3/10/2010 5:18:25 PM
so angry
3/10/2010 5:18:56 PM
they typically ran with a crew of right around 400. I'm not sure what a skeleton crew complement would be.

the enterprise from the next generation was ncc 1701-D I believencc1701-C was talked about in yesterday's enterprise and I assume ncc1701-A was the original series so have they ever said anything about B?
3/10/2010 8:40:44 PM

3/10/2010 8:42:06 PM

one of my favorite episodes of TNG was "The Pegasus" with Admiral John Locke Pressman.

well there goes my day

3/11/2010 1:15:22 PM
right... those things are not being debated. you said, however, that they were able to move faster than (24th century) warp 10, which is infinite speed. i don't care what technology you use, you can't go faster than infinite speed.
3/11/2010 1:31:17 PM
What of infinite speed +1?
3/11/2010 1:46:09 PM
Could a ship with infinite speed make the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs?
3/11/2010 3:17:59 PM
It would make it instantaneously.
3/11/2010 3:49:29 PM
^^^^ fair enough. But it is also true that the show has said a couple times that there are speeds above warp 10. This is to say that the technobabble fails all over itself at times. But, we all knew that.
3/11/2010 4:16:34 PM
Who would win in a Mad Max Thunderdome style fight between Spock and Chewbacca?
3/11/2010 4:21:08 PM
Spock of course. This is a Star Trek thread after all.

How do you guys feel about Star Trek: Enterprise retconning the shit out of the other series?
3/11/2010 6:19:24 PM
Star Trek does it all of the time. Read the above mentions of warp 10 being a concrete limit and then having ships going warp 14.However, what Enterprise did was genuinely ridiculous. Pretty sure the first two seasons were all about some crazy "temporal cold war" aka we do whatever we want.
3/11/2010 9:10:59 PM
halloway was also captain of ncc 1701 D
3/11/2010 9:18:01 PM
are tribbles edible and delicious?
3/11/2010 9:20:18 PM
^^^The temporal cold war aspect of Enterprise was pure shit. That's why it failed. There should have been LOADS of material showing Earth's first real reaches into the galaxy before the federation, but no... they did some fucking time travel bullshit.just like voyager did.I'd like to see a series on a Daedalus class ship.^^no he wasn't. that was an alternate timeline created by Q. ^the Glommer could eat them... ^ I agree.best thing that came out of it....well there really was nothing good that came out of it. Only Hoshi Sato, and she hasn't been in anything since.

Will there ever be another series?
5/7/2010 11:38:08 PM
Probably not. Berman ran it into the ground.
5/7/2010 11:38:28 PM
Why doesn't the federation weaponize/standarize all those single episode treknobabble superweapons?[Edited on May 7, 2010 at 11:45 PM. Reason : ]

because their military research funding gets cut by every democratic-controlled Federation Council

People have to care in order to see it happen. They stopped caring. P'mount has to be shown that they can make mad cash on it, and they can't if the ratings suck.
5/9/2010 1:59:46 PM
This gentleman has created an alternate universe of TNG by recutting episodes:http://www.youtube.com/user/GeneralGrinThe result is amazing and hilarious, but you will probably not "get" the jokes unless you've watched the show. Also, it is a continuous series, so make sure you watch all of them.
5/31/2010 1:17:38 AM
Ok, given it's 5AM and I'm kinda loopy, but I about pissed myself laughing at the first 3-4 videos That sex scene in the ready room is GOLD.

In the new Star Trek movie, Uhura orders a Cardassian something drink at the bar, even though the Cardassians were discovered in TNG! wtf is going on here? And don't give me that alternate universe BS, this happened before any time travel shenanigans ]
5/31/2010 9:33:19 AM
Cardassian sunrise i believe is what she saidand yea, when they did that movie they got the 'ok' to change the timeline a lot..so there's no telling. i can't really remember though when they discovered them. i know tng was the first one i remember actually showing much interaction with them though.
5/31/2010 10:16:13 AM
Actually the episode in TNG wasn't really the first contact. It was only the first time the Cardassians were featured on the show. They made first contact sometime more likely around the mid 22nd century. They were just all backwards and shit. There is evidence of a cardassian living on Vulcan during the 22nd century...
