My company doesn't do Christmas bonuses (or end of year bonuses or anything) but I do get quarterly bonuses based on the profitability of my jobs if I meet the given benchmarks. I've been there two years and thankfully I've been able to hit it every time so far. Other guys, not so much.My company doesn't seem to do raises for the most part either. Talking with some people who have been there a couple of years longer than I have (fairly new company that has only been around about 10 years) they seem to give people a $2K raise after 6 months and then never give you another one. If we want a raise, they expect us to streamline our projects to be more profitable so our quarterly bonus is higher.
6/22/2015 6:43:08 PM
fuck you guysI get a quarterly bonus, just heard thru the rumor mill they might be going away. Company suicide.
6/24/2015 7:39:05 PM
our bonuses are production and docket management (think of hitting deadlines by certain dates) based

13 years in the workforce. Never a Christmas bonus. Never a bonus, period. I guess our "bonus" is "you're not fired."

Got mine from my new job a few days ago.First time I've gotten one around xmas time.Works out nicely since I'm headed to AU soon.

$7500 bonus this year, before taxes of course

I'm pretty sure "Christmas Bonuses" only exist in Christmas movies. Now Spring bonuses, they do exist.[Edited on December 17, 2015 at 8:22 AM. Reason : .]
12/17/2015 8:22:21 AM
12,500 before taxes.
12/17/2015 8:26:52 AM
$750 (state employee).Be nice to work somewhere where they give you baller bonuses.
12/17/2015 8:47:28 AM
If you had to deal with my boss you wouldn't consider it a bonus as much as an asshole tax lol
12/17/2015 8:51:08 AM
12/17/2015 8:51:32 AM
yeah if I get any sort of "bonus" (PMAP award) it'll be like $500. that's if my boss does the unthinkable and rates me a 4 or a 5. I handle a lot of HR actions and it sucks seeing literally everyone around you getting promotions and performance awards while nobody in my branch has gotten one in years. your boss makes all the difference in the government - pretty much all the other chiefs try to get as much as they can for their employees. ours guards that money like it was hers.
12/17/2015 12:31:25 PM
Not necessarily a bonus, but apparently I'm benefiting from something called 11 year creep? Basically getting an extra paycheck tomorrow. Never woulda known if HR had decided not to pay it, but I guess it's something that happens every 11 years or so to companies that pay on a bi-weekly schedule where you end up with more... nevermind, I googled mid-post and google explains it as follows:"What is the 27th Payroll? The 27th payroll is an anomaly to the bi-weekly pay schedule caused bycalendar creep that cycles every eleven years. The last 27th Payrolloccurred in Fiscal Year 1995. The next one is FY 2006. A 'normal'bi-weekly pay year consists of 26 pay periods. However, due to thedifference in timing between two-week pay periods, a 365 day calendarand the additional days for leap year, every eleventh pay year containsa 27th pay period.

^ We get it too. Everyones very happy about it, but its causing all sorts of tax and benefits issues.
12/17/2015 10:35:47 PM
we get 26 pay periods a year so I get an extra check in January and one I think in June. it's nice to have.
12/18/2015 10:43:19 AM
if you're salaried, your salary was likely just chopped into 27 pieces instead of 26 this year... meaning if your salary is 100k, each paycheck was around $150 lighter before deductions.
12/18/2015 12:52:55 PM
just got half what i got last year. and then i got my car towed while at our christmas lunch/dinner/bar-hopping/clubbing event.
12/19/2015 1:07:49 PM
LOL Christmas bonus? What's that?
12/19/2015 1:17:45 PM
4.6% had an extra $500 in it (before taxes) for being a model employee.immediately dumped 2/3 of the whole thing into credit debt
12/19/2015 7:13:23 PM
I'm expecting about 3k in performance bonus, or 1.5k after taxes.
12/19/2015 8:47:16 PM
damn some taxes
12/20/2015 12:54:12 PM
^yep. fucking taxes.
12/21/2015 1:04:21 PM
when we decide what bonus to give someone, HR figures out the gross amount the bonus needs to be so they net the amount we tell them
12/21/2015 3:14:46 PM
I believe that's called "grossing up"
12/21/2015 7:56:33 PM
Trying to decide if I want to stay at my job long enough to get my annual bonus and raise this year. Really torn, because I'm pretty fucking miserable, but I also don't really want to pass up maybe 10k just to ditch out in February vs. March. I'm leaning towards quitting anyway since there's a pretty good chance we won't hit our financial/operational goal anyway which would mean I'm out 5k of it right there.Decisions man, decisions.
12/22/2015 6:54:43 AM
^well if the current job is that bad, walk.
12/22/2015 9:06:55 AM
I am, it's just a matter of timing really.
12/22/2015 9:12:52 AM
Got laid off in september, but they still gave me the december bonus (via paper check, what are those?), which helped since I just started my new job in november and didn't qualify for the quarterly bonus.
12/26/2015 9:33:26 AM
no bonus again this christmas/year. That's par for the course since 09. There might be a raise, but it would be MAYBE 1-3%.

Got a bonus. About 40% went to taxes. So merry christmas, gubment?
12/31/2015 5:46:49 PM
You'll get it back, assuming you don't normally give uncle sam 40% each paycheck.
1/2/2016 7:28:11 AM
i've never received a christmas bonus until this past year - CEO sent out an email a few weeks ago saying we'd get a modest bonus in our 12/30 paycheck - a whole $650 having said that i got both a nominal out-of-cycle raise in november and an unexpected equity grant mid-december that put my total compensation (assuming our stock doesn't plummet much further) past a milestone that i was working on
1/4/2016 9:19:35 AM
Finally got my 800 bonus and a 3% raise.Slightly pissed about the 3% but it is what it is
