Please, I think someone would have to demo a real invisibility cloak to get me to gasp. A thin notebook, even two years ago, was not that incredible.
1/27/2010 1:58:18 PM
the air wasnt even that impressive. Lenovo had a laptop with more stuff built in that was the same size.
1/27/2010 1:58:26 PM
^link? nvm, Lenovo...who wants to see that garbage?
1/27/2010 1:59:33 PM
so what if it looks like there's multiple pages of a book when you're reading? that doesn't really change anything...

not yet---i could see someone like my dad being interested in this. his macbook is getting old and he's kind of itching to move onto something new. he doesn't need horsepower, it's neat looking, and if this can display powerpoint/keynote slideshows, that would be a big plus for him. wait, can the iphone do that?[Edited on January 27, 2010 at 2:03 PM. 1/27/2010 2:05:33 PM
http://www.viralthis.com/57/lenovo-x300-vs-macbook-air.htmlyea its a lenovo but it still does more at the same size. Anyhow, point is the air's form factor wasnt at all unique or suprising.

1/27/2010 2:10:36 PM
anyone have a stream for this?
1/27/2010 2:12:13 PM
The iPad isn't meant to compete with an iPhone, only a retard (like pack_bryan ) would compare them this way.
1/27/2010 2:12:29 PM
I guess I missed the part how this 'easily connects to projectors'
1/27/2010 2:12:44 PM
i just don't view a slate/tablet as a huge productivity product for data entry, i dunno, i guess some industries use PDA's
1/27/2010 2:13:07 PM
lames, USB syncing only?
1/27/2010 2:13:35 PM

“So, iPad. It’s phenomenal to hold the internet in your hand.”And what happens when your hands get tired and you just want to sit it on your lap or your desk and continue working without holding it up to your face all day?Eh.[Edited on January 27, 2010 at 2:19 PM. Reason : .]
1/27/2010 2:19:10 PM
Yeah, it's unlocked but probably only does AT&T 3G frequencies.
1/27/2010 2:19:14 PM
This really is humurous. Steve isnt stupid. I have to imagine this must be a hard pitch for him.
1/27/2010 2:19:44 PM
OK, $500 isn't terrible. Still wouldn't buy it, but not terrible.
1/27/2010 2:19:48 PM
starts at 499prob. w/o 3G
1/27/2010 2:20:06 PM
$499 isn't too bad
1/27/2010 2:20:11 PM
1/27/2010 2:20:28 PM
Yeah 499 will be a good price point. Just a little more than most netbooks.
1/27/2010 2:20:35 PM
Nothing apple has released on day one has been loaded with features or functionality. Haven't we learned that yet?
1/27/2010 2:20:44 PM
AT&T can't handle computing devices at even their current capacitymight as well throw in a free unicorn
1/27/2010 2:20:50 PM
for 16GB, that's not going to hold ANYBODY's music, movies & games.it's really more $599-$699
holy fuck 829? wow
1/27/2010 2:21:01 PM
$130 extra for 3G...?

1/27/2010 2:22:28 PM

1/27/2010 2:23:15 PM
So......in summary, it does the same things as my iphone, but it's bigger and more expensive. Bought, day one.
1/27/2010 2:25:31 PM
^technically its cheaper than your phone.
1/27/2010 2:25:48 PM
Jon Ive says “there’s no wrong or right way to hold it.” “I don’t have to change myself to fit the product, it fits me.”How do they come up with this nonsense? Skill.
