5Terrapin Depth Charge = amazing
11/11/2009 11:50:22 AM
i've never had that either, but it looks right up my alley.
11/11/2009 11:50:46 AM
It's definitely more a coffee than a beer, hahahttp://beernews.org/tag/terrapin-depth-charge
11/11/2009 11:51:59 AM
I love both coffee and beer. So it's almost perfect. Got a little obsessed with Great Divide's Espresso Imperial Stout last year...this one is better.
11/11/2009 11:55:34 AM
i'm the same way except i got hooked on the Kona Pipeline Porter.
11/11/2009 11:57:41 AM
call me crazy but i don't like it when people fuck with stouts and portersjust gimme a stout or a porter if i wanted coffee i'd order one
11/11/2009 12:00:11 PM
i can understand that.
11/11/2009 12:07:38 PM
you guys should try alesmith's speedway stout, if you can find itthough at 12% abv it's most definitely beer and not coffee
11/11/2009 12:08:37 PM
^^^I feel ya. But I like them all.
11/11/2009 12:13:58 PM
i will certainly try any porter or stout and sometimes i enjoy the derivates glad yall can feel me though; if offered a good stout and a good ____ stout i'm going to take the stout
11/11/2009 12:15:29 PM
11/11/2009 12:19:09 PM
yeah, it's only sold in 750ml bottles -- delicious (and strong!), makes a great beer float toohttp://www.alesmith.com/speedwaystout.html
11/11/2009 12:25:46 PM
yep, that's the stuff i was thinking of. soooooooo good.
11/11/2009 12:26:38 PM
anyone know if the terrapin depth charge is sold at peace street market?
11/18/2009 4:25:18 PM
You can definitely put me in the group that thinks New Belgium beers are overrated, but got a couple of their "2 Belows" sample beers at my bar last night...and I'll have say, they were pretty tasty.Bout to crack open my Depth Charge growler and have some dinner and watch a movie with a lady friend tonight. Alcohol and caffeine...top combo for foolin' around FTW!!

about to dodge some Long Hammers
11/18/2009 4:44:16 PM
I, too, have heard that 2 Below is a good beer.I hope they bring it to this market.
11/18/2009 4:45:53 PM
I was real close to drinking a beer after work today but then I thought I would feel like an alcoholic drinking a beer at 3:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday :-\

good fall brews I had recently.[Edited on November 18, 2009 at 5:21 PM. Reason : j]

Probably the best beer I've had in a few months...Peace Street Market and College Beverage both have it
11/19/2009 2:38:28 PM
Tried some Abita Pecan ale last week, one of their seasonals. So far I've only seen it at Whole Foods. It's good--not a super-strong pecan flavor, pretty subtle actually, but it's a tasty beer on its own merit and the pecan adds an interesting dimension. I feel like I've largely missed the Oktoberfests this year, which is rather sad as I quite like them.

Had many Bell's Porters last night at the bar. I love Porters and Stouts, but often they are so heavy that you can only have a couple. But the Bell's Porter was very light and delicious...and I had many.

Currently sipping a Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter
11/25/2009 12:10:04 AM
^ i'm not a fan of those. i like porters, but that one just doesn't do it for me.
11/25/2009 12:11:43 AM
same here...love porters. Just not the baltic porter by DR.I need to start going to the peace street market again. Don't they usually have good deals on "seasonal" beers that are going out of season? I just remember getting a 12 pack of some pumpkin ale for busch light prices.[Edited on November 25, 2009 at 12:16 AM. Reason : d]
11/25/2009 12:15:30 AM
I've never seen a deal that amazing, but if there is one, plz to post it in here

i had a brooklyn brown - which i used to enjoy very much - tonight from a bottle and it wasn't nearly as good as i remembered. i'm pretty sure i've only ever had it on draft before tonight though. maybe that's the difference. either way, i was disappointed.
