, i hope it's cool.

I don't mind it at some venues, because I can stand back and still enjoy the show. Unless they've changed something at Lincoln recently, you can't get out of the crowd and still see the stage.

Plenty of places to see without getting trampled. In fact, it's probably the best venue in town for watching the show while being out of the crowd.

not in advance, that i know of. your best bet is to show up super early and try to purchase a ticket at the door. last year i managed to get into the lonnie walker show at slims for $20. i had to wait for awhile though because they were giving priority to VIP, then to normal wristband holders, and then finally let me in just before LW went on.

so if you're really persistent and want to get in, be there before doors open and be prepared to wait awhile. future islands show is going to be in even more demand than that lonnie walker show was last year though, so you might still have trouble.
