any band that charges $90+ to their fans = shitty to methat is just absurd
10/5/2009 8:34:37 PM
i dont see anything wrong with it.there are a select few bands i would pay $90+ for.

I only go to about 2 or 3
10/6/2009 7:36:57 AM
^^^From what I've read, U2 won't break even until they finish this leg of the tour,
10/6/2009 11:26:41 AM
^^^^U2 makes a TON of money regardless. Usually in the concert world, bands are guaranteed X number of dollars per show. For example, I know last summer, Kenny Chesney made $1.6 mil guaranteed per show. It is up to the promoter to turn a profit through ticket/concession/etc sales.I went to a show a few yrs ago, motley crue/aerosmith. Aerosmith made $10,000 for a 30 minute meet n greet, and almost a million for the show. Since it was a cold night in october, they only sold about 14-15,000 tickets and not many concessions, so livenation lost about $300k that night from what I was told.U2 was probably guaranteed something in the 1.5-2million range and then it is up to livenation to turn a profit off that number.

U2 fans gripe: Traffic kept us outOct 06, 2009
10/9/2009 4:01:38 AM
They probably could have cut traffic down heavily if they provided bus service. I still don't understand why there isn't a stop for CAT/TTA at the fairgrounds/rbc/carter finley. Anywhere in that area would be adequate. It was one of the first things I checked and it would be great to park over in a deck downtown or at State and bus in.
10/9/2009 5:46:10 AM
did anyone miss part of the show due to traffic?
10/9/2009 12:34:21 PM
i missed half my life due to traffic after the show
10/9/2009 2:38:24 PM
^^^^maybe people should be smarter about it. When 60,000 people show up for a football game they start arriving 5 hours beforehand and trickle in from that point up to game time. For this concert most people didn't tailgate (or if they did just a little) or didn't care about the opening band and showed up late. Well WTF do you think is going to happen?! Horrible traffic, that's what.Idiots.

I've seen Springsteen live twice and think U2 does a better live show.
10/10/2009 7:19:30 PM
Baffling. But to each his own.
10/10/2009 9:45:53 PM
we drove in at about 7:30... took us 30 minutes to find a parking spot and walk our asses down to the stadium... Got to watch the last song by Muse (which SUCKED)... Took us about 20 minutes to walk out and 5 minutes to get out of traffic. I guess I just know what I'm doing... Helps to be a local

so what's the verdict on the download
10/13/2009 12:44:05 PM
it's quiet, but the audio is good. If the FLACs could be found, I'd like to see someone master these a little. But overall, good stuff.
10/13/2009 2:06:29 PM
thanks for the link, it sounds great
10/13/2009 5:58:29 PM
thanks! this is great... I took over an hour of video, but we had seats right in front of the speakers so my audio is total crap. I'm going to dub over my video with this audio
10/13/2009 8:39:53 PM
Good, but you have to turn up your volume pretty high. Anyone good with remastering audio?
10/13/2009 11:30:12 PM
when I put it on itunes, I just went to options and made it +100 volume... good enough for now I guess
10/14/2009 7:12:30 AM
I'm a n00b but I just went into soundbooth and used the "make louder" feature for each song. I think it turned out pretty good considering I didn't do any actual remastering.
10/14/2009 4:32:20 PM
U2 has their whole show from the Rose Bowl up on YouTube if anybody's interested.... I just downloaded it.
10/28/2009 5:44:01 PM
i need to go get the remastered Unforgettable Fire this week
10/28/2009 8:35:32 PM
Got it yesterday ... I'm not too fond of the second disc. A lot of their work with Eno sounds dated. Not like Joshua Tree where everything is timeless.Boy's second disc sounds dated too, but I liked that era.
